My experience was very disappointing. The agreed $33,000 payment has still not been made despite several reminders and follow-ups. Communication has been inconsistent, and the issue remains unresolved. Based on my personal experience, I recommend others to be cautious and make sure all payment terms are fulfilled before doing business.
As a global employer needing support for team members in almost every continent, with so many rules and so much red tape, its been so great to work with RemotePeople - the friendly and knowledgeable staff have reduced my headaches to 0 - and I can get on with the business of growing business!
We partnered with Remote People for our international expansion and couldnt be happier with the support received. Their Employer of Record service made hiring abroad straightforward and fully compliant. The team is responsive, knowledgeable and really take the complexity out of international employment. Highy recommend for any company looking to hire globally without the legal headache.

I'm employed through Remote People as an EOR in the UK and I've had terrible experiences over the past year.
Firstly, I needed several documents for immigration processes including my historical payslips. I noticed that the name on my payslip didn't match my passport and so I looked a bit more closely and realised that every payslip format and file name was different. The address displayed on the payslip was also year out of date even though I had updated it immediately in their UI when moving. I also work in HR software so these two things told me that they were storing my data offline with a third party; when I filed an official GDPR request to ask where my data was being stored and who was processing it they refused to give me a direct answer and instead replied vaguely that they are "working on improving their systems." It also took a week for them to update the payslips because it was being done by "their accounting firm."
Secondly, when I received my salary raise it took them over a week to process it. I had to chase them to send the letter after checking-in with my employer and them telling me they were waiting for RP. Once I signed the letter another few days went by and my RP profile didn't reflect the updated salary and I had to again chase them to make sure everything was updated to ensure there were no mistakes with my salary that month.
The next issue was that they didn't notice that my visa expired. I was managing my own immigration process so for me that wasn't an issue but I've had friends who have been employed through competing platforms where this has happened and they've had serious immigration issues. I had to reach out to Remote People several weeks after my visa expired and inform them that my status had been updated to avoid any compliance issues.
Finally, they've missed two pension payments so far in 2026. The first time I had to reach out to them directly in January and ask them why my contribution was missing; they claimed it was a known failed payment and it was already in process, it just happened that I reached out at the right time. The second time was this week and the payment is still missing and they've still not followed-up to correct their error.
Like most EOR providers they're just a slick looking UI with really poor, outsourced manual processes and unresponsive customer service. The thing that really frustrated and worried me was their complete lack of transparency and obfuscation around where my personal data was being stored and by whom. My advice is when working with an EOR service provider make sure that they have their own established entity in the market you're hiring in (not outsourcing through third parties) AND strong customer and end user feedback.
I'm in the process of offboarding from RP now and will update my review to include the offboarding process but since signing my resignation letter they've not given me any visibility into the next steps.

I rarely write reviews, but compelled to write one after an exceptionally good experience with Remote People. They made finding and hiring two key overseas employees incredibly simple. Great support too. Really, really impressive. Thank you to your team RemotePeople.

In addition to matching me with top-notch businesses, the platform made the onboarding process exceedingly easy. Thanks to their employer registration service, I finished all the onboarding processes in a timely manner. It was simple to begin working remotely because there were no difficult stages and clear and effective communication throughout!

I’ve had a really good experience with Horizons so far. The whole process has been super smooth, and anytime I had a question, someone got back to me quickly and actually helped (rare these days!). Everyone I’ve talked to has been friendly and easy to work with, which makes a huge difference.
Overall, I just feel like I’m in good hands. If you’re on the fence, I’d definitely recommend giving Horizons a try.

I have been using Horizons for close to 2 years. My experience is not that good. Email to their support team, they take more than 1 week or work 2 weeks to reply to you. Your message has been ignored. During the payroll period, worst still. They take super long to reply. Your message has been ignored. They selectively reply to your message. They do not provide you with a solution, but they go around the tree to reply to you, even when you ask a simple or straightforward question.

We were new to international hiring and frankly, terrified of messing it up. Their sales and onboarding team were incredibly patient. They didn't just sell us a product; they took the time to understand our goals and walked us through every sing step, from generating a complaint contract to explaining the statutory benefits in the new country. Great fist impression and they've lived up to it ever since.

RPL proved to be incredibly unprofessional. There has been no payment or appropriate communication following the completion of the assigned work. Numerous follow-ups were disregarded; this is not a reliable business to work with.

finished the project as planned, but money was never received. contacted several times; no definitive answer or solution was received. utterly disppointing and lacking in professionalism.

RPL has not reimbursed the render crew for their completed work. There has been no answer or resolution for weeks. Very unprofessional for a payroll service, and a completely disappointing experience.

I have received no updates and am still awaiting my payment. My emails and messages were totally disregarded by Remote People. I wouldn't suggest this payroll service to anyone because of the poor communication and lack of accountability.

My payment has been with held by RPL without any communication or updates. Payroll service is unreliable and extremely disappointing.

RPL is utterly unprofessional and unresponsive for not making the payment that is due. I wouldn't advise doing business with them.

I think only ego stops you to solve the issue, be professional and do it for your business

My experience has been great with Horizons due to the accessibility of its platform. As an employee, it is fundamental to have all my job information, benefits, paystubs, and vacation days all in one place, and that's what Horizons does: it helps to organize all this information and ends with the feeling that only HR has this info or I'm not in control of it.

Horizons’ platform enables a smooth and compelling experience: easy to navigate, offering an efficient and reliable customer support even when it comes to complex topics. Highly recommended!
