Sheerwater glass promptly supplied 2 standard sheets of 3mm greenhouse glass at a reasonable price. They went the extra mile and slighly rounded the edges so that the sheets could be handled without gloves. Staff efficient and helpful.

Very poor experience – would not recommend
We had a very disappointing experience with Sheerwater Glass. Prior to the Velux windows being installed, we had no leaks at all. As soon as they were fitted, both windows began leaking.
What followed was months of back and forth, with repeated attempts to avoid taking responsibility for what an independent roofer confirmed were installation-related issues. Instead of accountability, we were met with deflection, delays, and an approach that made an already stressful situation far worse.
The work was expensive, yet the customer service was inconsiderate and, at times, rude. We’ve only just been able to move forward with repairs after a long and draining process.
Based on our experience, I would not recommend Sheerwater Glass. Poor workmanship, lack of ownership, and an extremely difficult customer journey.

Ruslan was impressive - an excellent repair
Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Had a major problem as the window wouldn’t shut. I was very impressed, as I was provided with a quote soon after contacting the company. Work was completed by Ruslan who sorted the problem quickly and to a very high standard indeed - this involved removing the window to then replace the locking mechanism plus top hinge.

1st Class after sales service
I purchased a front door 5 years ago, recently I noticed that very cold drafts coming into the house from the door. Thank goodness we had a 10 year guarantee. Carris in the office and Rusland the engineer supported me in getting the door replaced. 1st class after sales service. Thanks Carris, Rusland and Sheerwater Glass. 1st class teamwork

Legendary customer service and response time.
We've used Sheerwater before for security doors, front doors, and windows, and they've always done a fantastic job with great aftercare.
This definitely deserves a 5-star review. During some emergency travel plans, our old security door (installed before Sheerwater's time) wouldn't shut properly. We needed to lock up and leave, so I called Sheerwater and Phil promptly arranged for an engineer to come out later that day, and within a few hours, the problem was fixed. The door now works perfectly. Even though it was a small job, fitting us in last minute during a hectic time made such a huge impact to us. Sheerwater's customer service is top-notch, and there's always a personal touch when dealing with Phil or anyone on the team. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend anyone else and will continue to use Sheerwater for their services! Superstars!!!

Great customer service and communication throughout
Very efficent service from getting in touch with Sheerwater Glass right through to the finished job. Good communication at each step. Nick who came to replace my double glazed window was very friendly and respectful. It was nice to have him carrying out the work, he cleaned up after finishing the work leaving everything as it was before he started the job.

Top notch product and service.
We have had numerous parts of our house windows and doors replaced by Sheerwater Glass. The reasons we keep going back are firstly that they supply great quality doors and windows, secondarily that their staff are efficient, clean & courteous and finally - the icing on the top - their after sales service really is top notch. I have no hesitation recommending Sheerwater glass to anyone thinking about replacement windows / doors or indeed any other new renovation or building project.

My tenant had a small child sleeping in a bedroom with a window which had a broken hinge and the outside temperature at night was sub-zero. So, feeling under a moral pressure to deal with the issue quickly I (stupidly) accepted Sheerwater Glass’s quote.
I was charged £180 to replace 1 window hinge.
Never again!

Thank you for your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the cost of the work carried out.
To clarify, the cost was quoted to you via email three weeks prior to the appointment. You subsequently called our office and gave verbal instructions to proceed, at which point we contacted your tenant directly and booked a mutually convenient time. We only went ahead with the work after receiving your approval. It’s also important to note that we did not request any deposit upfront, and we arrived on the agreed date and time to complete the job to a high standard.
Following your feedback, I personally called you to explain the reasoning behind our pricing. While I understand your opinion that the work should have been carried out for £41 plus VAT, which was based on misleading information presented on the Checkatrade website, I tried to clarify that our pricing reflects more than just materials and direct labour.
Our costs also account for National Insurance and pension contributions for our service engineers, the support provided by our administrative team—who are employed to quote, book, and manage appointments—and the operational costs of running the business. These include insurance, fuel, communication equipment, the vehicle the engineer arrived in, and the tools required to complete the work.
As I’m sure you’re aware, Sheerwater Glass has been trading in the local area for over 54 years. While we may not always be the cheapest option, I genuinely believe we offer good value for money through the quality of our service, products, and workmanship.
We strive to be transparent and fair in our pricing, ensuring that we can maintain the high standards our customers have come to expect. If you would like to discuss this matter further, we would be happy to review your concerns.

One of their drivers failed to stop ar a pelican crossing in Woking today believing he is exempt from road laws. Obviously didn't realise he had his company named on the side of his van. Sadly didnt get his number plate as would have forwarded to the police.

Poor communication and no availability in addressing issues once they got paid
My experience with this company has not been great
We contacted them to have 5 windows installed and initially they sent us a quote.
As per initial quote, 2 out of 5 windows were sash windows. We asked them for a specific pattern and they said this would not change the quote compared to the plain sash windows included in the initial quote and we agreed these would be installed
They installed instead the 2 plain sash windows, and not those with the patter we agreed on.
When raised the issue, they to downplay the mistake and offered no solution or compensation for the inconvenience caused.
Due to this poor communication and management of issues occurred, I would not recommend them

Regarding your project, we provided and installed the windows as per the signed contract, which clearly reflected the agreed design, including the absence of the Astragal bar you later requested. After the installation, we provided a solution and the cost difference for adding the bar, but this was declined. We regret that this outcome did not meet your expectations.
I also noticed that your review mentioned concerns about workmanship and tidiness, which were not raised with us during or after the installation. We take pride in the quality of our work and our team’s efforts to maintain high standards of tidiness. We would appreciate any additional feedback you could provide on this matter to help us improve further.
