Virtuo will find a way to charge you. They hit me with a £90 cleaning fee, allegedly for "very dirty conditions," backed by a single photo of some crumbs sent a full week after the rental.

Absolutely great experience with Virto
Everything was handled online through the app, which made the whole process very smooth and convenient. The app provided clear information and step-by-step guidance for the rental, including the car’s location in the car park, the initial inspection, and the return process.
I really appreciated that no credit card was required, and I was able to pay easily with Apple Pay. There was also no need to go to any rental desk — the car was ready in the car park right in front of the terminal at Nice Airport. The parking fee was reimbursed afterwards without any issue.
The car was practically brand new, very clean, and had modern equipment, including wireless CarPlay. I also liked the option to add zero excess insurance and extra kilometres. The deposit was returned quickly, as it was only a card pre-authorisation.
Overall, it was a great experience during our holiday in Provence, and I can highly recommend Virtuo.

Virtuo: The AI slop of car rentals.
Do not use Virtuo unless you’re 100% confident nothing will go wrong. If you need support, the app doesn’t work. You will be stuck talking to a chatbot in an infinite loop with no way to talk to a real person. I was stuck in a cold car park unable to access our car, which ultimately meant I had to cancel our Airbnb and find alternative accommodation at my expense, with no refund for my Airbnb.
Virtuo are beyond useless. It’s the AI slop of car rental. Go with a company with real people not chatbots.

I’d give 0 of I could. Wrongly got a debt company to chase me on 2024, who then apologised and said they closed the account. Now received same chasing emails in 2026 only again to be told they were incorrect and they have closed my account. Incompetent and broken cars. Please do not use or do so at your peril

Avoid Virtuo: €200 Charged Without Evidence
I rented a car from Virtuo at Nice Airport on May 16. Due to a malfunction in their app, I was unable to upload photos at the start of the rental.
Despite having no proof that I caused any damage, Virtuo charged me €200 for a tiny scratch. The only evidence they provided was photos taken three days before my rental began, which does not prove that I was responsible.
Although I exchanged several emails with them and had previously rented from Virtuo without any issues, they refused to refund the charge.

I started using Virtuo 3.5 years ago in Paris and had two seamless experiences. This past weekend I used Virtuo in Paris for the third time. Upon picking up the car, it had clearly not been cleaned — had a very dirty exterior and had clearly not been vacuumed or wiped down in the interior. Additionally, upon exiting the car park I had to pay €30. While Virtuo noted on pick up instructions this could happen and I’d be reimbursed, I would expect Virtuo to have a better solution to this. I submitted a reimbursement request and still have not heard back from customer service 2 days later. Customer service is an AI bot which is incredibly frustrating. The prices are comparable to big name rental companies and this experience was much less convenient and pleasant than I’ve had with them. Unfortunately, I will not be renting from Virtuo again.

Horrible. Rented a car, car was late and never came. Had to take a train last minute with my young child. If you have any plans dont relly on them. stay as far away as possible from Virtuo

Great experience. I loved how reactive the customer service is. We had a credit card issue to solve and the support was very helpful and unblocked the situation for us. The overall experience from first to last step was good. The app is very useful and makes it easy for you as it is very flexible.

Great rental experience with Virtuo. Huge choice of cars, reasonable prices, and they are honest about the deposit with no fake damage charges. The only downside is that some cars could have more options like ambient lighting. Overall, highly recommended!
