I looked into and tried the free version od many lyric video generators but was unsuccessful.Either becuse they were too difficult or too expensive.]
I tried KAPWING.WHAT A MISTAKE.Itried the free version, but was only alloowed so far into the progree and had to upgrade to finish the project.I chose £20 a month.I attempted over 12 projects to create a lyric vide.None of them worked.Subscription cancelled and £20 lost, which I cxan ill afford to lose being a pensioner.

STEER CLEAR OF KAPWING THEY ARE CRAP!!!!

I use Kapwing for the AI Voice and subtitles.
I like it better than ElevenLabs.
There were some problems but got them figured out
and was able to get credits back.
CS was very helpful.

Title: Refused to refund a service I never used – then blamed me for deleting my account

1 star, and only because zero isn't an option.

I tried Kapwing and the output quality was poor – not worth the money in any way. I forgot to cancel my subscription before the renewal date. The moment the charge hit my card, I logged in, cancelled the subscription and requested a refund. I did not use a single feature after the renewal.

To make sure there could be no "but you used the service" excuse, I also deleted my account entirely. That is where it gets ridiculous: their support then told me they would NOT refund me BECAUSE I had deleted my account. So a customer who cancels immediately, uses nothing, and closes their account in good faith is punished for it. That is not a policy, that is an excuse to keep money for a service that was never delivered.

Every reply I got was another reason why the refund was impossible. Not once did anyone acknowledge that I hadn't used anything. Customer satisfaction here is a zero. They will happily take your money and then hide behind fine print.

If you're considering this company: set a reminder to cancel a week early, and assume you will never see a refund no matter what you do. I would not recommend Kapwing to anyone. I lost my money – I hope this saves someone else from losing theirs.

Awful company. Waste of money. Their AI video editing tool is as competent as an infant. No refunds they say... Honestly, screw this company and their crap tool. It's just a Gemini wrapper anyway, so you'll get the same output for pennies.

Support is non existent. It appears as if they're just running some kind of scam. I mean, they do technically reply to the support email, but its a customer service person, not someone who actually works in support, or apparently even cares.
Their exports are broken, videos just straight up glitch.. no matter what format or size I export in. I liked the app, but it appears it just plain doesn't work. I tried emailing them, nothing. I'll have to dispute the charge with amex.
Dont waste your time.

This product is a real scam. I ask to build some video, never got what I asked for. Issue with the music, issue with the video. everytime I asked to rebuild it because the output was a real s***t, they charged me the token. Look like a product built to stole the money. People, really avoid it that money sucker machine. There are better products around, for sure.

Utter shambles. Not even the simplest of edits works without glitches and eating tons of credits. It needed 14 attempts to make a simple cut. It then lists all the things it will do - and then simply fails to do them. Waste of money and I expect a full refund or this will be an easy one to hand over to the solicitor

This is absolute garbage. DO NOT USE IT. You cannot edit anything in this. For example, if you attempt to change the timing of a clip, it will set it to something random and will change it no matter how many times you try to make it something you want. Or maybe you are trying to edit an image, obviously it's all locked behind a paywall. I swear, you cannot do ANY basic features on this without paying their stupid subscription fees. It is also so incredibly laggy, even with a high-end PC, it will crash and be unusable, even with very little media. Trying to export ANYTHING will give you a weird, distorted and broken version of the video you originally made. It's also so basic, with maybe the same features as an app like Canva. It also slaps a massive watermark on your video unless you pay money to remove it. It's also capped at just a MINUTE LONG unless you pay for longer. You can't do anything without paying, and even then, it is terrible. Honestly a waste of my time and effort. I honestly think you can save so much money and time by using something like Adobe. i cant export anything over 1 minute long, this website is trash and i do not recommend unless you want to spend all of your goddamn money.

They are not being transparent that it is a paid tool after 1 minute of music. It is shameful to deceive people like this.

I wanted my money back. Their AI sucks! It wouldn’t generate what I wanted. If someone wants to do a class action lawsuit for refunds we deserve. I am for it.

The website has completely screwed itself over. Like, how in the flying hell do you go from limiting projects from 4 minutes to literally 1 minute?!

I mean it still has its uses for like audio or video files that are like less than a minute, but what good is that if you can’t even make a full video that you put a lot of effort into making?

I hope whoever is behind all this crap speaks up cuz this is just completely unacceptable

Literally a scam. I wanted to make a trailer so I paid for the subscription. using nearly all my credit (800 credits). not only did it fail to make it, it stopped mid way and then asked for 800 more

I never signed up or even heard of them, but yet they’re trying to hit my credit card? More like scammers and business people if you’re asking me.

Kapwing is shockingly bad. There are much better ai video generator platforms out there. This is literally the worst and their customer support is awful.

I have been using Kapwing for 2 years.
They have an easy user interface but that is one of the very few positive things in the platform.

Their translation has VERY SERIOUS issues! I get an error "Failed to transcribe asset" at various times over the last months, when I choose the option "Auto detect language".

The auto subtitles from a Greek language video to Greek subtitles is ok. There are several mistakes however that could be avoided.

But when I want to translate a song or a TV series from English to Greek, the ultimate disaster happens and the translation breaks. For several seconds there is no translation and for some seconds I get no meaning.

The company used to give me one month refund in 2025, then they made it half month refund and now they do not give anything.

Just pay some serious developers to fix your serious bugs!

Google search results saying you are free, but you are not. Waisted time just to find on the last step that I must subscribe if I want export anything!

they are just a money trap. they offers free but its just a 2 credit notting enough to make something there for example subtitle edit cost 14 credits! so liars!
