NO GOOD

Avoid. They are liars and thieves, colluding with the South African landlord at Ansvar House. He says he is a Christian, but lies and tells you he is a contractor. He leaves tenants to live in dirt as he does not want to pay for the building to be cleaned more than once a month. The front door was left broken for months, allowing for thefts. This is not South Africa. He left after Apartheid, about which he considers that the indigenous black people benefitted.

Oakfield sends teenagers for property viewings. They will mislead you regarding Zero Deposit. They will leave you in the building when there is a fire. They act under the veneer of decency and professionalism. But like the landlord, they are money grabbers, lacking integrity and selling their morality for money. They charge £85.00 to clean cobwebs!
AVOID.

Unreliable rental management

Oakfield also act as a rental management agency and offer very poor service.
Other than collecting rent - and taking their own fees from those funds - they do very little, beyond reminders for statutory requirements. Their inspection service is a farce and totally unreliable.
If you are a landlord who is looking for a managing agent for your property, my advice is that you avoid Oakfield.

I recently rented a property and I will confirm oakfield are the best, one of the staff Izzy took us through the whole process and it was so fast, she was patient and always respond to me so fast when I needed clarification and I appreciate that about her.

These agents attempted to steal my…

These agents attempted to steal my deposit (unsuccessfully thanks to the courts) and ended up costing the landlord tens of thousands of pounds.

They never did inspections, they never acted a single time on any repair work, lost the keys and got it wrong every step of the way.

Finally, when things had already gone terribly wrong, got some smug, dizzy woman called Emma denying everything, accepting zero responsibility as the appointed agent for the property and repeated lied about communications received.

Had to go to an independent tribunal to get my deposit back, the landlord remains massively out of pocket. Avoid at all costs.

I did write a prior (also truthful) review, which got deleted - so they are also trying to bury their poor actions.

We have reviewed your review and do disagree with some of the points raised therein.

We would like to clarify a few points. We did not, nor would we ever, attempt to steal any Tenants deposit. A claim was submitted on behalf of the landlord through the appropriate legal process, which is standard procedure, and the matter was ultimately resolved via independent adjudication.

In relation to the keys, these were not provided to us by the landlord when management commenced part way through the Tenancy. Property visits were conducted during the tenancy.

Sadly not impressed

The personal touch in this goes a long way. I signed up to sell through Oakfield because I was impressed by Darren and his professionalism. However, as soon as I was hooked, there was no more contact with Darren.
Then, if you are in touch with your solicitor (and why wouldn't you be?), why do you need constant contact from an agent who merely repeats what you already know? Very irritating.
Rant over!

I contacted Oakfields in December 2025…

I contacted Oakfields in December 2025 as myself & my daughter were looking for a rental property
within the Hastings area i made an inquiry by their online contact form.

Shortly as i received a phone call from Toby Ford (Lettings dept)
A very pleasant young man who furnished me with several properties with were available
to rent in Hastings.

He went through our details name & address etc affordability check etc

We looked at the properties sent to us directly after by email from Mr Ford
We then booked to see a 2 bedroom ground floor flat at Martins Court Hastings
the following day.

We met Issy the following day and viewed the property she went through all the
benefits of this property for us
Services etc
This helped us to understand and come to a quick decision to go forward with renting
Issy was a pleasure to meet she has a lovely welcoming manner and happy to ask any
questions we had on the day.

We then contact and advised we would like to go forward with the flat and spoke to
Toby Ford holding deposit was paid again Mr Ford had such a professional approach
but with a very approachable nature.

We then went forward with the application we then received all information needed
for credit checks and references from right move as well as our pre-tenancy information.

We are now the proud tenants of Flat 18, 2 Martin Court Hastings and could not be more
pleased with this stunning flat.

Firstly we would like to thank Toby & Issy & Jenny for all the help they gave us the
clear and precise information and supported us throughout
Keeping us updated at every point of our journey as i have a daughter who is registered
disabled as a parent it can in such situations be very difficult but our experience
with your office and your staff has been amazing and i wish to say thank you for all that
you did for myself & my daughter.

Oakfield have excellent staff. They constantly keep you updated, either as a landlord or property seller.

My journey with Oakfields was… truly awful

My journey with Oakfields was absolutely awful, they recommended the tenants they put into my property and within a month the calls started, having spent over 12k on the property to make it as lovely as poss for tenants and then Oakfields never completed 1 check on the property or tenants, they wouldn't let ne break the agreement when realised the tenants were from hell but asked to break it when they wanted to leave early, never told me they'd been put on 0% deposit. When tenants left they'd only claim 600 for me on the deposit then took out a 38 fee which they never told me about and so far to date I've paid just under 6k on damage caused by these bl@@dy tenants in 11 months of remting, I'm disappointed, disgusted, furious and would never use them again and this was on their most expensive management service they offer. Which is a complete joke except there was nothing funny about it. Wouldn't use them again if they paid me. Lost £1000's due to this company, absolutely unprofessional and my recommendation would be use another company.
If minus stars was an option that's what I would of given.

Absolutely shocking experience - AVOID

Absolutely shocking experience. From staff unable to answer simple questions, but expecting applications and deposits to be made without answering. To booking in viewings whilst properties have already been let. To advising no other properties available then seeing that’s pure lies, to then be told property is available and same price to find out it’s then £300 more expensive and completely different to one due to be viewed.
In addition to being sent emails for someone else - GDPR issue and requests for reviews on viewings that were cancelled. Absolute shocking show of a business - avoid! How this business have corner of the local market I’ve no idea!

Excellence from Oakfield

We have recently (April 25) let a property through Oakfield and at same time rented a property through them. The service from the whole team has been really fantastic, in particular Tia West, Izzy Cunningham and their Manager - Jenny Atabey. Jenny is ultra efficient and very personable, they all understand what’s needed and provide it without hesitation. Moving is the most stressful thing, but they all made it easy peasy.
