Absolutely shocking customer service
Absolutely shocking customer service. Booked and experience through Tripadvisor whilst away on our honeymoon. The trip was nothing like as described, shorter than the advertised time, incorrect meeting point details were provided and the trip itself was incredibly unsafe and not fit for purpose. Contacted Tripadvisor to try and get a resolution to this and they were not interested whatsoever. Avoid avoid avoid
Disappointed
They did not let me say what I really think, they keep removing genuine feedback at various pretexts, removed several my posts overjust this one month
UK is not the US.
Well, the Trip Advisor 'site can be a little confusing but with a bit of searching you can usually find what your looking for.
Until now.
I searched, 'things to do in Gloucester'. I tried adding England, then UK. But all results come from USA.
Even Viator had UK and US, on the same page.
Trip Advisor needs to realise that the US is not the World.
Bad experience with tour booking.
I had had an account with Tripadvisor since 2009. I have booked numerous tours through their website. This was without incident until today. I was not happy with last minutes changes made to a trip I had booked. Had these changes been made more than 24 hours before the trip, I would have cancelled and obtained a refund. Because, I believe cynically, the operator made these changes late, no refund was offered. Upon making a complaint, you are passed on/redirected to Tripadvisor’s sister company: Viator. I consider the complaint handling system simply acquiesces to the operator’s actions and gives every appearance of going through the motions. I will not use either Tripadvisor nor Viator again. I have deleted my account with the former. It is a great shame but I can see no reason to use a service that is supposed to support customer service experience where the trips they offer whether via the Tripadvisor or the Viator platform seem to offer scant meaningful consumer protection.Better to book tours independently.

Picks and chooses what reviews go up
I have been adding a review on Tripadvisor for a hotel I stayed at last week.
The review was a negative review about a hotel we stayed at.
We had photo evidence as proof of everything we were saying.
Tripadvisor has removed my review and won’t let me review the hotel and has also done this to other members of the family.
Supporting the hotel over its guests.
My review was a honest review of my experience of that hotel.
This has questioned my views of tripadvisor. I would always go to Tripadvisor for reviews of hotels / restaurants etc but if they pick and choose what goes on and removes any negative / honest reviews because a company doesn’t like the review their reviews are not valid and are all lies.
Tripadvisor have replied yet still do not allow me to add a review about the hotel

What a poor service this lot run
What a poor service this lot run.
I left a review of a restaurant I went to, it was written with accuracy from the experience I had, for some reason tripadvisor decided they didn’t want my review so have now banned me from leaving reviews lol. THF are they doing? Isn’t that the whole idea of tripadvisor? Let people leave reviews on places you’ve been? Basically they are picking which reviews they want and banning the rest. What a mockery of a review system.

What a load of rubbish. The review was correct, it was factual, with no swearing or mentioning names.
It was a true review of my experience at the venue I reviewed. My guess is the venue didn’t like my poor review and got in contact with you and you decided to remove it.
When you do things like this it makes you wonder how many other reviews have you taken down? All it means is trip advisor is very inaccurate as you remove the bad reviews left. No point being a review company if you remove the reviews the companies don’t like as it will end up being all good reviews which makes trip advisor a false information page.

Absolute shambles
Absolute shambles. I was a very regular user of Tripadvisor and was also keen to check out reviews of accomodation or cities that I was travelling to, I also contributed many reviews myself and achieved quite a few recommendations and kind messages from people thanking me. However the site is now a total shambles - all down to AI, I was trying to check out accomodation in a few cities as I am planning a long journey, but it is hopeless - Tripadvisor no more !!

