We are the UK's largest membership organisation for private residential landlords, supporting and representing over 85,000 members. Our members own and manage around 10% of the PRS, equating to half a million properties. We provide the expertise, support and resources needed for a rental sector that works for all. We represent our members and actively recognise the contribution landlords make to the rental sector and the wider society, in the provision of safe, legal and secure homes.

I've started using the NRLA Portfolio system and needed help setting it up and had to call the Portfolio team several times. On each occasion the help has been exceptionally good. I can't recommend it enough.
NRLA is always there and willing to help. What more can I say - The Best.
Unfortunately the NRLA has increasingly become less and less help and less effective too.
Having been a member for over a quarter of a century I speak from experience.
The documents section is the only real reason I am still a member.
If you leave a negative review they simply don’t let it through.
In past times (when it was just the RLA) it was absolutely necessary as there was very little help for landlords. There is less advice now rather just repeating the law which we can easily obtain ourselves.
The old RLA with Dave Absolam and Martin was a force for landlords
Still would recommend the NRLA
The NRLA is exactly the same as it has always been, and that’s the problem. As time has gone on and requirements of being a landlord increase I find that the NRLA is increasingly antiquated and old fashioned. With new regulation we need more support actually getting involved in the compliance process rather than a big landlord Wikipedia, which is what the NRLA is.
While the phone support is good, the new platform they built is confusing and old fashioned. It’s bizarre that they have not built an app and it really says a lot about the organisation. There are better tools on the market that are more helpful.
I’ve switched to an app called August which helps with all the compliance and is free. The NRLA need to either lower prices or improve there software, it’s 2026.

i ve been a member for many years. but since their whatsapp support. I noticed some agents do not read accurately and end up not answering effectively our questions or are ignored. I kept asking for the purpose of the covering letter in relation to rent increase. just a few words would have been ok. this morning the office was on training so i could get no one on the phone.. whatapps support kept sending links and phone number. instead of answering briefly my question. spent so much time for useless support as not trained...disappoointing. sorry

Reading the article and feeling sorry for the tenants when they have it all, this organisation should.now be renamed as NRTA.

Great support as ever, that’s why, I have been a member for 18 years.
Positive, polite, very knowledgable ,
Like having a team of experts sat in my office with me, which validates the subscription 10 times over.
I have been letting for 30 years, and once the clever dicky establishment started poking their noses in, I knew it was time to have professional backing.

I received an email invitation to participate in a research session in exchange for a £25 voucher. I attended the Zoom meeting as requested, but afterwards I received no further communication regarding the voucher. I followed up several times via both WhatsApp and email and did not receive any response. Based on my experience, the lack of communication and follow-through has been disappointing and does not inspire confidence in the company's reliability.

This is the first time I’ve needed their advice, highly impressed with their response times and clarity of information, worth every penny of the Subscription.

Fast access to a human, when the virtual assistant was unsure. The human, Dolores, connected promptly and answered my question on the RRA immediately, setting my mind at rest.

This is a brilliant company. Their support is second to none in terms of legal issues and everything else. They have all manner of free templates on the site and I would not be without them

After trying to get information from a chatbot, which made me more unsure of my query, I spoke with an advisor. She was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and very professional. She answered my query immediately. Would definitely recommend.

£125 to join and the Portfolio tax manager is not free as advertised because the basic version wouldn’t be adequate for many. Anything useable costs extra and can’t be easily cancelled because the cancellation button is hidden and not clear enough. The Portfolio is very over complicated and important to note if using it for Making Tax Digital, it wasn’t one recommended to me by HMRC. I actually found a much cheaper MTD software by asking HMRC and they recommended one, which is cheaper, easier to use and has truly outstanding customer service. When trying to cancel my Portfolio it took multiple emails to the customer service advisor who didn’t initially cancel it as requested and I had to extract information to find the elusive cancellation button. The legal advisors are hit and miss - some good but some people unfortunately who don’t always give you proper advice. The newsletters are formulaic with no insight as is their magazine, which reads like an extension of government propaganda rather than asking questions or actually supporting landlords. The only useful element is being able to download tenancy agreements, which are good. I find the NRLA so utterly disappointing as it just feels they exist to push products to you rather than actually exist to help

NRLA is a fantastic support service for landlords and I couldn't recommend them enough. Best money I've spent.

The NRLA are an amazing organisation to support people in this field. Every time I receive advice be that by phone or using the resources on line , I am reminded how pleased I am to be a member. Today Maria was particularly helpful and went that extra mile to help me. Thank you Maria!! Highly recommend this organisation.

NRLA recommend Taxd for any accountancy advice but this company is impossible to contact and speak with. When I emailed taxd.co.uk I received an auto response saying the nrla group may not exist. When I go to Taxd's website you have to register and provide a lot of tax information. I quit at this point. I was hoping to use NRLA's Portfolio software along with Taxd services but I'm not prepared to sign up to a service without first confirming they can accommodate my particular circumstances. What is wrong with this world where you can't just talk to someone?
