EcoFlow Delta 3 1500 & Alternator Charger 1000 Plus
I have an EcoFlow Delta 3 1500. We toured Europe with this in our Motorhome and it was great for powering various devices. Was great how we could limit the charge input when on low amp EHU sites too. The only reason for the 4 star rating is I phoned CS to enquire about their new alternator charger with added solar only to find out that they haven't developed a cable for the solar input yet. Seems a bit odd to release a product that's not fully developed yet. But I only waited a couple of minutes to speak to someone in CS so that was better than expected. Their products on the whole have been great for me though.

Never received Battery and Panel…
Never received Battery and Panel Bundle. 3 months on and still disputing. Having waited over a month for items they originally listed as in stock I contacted Ecoflow to cancel my order. They would not acknowledge this and then said that my order was out for delivery, nothing arrived no details from courier, customer service would not respond. I contacted my credit card company to charge back the purchase. To add insult to injury Ecoflow are disputing the chargeback saying that the order was delivered despite having no POD. Not one for writing bad reviews but I would not like anyone to go through the same very poor experience that I have.

Uttterly dire. Product doesn't work, useless customer service
Bought EcoFlow DELTA 3 Series Solar Generator (panels & battery). The product does not work (no charging), the customer service is utterly dire. Two months of promises of replacement, many many emails and calls but no resolution. Strongly recommend you avoid this company and product.

The Truth About EcoFlow
The Truth About EcoFlow – Hidden Subscriptions, Fake Shelly Integration & Broken Software
If you are considering buying an EcoFlow solar system (such as the PowerStream microinverter) thinking it is an open, affordable, and easy "plug-and-play" solution, please read this review based on real-world usage before wasting your money.
What looks great in marketing quickly turns into an anti-consumer money pit full of artificial software limitations, hidden costs, and paywalls that end up costing as much as a professional, full-scale solar installation.
Here is the breakdown of the major flaws in the EcoFlow ecosystem:
1. Paywalled App Features (€40/year Subscription)
EcoFlow has started locking basic software analytics behind a paywall. If you want to use the "Predicted Generation" feature inside their app to see how much solar power you are expected to produce based on the weather forecast, they charge an outrageous €40 annual subscription. They are literally charging you a yearly fee just to look at data generated by the hardware you already paid for!
2. Fake Shelly Compatibility (The 1-Phase Trap)
EcoFlow heavily markets its official partnership with Shelly for smart energy management and "Zero Export" functionality. However, their software implementation is highly deceptive.
While the app allows you to link your Shelly Cloud account, it strictly filters out and ignores popular modern single-phase devices like the Shelly Pro EM-50. Even though the Pro EM-50 shares the exact same generation architecture and communication protocols as the supported 3-phase models (like Pro 3EM), EcoFlow blocks it in their software. If you have a standard single-phase grid connection, you are completely locked out of using your smart meter.
3. Forced "Zero Export" Monopoly & Hidden Costs
Because EcoFlow refuses to update their app to recognize standard devices like the Shelly Pro EM-50, they force you into a corner. To achieve proper Zero Export (preventing your excess solar power from leaking into the public grid for free), they expect you to buy their proprietary, expensive EcoFlow Smart Plugs for every single appliance in your house. It is a textbook ecosystem trap designed to extract more money from the consumer.
4. ZERO Web Support for Consumers (Mobile App Only)
EcoFlow completely neglects PC/Mac users. There is no official web dashboard where a standard user can log in and view their PowerStream system on a big computer screen. You are entirely forced to use a mobile app on a small screen for daily monitoring and technical adjustments. If you try to bypass this by accessing their technical IoT developer platform, you are forced to apply for an "EcoFlow Developer Account" and wait up to 5 business days for manual staff approval just to get text-based data logs.
5. Technical Hardware Issues under Peak Load (MPPT / Inverter Dropouts)
Even the hardware telemetry is frustrating. On a perfectly clear, cloudless day with panels facing dead South and absolutely zero physical shading or obstacles, the system suffers from sudden dropouts. As seen in diagnostics, around 1:00 PM when solar generation reaches its peak (above 150W), the PV2 input completely crashes to zero and stays dead for the rest of the day, while PV1 continues to function. This points to serious technical flaws—either an inverter hardware dropout due to overvoltage/overcurrent under peak load, or a software crash of the MPPT tracker itself when it hits maximum capacity.
Conclusion
When you add up the initial cost of the EcoFlow hardware, the proprietary smart plugs you are forced to buy, and the ridiculous €40/year software subscriptions, this system costs the exact same as a proper, professional solar installation—except a real system gives you full web access, open meter compatibility, and advanced weather analytics completely free for life.
Do not buy EcoFlow. They are turning hardware ownership into a subscription-based, restricted walled garden.
Slow after sales support in EU.
2026-05-11 Bought Wave 3 + Add-on battery air condition via Amazon.es, delivery to winter marina worked fine.
Air condition didn’t work with power from Ecoflow battery.
Contacted first level support, on-line chat is preferable because conversation via email can take 2-3 business days. Initial troubleshooting excluded user error.
Case created 2026-05-21, after some days Ecoflow decided to send a replacement battery.
They can’t deliver lithium batteries to the islands we are sailing around (Corsica, Sardinia, Menorca or Mallorca), can understand extra cost/leadtime.
Ecoflow sells equipment perfect for nomads like sailors but have difficulty to fix delivery of replacement batteries to marinas in reasonable time.
When new equipment doesn’t work a company expects to do there best to sort it out without delays.
Great value and essential device
Travelling through Europe during Christmas and New Yar in our motorhome, we found the Ecoflow River 3 3 to be excellent. We were concerned about being off grid at times, but the River 3 always came through with plenty of power and easy to recharge. since then have bought another and we are now looking at the Delta plus with solar.
Wave3 reliability and terrible customer service
I bought a Wave 3 air conditioner last year direct from Ecoflow and unfortunately it was faulty out of the box, making some very unhealthy noises. At that time, support was quite responsive in organising a replacement.
Fast forward under a year, we're experiencing a brief May heatwave and I put the A/C into service, but after about an hour it dies and trips out the whole house. (The unit is still well under its 2 year warranty)
I was hoping for decent customer service based on the first experience, however this time has been an exercise in delay, nonsense and frustration:
- Despite being registered on the Ecoflow portal with all product details, my contact details, proof of purchase etc. apparently Ecoflow support still needs all of this information repeated manually over email.
- Despite accurate fault description and the fact the unit is totally dead, I am asked repeated inane questions about the nature of the fault - apparently I am supposed to get some debug information out of a unit that experienced such a catastrophic electrical failure that it took out the whole house.
- Now Ecoflow is 'root causing' the fault (for 2 weeks) - something that seems to be impossible given that a) the unit is dead and b) it is sitting here and therefore they have nothing to inspect to determine a root cause.
It is now nearly 3 weeks since the case was raised and I am just getting nonsense from customer services - clearly simply a delay tactic.
Not good enough..
Update 15th June - I haven't received an update from EcoFlow in 10 days. I'm not sure what is worse, a nonsense email making excuses or complete radio silence.
Update 30th June - I have now been offered a repair or partial refund. Frankly a partial refund is a joke given the device is under warranty, barely used and there is no consideration for refunding accessories that would become useless. I'm not sure this is even compliant with consumer law.
As far as a repair goes, this seems to involve shipping the unit overseas and then an indeterminate wait - I was promised a returns label, it finally came after chasing up, but turned out to be corrupt and now I am waiting again. So yet more time wasted and it seems no hope of being able to use the unit during the summer - its main purpose.

