Hello.
I completely understand the appeal of solid perfumes or balm formats, as they are often perceived as more "artisanal" or natural options.
This is why I bought it.
However, when analyzing the formulation of this Nord Scents product through the lens of toxic load reduction, and their prevously "natural perfume" claim there is a fundamental issue regarding transparency and chronic exposure.
1. Extraction and Identification
The technical ingredient list (INCI) features a base of biocompatible botanical waxes and oils (such as almond oil, castor oil, and jojoba and sunflower waxes), along with antioxidants (Tocopherol) and several aromatic compounds (Limonene, Linalool, Citral, Geraniol, Anise Alcohol, Citronellol). However, the very first ingredient on the list is Parfum, and the second is Synthetic Beeswax.
2. Risk Assessment and Educational Breakdown
The biological risk of this product does not lie in the carrier oils, but rather in the generic nomenclature of its fragrance:
The "Parfum" Loophole: This term acts as an umbrella hiding hundreds of legally undisclosed chemicals, including phthalates and strong allergens. Without a complete breakdown of what constitutes this "Parfum," its clinical safety cannot be guaranteed.
Phthalates and Endocrine Disruption: The fragrance industry routinely uses phthalates as polymeric plasticizers and molecular fixing agents to ensure the scent lingers on the skin for hours. These compounds are endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) that aggressively alter androgen and estrogen signaling.
Pediatric Environmental Vulnerability: Applying perfumes with hidden phthalates contributes to the total sum of xenobiotics in indoor air. In a home with a young toddler, who is in the midst of active neural myelination and organogenesis, this is especially critical. The pediatric blood-brain barrier is structurally more porous, and infants breathe a higher volume of air in proportion to their body mass, facilitating the intake of neurotoxins and disrupting chemicals.
Isolated Allergens: Compounds like Linalool or Limonene are naturally found in pure essential oils. However, when they accompany a synthetic fragrance ("Parfum"), they are usually chemical isolates that can act as dermal sensitizers.

1. Safety Regulations & Phthalates
We want to reassure you that all Nord products are fully compliant with strict EU cosmetic regulations. Under these laws, harmful phthalates (often used as fixatives in other regions) are strictly prohibited. The "Parfum" in our products is IFRA-certified (International Fragrance Association), meaning it meets the highest global safety standards and is completely free of restricted toxic chemicals or hormone disruptors.
2. Synthetic Beeswax & "Parfum"
We chose synthetic beeswax purposefully to keep our products 100% vegan and cruelty-free, while maintaining the firm texture of a solid perfume. Regarding the term "Parfum": because fragrance formulations are proprietary, cosmetic regulations allow them to be listed under this umbrella term. However, any potential allergens within that blend (like Limonene or Linalool) are legally and transparently disclosed at the end of our INCI list.
3. Safety Around Toddlers
Our solid perfumes are designed to be "skin scents", they sit close to the skin and do not atomize into the air like traditional alcohol-based sprays. This significantly reduces indoor air exposure and inhalation risks, making them a much gentler option around children compared to spray perfumes.
We always recommend checking for personal sensitivities by doing a small patch test first. However, we stand behind the safety of our formula.

Delivery was failed somewhere before reaching the final destination. It is my second order, the first one was ok. Fortunately the support I received was immediate, and it was finally a delivery issue of the local delivery company in Greece.
