Thanks for making ISA & STRC available!
Thanks for making ISA available for UK users and for adding STRC, as well as Strategy's other preferred stocks here. Now I can recommend Robinhood to my family and friends. PS. My first dividend from STRC will arrive by the end of this month and it seems like I'll get the full 11.25% yield, no 15% US withholding tax.
Just not competitive compared to the competition
Having used Trading212 for almost my whole investing career, but having heard of Robinhood I must admit I have been curious for a while if the grass is greener.
Recently Robinhood have added much more functionality to their UK variant - namely cash sweep and a stocks and shares ISA and have even added an incentive to join and add cash to gain a cash bonus.
While all of this is all good and dandy, my wish for this being a legitimate competitor to Trading212 was sadly not met. While all of the incentives and bonuses are great, once you start going into the fine print you fairly quickly realise that all is not as good as it seems:
* You get the 2% cash bonus on the ISA, but you have to hold your funds for 1 year to keep the bonus.
* Cash sweep (interest on uninvested cash) is available, however only on USD and only on the invest account
* ETFs are not supported
* All stocks are in USD so you will have to battle FX fees
And probably more issues that I have yet to discover or have already forgotten about.
Robinhood may be a great platform if you're an American and while I do appreciate them stepping up their UK branch, sadly it just isn't up to par with other platforms like Trading212.
I will be looking to close my account and move back to Trading212 in full capacity, but maybe in the future will consider coming back if I see some more positive changes.
Edit: Now reduced from 3 to 1 star.
I have come back to update my review following a terrible interacion I have had with Robinhood support.
As alluded to by my initial review, due to how uncompetitive Robinhood is in the UK I have decided to transfer my portfolio, however the staff seem to either be purposefully belligerent or just incompetent.
I started the transfer process on the 24th of February and it has now been over a month and the transfer is still not done, with the support team continuously passing me around without actually resolving the problem.
I was already not impressed with Robinhood, but with this I am even less inclined to use them now or ever in the future.
I will be making a formal complaint the Financial Ombudsman if this is not resolved imminently.
Low Fee’s & Ease of Use
Robinhood’s app offers very low fees and features a pleasing UI, making it easy to navigate. I would highly recommend it whether you’re new to investing or more advanced.

Promising brand, but poor UK execution
As a UK user, I find the Robinhood app disjointed and difficult to use. Portfolio tracking is unclear, with currency switching inconsistently between GBP and USD across different screens.
There’s no clear high-level overview of performance, and key information feels hidden rather than transparent. The app also surfaces companies I’m not invested in, which creates unnecessary confusion when reviewing results.
Overall, the platform needs significant refinement and currently doesn’t compare well to Trading 212. The lack of UK-focused features — particularly ETFs and a Stocks & Shares ISA — is a major drawback.