Delta 3 Plus
Would I buy this again? Probably not. The basic unit functions as expected and the app is clear and works very well however there are some unexpected problems.
In the five / six weeks of ownership the unit has shut off the AC sockets on several occasions with absolutely no explanation and hence can not be trusted as a UPS. One of the reasons I purchased this unit :(
The port memory is switched on, the unit its self and the AC sockets are set to never sleep but still the random shut offs keep occurring despite there being sufficient power (30% ) left in the battery.
I have tried contacting Ecoflow Support and they go through the motions but can offer no insight or assistance as to why the unit shuts off the AC. They unfortunately follow their 'script' as per all customer service centres and tell you to do what you have already told them, in email, you have done! This gets quite frustrating to say the least.
Currently I have now reinstalled the .22 version of their firmware as they suggested. I has already had this version installed twice but it still cuts off the AC output at random. If it would work reliably then this would be a brilliant device however it does not.
I think there could quite easily be a language barrier as im dealing with a German company selling Chinese built products in the UK. What could possibly go wrong ?
I would not recommend anyone purchasing…
I would not recommend anyone purchasing products from this company. I purchased an EcoFlow Delta 1300 generator in 2022. I literally used the unit two times, before the battery stopped charging. Even though the system was out of warranty, I reached out to EcoFlow since the unit was obviously flawed. I proposed that in good faith, would they be willing to accept my unit back as a trade in for a refurbised comparable unit. I received no empathy. EcoFlow only tried to upsell me instead of acting in good faith on their faulty product.

