Unfair cancellation policy
Emailed my membership cancellation as the site won't let you do it, then explained I hadn't been able to get to the gym for some time and expected that to continue. Then to my surprise another payment was taken as I missed the 30 day cut off by a couple of days. I reached out to see if they could reverse it in good faith and was told I could still visit the gym even having explained my reasons for wanting to cancel. Laughable really. Spoke to the Gym manager who just quoted the T's & C's which interestingly enough weren't explained at the point of joining funnily enough. Also said it was enforced at corporate level so would never be refunded. It does say they operate a fair cancellation policy and I wonder how charging for 1 months membership when I clearly explained I couldn't attend constitutes as fair. Lifestyle Fitness obviously thought making a quick buck was more important than trying to keep a customer that could return. If they'd have returned the payment there was every chance I would have signed up again when I had more time as I have been a member at this club twice now. Very disappointing customer service and an unfair experience. Think they need to work on their customer retention comms better!
P.S If Lifestyle Fitness just respond to this review by quoting their T's and C's instead of reaching out to do the right thing then it just proves my point.....

I've been a member of this gym for two weeks, and I'm really impressed. The gym is neither too big nor too small, which creates a comfortable atmosphere. It's clean, not overcrowded, and well maintained. I've attended a Pilates class and really enjoyed it. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. I also appreciate their strict policy regarding members under 16 years old

My local gym is now looking tired
My local gym is now looking tired - 1 machine not working now for months. It's not clean(p.s. it's not the PTs job to be the cleaners). The water dispenser is clearly tap water and at room temperature and the music is just what the incumbent 18 year old sitting at the desk doom scrolling wants to listen to. Generally the place lacks atmosphere and any welcome. I get the price is cheap so am not looking for fluffy towels but get back to a clean gym and everything working please.

Really good gym
Really good gym, always clean and well maintained. All the staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. The equipment is modern, clean and in great condition. Overall, a really nice place to train and I’m very happy with my experience.

Junior membership time
I think the junior availability times (latest 6pm) is terrible. My 13 year old daughter has rejoined and has hardly been able to go as I go after 6pm 3 days a week so shes unable to go with me and doesnt feel comfortable going along. The last time she was a member going with me wasn't an issue