Seven Pound Carvery, Seven Pound Quality and Service...
Wolviston - Hartlepool Branch - Lots to improve. Waitress service was poor. Asked for tap water, did not receive it. Asked a passing waitress also for water, she didn’t bring it either. I had to ask a third time for the water to finally arrive.
Secondly there were flies buzzing around the gravy and sauce counters in full view, no staff were there to do anything about it.
Thirdly, the ice cream was horific, it was gritty and icey and not at all smooth. When I queried this with our waitress she said the ice cream machine had a fault. Why were we charged for below standard ice cream? If the staff are aware that the ice cream is below standard, then why are they serving it? They should have been honest and suggested something else.
I’m aware there is a £7 promotion running, but that doesn’t mean you have to lower the standards in food and service to match. Front of house should be on top of these things, instead they lack at prowess on the things that really matter.
Deeply frustrating experience
I’ve had a deeply frustrating experience with TripAdvisor regarding what I consider to be serious concerns about management comments on a business page. The comments in question were in my view, nasty, belittling, and at times borderline bullying in tone. I raised this with TripAdvisor expecting some level of understanding or review of the full context. Instead, I was met with an inflexible process that did not take into account the scale or seriousness of the issue. Rather than reviewing the email chain or assessing the situation reasonably, I was repeatedly instructed to report each individual comment one by one. With over 50 separate comments involved, this approach felt completely impractical and showed a lack of willingness to engage with the broader issue being raised. It was disappointing that there appeared to be no effort to read the full context or acknowledge the pattern of behaviour, only a rigid requirement to process each item individually, which placed an unreasonable burden on me as the reporter. Overall, my experience has left me feeling that there is a gap between TripAdvisor’s stated commitment to safe and fair platform use and the actual support provided when serious concerns are raised at scale.

Tripadvisor, don't belive anything they say
Tripadvisor - A very amateur outfit, not sure what their overall plan and vision is meant to be. They have no communication skills, they do not understand simple questions and queries. They are quite obtuse. As an aside the 2.1 overall rating out of 5 suprises me in that it seems high.

Been using Tripadvisor for years
Been using Tripadvisor for years. Left many honest reviews to assist other users. The website and App seems to have changed though. When leaves recent reviews my typing was terminated after only a few words. This happened several times meaning that the review had no context. However, the business owner was able to leave paragraphs in reply but there is no way to respond to their message, to edit my own review or to contact them via Tripadvisor which would be a safe environment. I know I could use their contact us details on their website, oh yeah already done that and they choose to ignore that. So Tripadvisor, why not allow members a right to reply an reinstate the edit facility rather than just forcing reviewers to delete the original review?
Come on Tripadvisor up your game if you want to be treated seriously.

Fake News
Gave up up on this travesty of a “reliable” travel advisor years ago ; any restaurant or hotel has these spectacular 5* ratings and you click on the reviewer…they have been a member for 8 years and this “glowing “ review is there one and only ? You “report” the review ( every single time ) … while appreciating your concerns, it meets our posting guidelines ??
They don’t give a flying F.

TripAdvisor cannot be trusted for accurate ratings.
TripAdvisor cannot be trusted for accurate ratings. A hotel recently cancelled my booking at the last minute, claiming "maintenance." However, when I passed by the property I saw absolutely no maintenance work. Because this hotel has duplicate listings on TripAdvisor (which I also raised to Tripadvisor and was ingored), I strongly suspect it was an overbooking situation.
When I tried to leave a review to warn other travelers, TripAdvisor repeatedly and quietly deleted my feedback without any warning or explanation. Because their policy requires a "first-hand experience," they use this as a loophole to erase reviews about last-minute, bad-faith cancellations. In this way, TripAdvisor curates a falsely positive environment and protects dishonest hotels instead of helping travelers.

Don't rely on opening hours published by TripAdvisor
I submit amended opening hours for two pubs which, despite what TripAdvisor says, they were actually closed for lunch today. The amendments were based on information published on the pubs' own websites but TripAdvisor decided they knew better and declined the amendments.

Tripadvisor review
I hate it when it keeps saying ‘Please reload the page’ when I DID reload it. Even adding ‘Something went wrong’ before the reload the page bit is bad, even when nothing went wrong at all.
