We would give this company no stars if we could. For all those giving it 5 stars on this site due to the fact it is easy to use to insure, we would have too. Wait whilst you need to make a claim. Awful, abysmal or any other word doesn’t describe the service.
My husband has his watch snatched off his wrist in Barcelona. It was reported immediacy and Ripe have been provided with, Barcelona police report and incident number, proof it’s been reported stolen on the Rolex data base, pictures of the box bearing serial number, the outer box bearing serial number, the Rolex certificate with serial number, pictures of him wearing the watch, proof of purchase. We have been subjected to an in depth interview in our own home where we presented the actual box, certificate, original police report etc. We were asked about other possible insurance that may cover it and I showed the rep the home insurance policy covering specific items up to a certain value that absolutely did not cover the watch. Since his visit we have been asked to send copies of our home and contents insurance and of our holiday insurance. We have complied with every request. Despite all of that evidence and documentation they have today asked if we have any photographs from the day of the theft of him actually wearing the watch on that day. They hide behind under writers, the Davies Group, Hiscocks but are still larger than life advertising insurance under Ripe insurance.
My husband was robbed in Barcelona! Never once have Ripe asked him if he’s ok. All they are doing is trying to find any avenue not to settle this claim. We feel like they are treating us as liars! What more evidence do they want? Police reports from Barcelona are not made up. Registering the watch and its serial number as stolen on the Rolex data base isn’t of any benefit if the watch hadn’t been stolen. This is a truly dreadful company. I have my own policy with them that I have had for multiple years. Fair to say I wouldn’t even consider renewing with them.
Under FCA rules insurers must handle claims promptly and fairly. This lot clearly don’t give one hoot about rules or the customer. They may be great at taking your money to insure but they are absolutely appalling when you need to make a genuine claim. You are treated like a criminal with no compassion and only suspicion. Keep away from this lot.

As an insurance broker, our role is to arrange and administer policies on behalf of our customers. Claims are assessed by The Davies Group and their appointed claims handling specialists, who are responsible for gathering information and making decisions in line with policy terms and regulatory requirements.
In this case, we understand from the Davies Group that they have been actively engaged in reviewing the claim, along with the Underwriters of the cover, Hiscox Underwriting Ltd, and have been in contact regarding the information required.
We understand that providing additional documentation and answering further questions can feel burdensome, especially when you have already supplied substantial evidence. However, it is common practice for claims handlers to request further information as part of their investigation process, particularly for high-value theft claims, to ensure they have all the information needed to reach a fair and informed decision.
We are sorry that you feel your concerns have not been acknowledged appropriately. Please be assured that neither we nor the claims team seek to imply wrongdoing by customers who submit claims. The purpose of any enquiries is to establish all relevant facts before a decision can be made.

Since having my watch stolen from my…
Since having my watch stolen from my wrist, Ripe and the David Group have been non communicating with me chasing throughout. I waited 4 weeks, sent everything requested and then a further 3 weeks. I have had an interview at home and still wanting more information when it was provided. Really awful
Service and still no answers to my claim. Would never use them again and won’t be renewing our other policy in October.

Don’t bother referring a friend
Policy was fairly low cost, however I referred a friend once and also promoted it to others who were interested, at that point Ripe said they could no longer insure other units on the site I’m on. When I contacted them, note (staff were very unhelpful ) they said it was due to the underwriter and they couldn’t insure my site. There have been no claims on our site so basically their “refer a Friend” is FALSE
I now have no peace of mind, should I need to claim or renew .
Their response is utter rubbish, already spoken to them it confirms my loyalty to them and their failure to my very upto date knowledge there are only two units insured with them. Joke !
Their online service is also slow spent hours trying to sort a login problem out, eventually they gave a telephone number but it’s very well hidden if it’s on their website

Each insurance provider has its own acceptance criteria, rating, and risk appetite. Unfortunately, due to the volume of caravans we insure per site, the risk becomes greater. This would therefore mean we have a limit on how many we can insure per site. Regrettably, this isn't a decision we're able to override.
We appreciate your feedback, and thank you for your custom over the past few years. You can continue to renew with ourselves, as this would only apply to a new quote at the storage postcode, not your policy itself.
