Alena, the agent on the chat was very helpful. I did still have trouble activating my account, but that was more my fault because I goofed on the first try and had to do several steps over again. I eventually got the anti virus program activated

Dealing with your ChatBot worked, though advice about S/W installation differs according to whether one renews before expiry date, or afterwards.This advice could have been preemptively offered, or else being asked whether app had date-expired, or not.

After purchasing a new MacBook Neo I decided to research the "best" antivirus/malware application to use on my new computer. I searched what I believed to be trust-worthy websites recommending the best application for Mac OS. I saw that Intego appeared to be one of the top recommendations and decided to view their website. Their website clearly stated that the interface was user friendly and they were having a discount for their Intego ONE for $97.49 for two years subscription. I made the purchase. My bank notified me that a charge was attempted by Intego for $97.49. I verified the charge and authorized it. After that I downloaded the application and thought I was all set. Not even the case! Intego has a horrible interface. It stopped my internet connection, blocked my email from downloading and would not download a web page, even their own website!!! After several (!) frustrating hours I decided that I did not want the subscription after all and would just uninstall it. That in itself was a fiasco!!! Using my phone I accessed their website and searched how to uninstall. The instructions that their website says to use was not what was on the application!!! I attempted to contact Intego and soon found they have no customer service phone number. All communication has to be through either AI or chat!!! I have contacted them three different times to get a refund and thus far have not received any type of email confirmation acknowledgment that a refund is in the process. Not only that, I found out they over charged me by $52.50! They charged me the full price of $149.99 for a two year subscription instead of the discounted price of $97.49! How they circumvented my bank is beyond me! I have complained to them and have demanded a refund. Funny how every.single.time I have gotten a support tech by the name of "Spark". In ever single interaction "Spark" says "rest assured, I will expedite your request for a refund". I don't believe that "Spark" is even a real person!
This company does not deserve to earn anyone's business let alone be given any type of acceptable review!!! They are scammers and thieves!
I am a 70 year old retiree and can not afford to lose $149.99 for something I can not use!!! This is entirely unacceptable! Go with Norton, Bitdefender or some other company because in my opinion, this company will just rip you off and not be accountable!!!

I have been a satisfied Intego customer for many years. What the has gone wrong with this once great product? Your website is confusing! Your ever-expanding bundled products seem designed to be confusing! Your checkout is confusing! Your installation processes with multiple emails are pushing the boundaries of confusion. What happened? I’ve been a happy customer for a decade or more. However, the issues I have had navigating and installing your latest product and upgrades have forced me to simply delete the lot. Problem solved! I cannot support such a company. I donate the remains of my subscription to the team dedicated to fixing this mess and I wish them well.

On 7 Jul (with definitions from 2 Jul) -- Intego VirusBarrier quarantined 3 PDF files created in 2023 using macOS Notes. It said the files contained "trojan TR/PDF.Agent". I was fairly confident it was a false positive, but I decided to select Repair All. It proceeded quietly. I was curious if the repair made the files unusable.

Upon looking for the repaired files (in their original location), I was shocked they were gone -- DELETED.

I immediately contacted Customer Support, and I was shocked even further. In their opinion, this was correct behaviour: delete PDFs, provide no dialog whether deletion was acceptable, provide no logging to state the files were deleted (logs just said Repaired).

Here are a few "enlightening" statements from Customer Support:

- PDFs are considered office documents. [Despite being created with macOS Notes.]

- No repair attempt was made because the VirusBarrier AVSDK 10.9.63 and later is expected to automatically delete these files. [No warning -- just delete, don't log, and don't inform the user.]

- VirusBarrier deletes these files. [OMG!!]

As I hunt for a replacement to Intego, I realise the review sites maybe are not real but paid advertising/click bait to earn the website some money.

BUYER BEWARE.

SCAMMY company. They emailed me to advise me that my subscription was due. They said to cancel the subscription that I should log in to My Account and do so. Their website falsely claimed I'd used an incorrect email to log in (the same email address they's communicated with me on.)

I wrote to them to advise of this issue and told them to cancel the subscription.

They ignored this message and took $100 from my account without authorisation. THEFT!

They have ignored all communication from me.

Thankfully PayPal will rectify this, but my advice is STAY AWAY from this SCAM company!

Product: backup manager pro

recently had a few issues with the backup so reached out to support, feedback i got was that mac was no longer supported? very poor customer service experience.

Scam Alert !! Purchased Office 2024 on Groupon. So product received. Through it was too good to be true. It was !!! Save your money.

Bought an Intego One subscription and account didn't show purchase. Credit card was charged. Support saw I purchased but had no clue on how to fix the problem. Support would only say someone would email in a couple of business days. Will not let you speak to person. Bad, bad service.

Intego's latest offering is heads above the previous VirusBarrier product. Everything is integrated into one app. And this is by far the least demanding on resources of any AM product I've reviewed.

Intego's website clearly states that "Intego ONE's free version provides essential protection against malware and other common threats for most Mac users. Unlike many free antivirus programs, Intego ONE offers ongoing protection without expiration or limited trials. "

I spent a long time on a Support Chat with Intego asking how I could obtain this, and ultimately was told that I would be getting an email with a trial offer for the full product. My concern is that Intego states free without expiration, and then it's not readily available? This is bait & switch. I informed the live agent that I don't need an email offering a free trial. I'd like to see the freemium (their word) version, thanks. At the agent's request I sent a screenshot of their own site showing their own info about it. It was then reiterated that I would be getting an email with a trial offer for the full product.

You don't have the freemium option available, that's ok, so take it off your own website please!

Just to warn everyone
Having being informed that I had an auto renewal against me I replied back to INTEGO twice that I had no auto renewal with them they failed to acknowledge my response. INTEGO have been informed by email that I will instruct my financial account provider to recover any monies taken without my consent.

Easy to purchase and clear information about the price and the next year's price.