Premium PowerOcean system
Premium PowerOcean system — but blocked and held for a paid "activation" fee
I bought a premium EcoFlow PowerOcean single-phase 6 kW system (inverter + battery) through EcoFlow's authorized dealer in Ukraine. The hardware is good, but my experience has been very disappointing for a premium brand:
I was sold an accessory (Junction Box, ~39,000 UAH) that the dealer insisted was "mandatory" — it turned out to be unnecessary. They admitted the mistake and refunded it.
I was given incorrect advice about the smart meter (recommended a Shelly, which is not compatible with PowerOcean).
Most importantly: after full installation, the system is blocked by Error 523 and will not start — the battery won't charge and the BACKUP output gives no power. It turns out the system must be "activated" by an installer via a Pro account, and this activation is a PAID service (2000 UAH, prepaid). I was never told at purchase that the system needs a paid activation to function at all.
So I now own a fully installed, premium system that I cannot use unless I pay an extra fee — something never disclosed before the sale. The system is online and the fix takes ~5 minutes remotely, yet I've waited days. This feels like the product is held hostage for a "ransom" fee.
I'd expect a premium energy brand to disclose mandatory activation costs upfront and to support customers, not charge extra just to make an already-purchased system turn on.

Good customer service
EcoFlow listened and understood my requirement regarding a warranty claim for a 220W flexible solar panel, and responded accordingly in a helpful fashion to replace the defective unit. Thank you Charlene at EcoFlow Customer Service for your close attention in progressing this matter, and I look forward to receiving the replacement unit shortly. Whilst unfortunate that a defect became apparent on the unit, overall I like the quality of EcoFlow products and have several other EcoFlow units (Delta 3, Extra Battery, Alternator Charger) that I am totally satisfied with.
EcoFlow Delta 3 Max Plus
I have bought an EcoFlow Delta 3 Max Plus and 500w Alternator charger for use in my campervan, this is much simpler to setup and use than a traditional leisure battery system.
I am extremely happy with the hardware and software, I have had cause to speak to support as I was unsure of the cable needed to access all features possible with the charger such as vehicle battery maintenance (reverse) charging.
My only negative and I did consider leaving 4 stars is due to confusion over product description / compatibility and response times on customer service emails.
The worst ever
The worst ever! After a month delay, my fridge and power station has arrived. And they just don't work. The fridge is not working on battery. And the power station turns on for 3 seconds gives error and goes off!

Waiting now about 1 month for sending back a Delta 3 Max. The Products are perfect but the Service doesnt work. Still waiting get told that i gwt a ticket for sending it back until know no communication any more. Very Sad
My disappointment with this warranty…
My disappointment with this warranty claim process began after I spent more than 30 minutes with customer support explaining the issue in detail and providing all the relevant facts regarding my Delta 3 Classic. Despite taking the time to thoroughly describe the malfunction and answer all questions, I received an email a few days later requesting additional documentation and photographs of the unit. This was frustrating, as I was under the impression that the information I had already provided had been properly documented and reviewed.
Since then, my experience has left me with the impression that the warranty process is being used as a protocol to avoid responsibility rather than to support customers when a product fails. Instead of receiving meaningful assistance, I have been met with repeated requests for information and a series of generic, hollow, and passive-aggressive apologies for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, these responses have done little to address the actual problem or provide a reasonable path toward a warranty resolution. All because the unit is in Cuba, I expected your company to stand behind its product and provide effective support when issues arose.

They don't deliver your order and they charge you for it
I ordered four 400W solar panels, along with the related accessories, mounting fees, a cable, and Seel transport insurance, for a total of around €1,000. I purchased these panels and the cable specifically to preserve the warranty of the two Delta Pro 3 units I had already bought from Costco Sweden, where they were 30% cheaper than on their website.
However, after 20 days, the panels had still not been shipped. Instead, the mounting items and cable were sent in three separate packages, forcing me to travel 180 km from my home to collect them. During this time, I made approximately 15 international calls from Sweden to Germany, only to be repeatedly told that my complaint would be passed to another team, without any effective resolution.
I then received multiple emails over a period of 10 days. In the first, I was asked to pay higher transport costs in order to receive the panels. I responded by asking that the panels simply be delivered within the 7–9 days timeframe stated on Ecoflow website. Instead, my order was cancelled, and I was refunded only 80% of the amount I had paid. I have contacted Ecoflow again and I am still waiting for a proper resolution. At this point, I am left with two Delta Pro 3 units but no solar panels to use with them and a lot of waisted time and money on Ecoflow Europe.
