Great company, competitive price.

First visit to assess the roof and layout by company owner Dave was pitched just right. A very experienced electrician, he explained the whole subject in a clear and simple way, and not at all pushy.
The scaffolding was outsourced to a local company. The panels arrived by a friendly guy who said he’d driven from Warsaw. Warsaw? No mate, Warsaw. Took me a while to decipher Walsall.
Iwan & son with faithful dog Willow (very stick-friendly) set up the panels, boxes and circuits as neatly and tidily as you could wish. Couldn’t ask for a better set-up. Also Iwan did a quick DIY job free for me and later gave great advice in a follow-up call.
NB If you want to be able to use your battery in a power cut you’ll need an extra system (e.g.EPS) to isolate your house from the grid automatically while the grid’s down. I thought it was worth the extra cash.
I doubt you’ll get a better service or neater job than you’d get from Solar North and their engineer Iwan, all at a competitive price. Trustworthy and highly recommended.

Solar North did my instalation 2 weeks ago , a few snags at first and all sorted straight away by Iwan. Dave was allways helpfull over the phone if there was a problem. the instalation consisted 16 solar panels on top of my garage roof with a Fox 5kv inverter and a Fox ess 12kv battery all now work flawlesly together.So an all in excellent company. I highly recommend them.

I couldn’t be happier with Solar North. From the initial design right through to installation and aftercare, everything has been excellent.
Other companies quoted me systems that would only generate around 1.8kW and said my setup was too complicated for anything more or even to install. Solar North designed and installed a system that’s now generating close to 5kW and even managed to fit extra panels where others said it was impossible.
The installation team, Josh and Joe, were brilliant – excellent workmanship, friendly, helpful, and professional. Any small issues that came up were sorted straight away.
Even the aftercare issue (which wasn’t their fault – the app needed a couple of firmware updates) was resolved quickly and efficiently by the team liaising with Foxcloud ap tech team.
Top-quality company with genuine expertise and brilliant customer service. From survey, design, installation and aftercare I couldnt recommend them anymore!

If you want to add solar panels and heat pumps to a period property you need an experienced contractor. The Solar North team are easy to work with, considerate of property, MCS accredited and really good at what they do. The entire process took a while because of factors beyond the control of Solar North, but good support when things dont go to plan is where reliable trustworthy contractors make the difference.

Probably like many people we spent quite a time asking ourselves "Shall I? Shan't I?” and finally we decided to take the plunge and go for solar panels. Dave Jones and Solar North came strongly recommended. Jonathan came to see us and within a very short period we received an in depth report of our energy usage and a technical specification for 16 solar panels linked to a 23kw battery. From the word go, Jonathan was particularly keen to ensure that we fully understood the technical stuff and he did this with friendly good humour.

The installation was carried out within the space of a week and Iwan and his apprentice were absolutely delightful. They did a very tidy job and once the work was complete they took us through the app and showed us that already our on-grid consumption was on its way down. It has been quite hard not to get addicted to looking at the app - but I can report that after just a little over three weeks we are now using more off-peak than standard electricity (today's reading was 83% to 17%) and the off-peak percentage is increasing every day. I can see that our electricity bills have come crashing down - and that's with a power-thirsty electric car too!!
After nearly a fortnight of using solar energy I had to get after Dave to ask for his invoice! There was absolutely no pressure at all and he subsequently provided us with all the information as to how to sell our (considerable) surplus energy back to the grid.

This has really been a very positive experience. We are truly grateful to Dave and Jonathan and to Iwan for their superb and highly professional dealings with us, and I have no hesitation in commending Solar North most highly.

Really impressed with the whole process. No hard sell hassle, just came round and had a look. Discussed the options and which way they suggested and followed up with an email quote a few days later with no pressure. Just a polite 'Any Questions?' type follow up.

Install was a dream: Scaffolding up, install, scaffolding down the day after they finished.

Kit works well, good tidy quality of install with a good crew. Whole heartedly reccommend them.

My solar storage battery went dead. Giv Energy weren't responding - turns out they've gone into administration. My installer firm had also been sold so couldn't / wouldn't help.
So I found Solar North and phoned. Within a couple of days they called in, correctly diagnosed the problem, got the battery working again along with the app. All without any fuss and swiftly. We discussed my heat pump requirements for my extension and look forwards with confidence for them doing the works.

They turned up on time did what was promised to the agreed price. What more can you ask it was prompt efficient service with no problem and cheerful staff

We ordered another GivEnergy battery from Solar North. It was delivered and installed 3 days later.

Good communication and easy to deal with. Also the standard of workmanship from the plumber on servicing a ASHP system was excellent. He even found and tightened up a loose fitting on the hot water tank. A rare find on what is still fairly new technology (within this country).
