About Account Verification

Verification in eToro will take approximately up to 5 business days if all the required documents are submitted.

During this time our teams will be going over the details and documents that have been submitted to make sure we verify your account according to the latest regulatory requirements.

Should we require any further information, we will be sending you an email to the registered email address with the required additions. These might include any issues with the documents submitted like a lack of details, or a problem with the eligibility of the document.

These are regulatory obligations from eToro as a regulated financial institution.

On Deposits at eToro

Deposits on eToro are divided into instant payment methods and ones that might take longer like a Bank Transfer.

Instant payments like Credit Card, e-wallets and others will appear immediately on your eToro account.

Other methods might take several business days to arrive depending on the payment provider chosen. When sending a Bank Transfer, please make sure to take the bank details from the eToro platform according to the chosen currency.

It is of the utmost importance to include the unique Transaction ID to allow eToro to efficiently recognize the transfer and credit your investing account.

Caution - 3rd party payments are prohibited. eToro will ONLY accept payments done from a method of payment under the eToro account owner’s name.

Key points on Withdrawals at eToro

Withdrawals at eToro have a flat fee of $5 USD. *Except in the USA where we do NOT charge a withdrawal fee.

A withdrawal in eToro has 2 stages. Once received, the request to withdraw will be processed by our teams within 2 business days.

Following the processing, a withdrawal will take an additional 3-8 business days until the funds arrive to the used method of payment.

It is important to note that this time period depends entirely on the payment service provider.

Emails will be sent at both stages confirming the request was received, that the withdrawal has been processed and to which method of payment it was withdrawn.

All about Trading/Market Disruptions

Trading disruptions are situations in which markets cease to function regularly, usually defined by fast and extensive movements in the market. There is no one specific reason for this - they can derive from unusual trading (such as a crash or a pump) or physical threats to the stock market.

No matter what the case is, trading disruptions are a result of the unusual conditions in the market, which can cause panic and disruptions to trading.

Why you might not be able to open or close a position during a market disruption

  1. Lack of liquidity, or inability to receive pricing from our liquidity providers
  2. A stock might be halted by the exchange
  3. Inability to open SELL positions due to an asset being “unborrowable”
  4. An unborrowable asset is an asset that won’t be lent out to short-sellers, which might happen when there is no one willing to lend out the asset.
  5. On eToro, the SELL side is not available when the asset is unborrowable.

  6. Extreme volatility on different asset types.

In general, when an asset is not available during halting periods, set order rates that are triggered (Stop Loss, Take Profit) during the halt will be executed on the next available executable rate when trading resumes.

If you want to lose your money to scammers

If you want to lose your money, go ahead.

They are day light thugs who offer you so called assets to buy and just so when they feel like it, they force sell your assets at a huge loss. And again just so when they feel like it, they reintroduce the same assets for sale.

Any big moves in the market and they immediately halt trading.

They have no shame and their so called customer service is non existent. It takes months to even get a generic reply.

I am extremely disappointed with the…



I am extremely disappointed with the eToro trading app due to significant performance issues. The core purpose of a trading app is to enable users to carry out trades on the go—something most traders rely on. By delaying at startup, the app defeats this essential purpose. I should not be forced to switch to a PC—your suggestion to do so is simply impractical.

More critically, during the time window between 2:00 a.m. and 2:20 a.m. yesterday, when the oil market opened and dropped by 6%, the app completely failed. I was unable to close my position, leaving me stuck at a crucial moment. This is a serious breach of trust—when clients entrust their life savings to a technology service, it must perform reliably. I urge eToro to fix these app delays immediately. Furthermore, I believe the FCA and the Cyprus Securities Exchange Commission should investigate this, as the integrity of your technology is paramount. I expect a swift resolution to these issues.

The CLOSED my krypto positions

The CLOSED my krypto positions. Without giving any warning or help move them to a wallet!!! Also speaking up on them. Writing the finansombudsman they closed my account for trading!!! And ALL my russian stocks are also keept as hostage.

My wife has lost £800 trying to open a…

My wife has recently tried to open a cash ISA on the eToro website.

She clicked on the applicable link for opening the cash ISA on the site after registering and it asked her to deposit funds which she did. However the funds went in to a USD investment account without any notification although her payment was from a GBP UK bank account. This meant that eToro converted her sterling deposit in to USD and also charged a currency fee for doing so resulting in a loss of £800 (4%) on the money she deposited.

eToro have basically advised her that she should know that all their accounts are USD accounts and that she readily opened an investment account even though she clicked on the cash ISA button on their website. We have since taken a video of the same and it clearly shows the link goes to opening an investment account but they were not interested in seeing it. I am guessing when we transfer out the money she will be charged again so is likely to lose another £800.

Please be aware that eToro appear to have been fined for a similar infraction in Italy and urge anyone trying to open a Cash ISA with eToro to not fall for the same issue my wife has had.

My wife is now going to have to complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service in order to recoup her losses and to show them the video of the website bug and the lack of transparency of their fees.
