I chose Underwood Electrical because they were certified in the technologies relevant to my car charger install.
It was important they understood the need to separate the charger from my existing Solar and Batteries so the batteries were not drained by the car charging.

I am more than satisfied.

I first contacted Jason at Underwood Electrical about 5 years ago to price up some solar system options, Jason spent a while going through a few various options but I didn't proceed at the time as I decided to wait until some other building work was being done.

This year I got back in touch was Jason and again we refreshed my quote and updated the equipment, making several changes until we were both happy with the system. He was then able to tie in his roofing team to install the 24 in roof panels at the same time that my own builders were ready for this to happen after installing a new roof. He then gave me plenty of time to get the other building work completed before his son and team came to complete the on site install of the Sigenergy inverter and 2 x 10Kwh batteries.

The whole install was completed to a very high standard (and I am quite fussy!) and is already generating more power than I could have expected. The kit he suggested and fitted was all top quality based on his teams vast experience of what works in the real world.

I would thoroughly recommend Underwood Electrical to anyone looking for a solar install!

From the first point of contact to the end of the installation it was seamless. We had batteries and an EV charger installed. Great team, professional, polite and clean workers. Nothing was too much trouble. Once the installation was complete, a full explanation of the app and how to get the most from it was given without rushing while giving reassurance.

I was really impressed with Underwood from the initial quote and meeting with Jason, all the way through the process of getting grid approval and then finally the installation.
Sam and Ellie did a smashing job of the installation and I really can’t recommend Underwood or the sig battery they fitted highly enough. The workmanship is outstanding, everything is really neatly done - it was a joy having the guys on site for a couple of days.
An investment in solar is a massive thing, from someone who spoke to at least six different companies including octopus and other local firms about solar, I found Underwood to be the best, they listened, advised, didn’t try to sell me something for the sake of it and really took the time to understand and analyse what I wanted before suggesting a solution, Jason was great to deal with and I found the site visit really helpful rather than just a chat over the phone and someone checking my house/roof based on what they see on Google maps.
I have had the system running for about a week now and I would thoroughly recommend Underwood and the Sig battery. It speaks volumes that neighbours have seen the quality work these guys have done and have also taken the plunge into the solar world.

Prompt service, great communication, helpful and efficient engineers, restored faith in booking on line service's, Jason and his team are an absolute joy to complete the tasks required.

Had a solar array and Sigen battery installed by the team great job from start to finish. Clearly experienced in what they do and able to give the correct advice for the best solution.

On two seperate occasions i have had a battery storage and solar system installed on my house by Underwood Electrical Ltd. I decided to go with Underwoods proposal despite being a little more expensive than the quotes offered by energy companies as they offered a bespoke solution that was designed for my house and its load demand. I didnt want a system that was designed on a perfect house in a test centre that does not reflect how my solar array would capture the sun. I have no regrets what so ever, the performance exceeded expectations and the standard of work is A++. I would highly recommend them to those considering renewables.

I had my solar panals installed in August by Jason and team . What I needed prior to the work being done was a face to face consultation with the firm . Jason called to see me and he is an excellent communicator so every question was answered fully . I needed the whole concept explained. I had a quote from the larger energy company OVO and they were not happy to call face to face and the quote changed within 3 days . Jason gave me a total of 4 options and I was able to consider them . I had an independent electrician who viewed both OVO and Underwoods and agreed Jason’s would suit my house and energy usage .
Sam and team kept me updated on what was happening on the roof and the battery and inverter were located in the garage.The team were hard working and polite and checked with me on certain details . I would recommend Underwoods 💯 %. Nothing was too much trouble and after the work has been completed I am reassured I can call Jason if I need anything . Although I’ve only had 1 full months bill for the same period last it’s £60.00 less . It’s s long term investment and Iam looking forward to saving money as time passes .

Underwood Electrical were brilliant on their quote, their efficiency on fitting our panels. They have been at the end of the phone for questions we raised, even months after. I would 100% recommend them to anyone.

I've had two installations completed by Jason and team, the first was in 2024 when I had a Givenergy battery system and the second in April 2025 of solar panels.
On both occasions I was very pleased with the whole process from start to finish, and continue to be happy with the results, which have transformed my energy bills.

From my initial call with Jason, to my handover following installation by Sam I’ve had an outstanding experience.

Let’s face it, this is a big investment and everyone should be ensuring due diligence.

I spent a great deal of time researching solar and batteries (shout out to SolarUK on Reddit) and sought out 6 quotes in total.

I quickly learnt that the big national companies were not the route to go down. They don’t treat the process with the attention or care required.

I’d then narrowed down to three local companies, all of whom were great, but Jason’s attention to detail, willingness to explain and the fact he spent the time to drive out and assess the job instantly filled me with confidence.

Communication was outstanding, I knew where I stood at all times.

The DNO was out of Jason’s control and unfortunately took a long time, which delayed the install.

On the day of installation, the team were great and took care in what they were doing, made a very neat and tidy installation and left the area clean and tidy.

I cannot recommend them enough, so much so, they also fitted the same kit to my parents house.

From Start to finish I felt I was in good hands no baffling jargon the willingness to work with me so.i could have the best system I could afford they worked with me to incorporate the system I had already and now im future proofed the system is modular and expandable. They arrived promptly at 9am and worked professionally throughout the day always respecting my property......returned next day to complete due to my system needing some extra configuring at which time I was helped to configure the system ...... Head and shoulders above other companies

Nothing short of outstanding. Jason was very relatable during the quoting process, his passion for getting the right solution for our home was evident.
Quality of work and communication were spot on. Very neat and tidy cabling, and great after install service. We had an issue with our inverter and he just replaced it and sorted it out with supplier, no hassle.
If we ever move Jason and his team will be down again for an install for sure.

Did alot of research into companies before i went with Jason and his team. Was given a quote with 3 different options of sizes and configurations of my solar install. Was always kept informed of when things were happening such as scaffolding and such. Arrived on time and ready to work. Very professional with there work with a healthy does of banter with each other. Didn't mind when i asked questions about things that i didn't quite understand. All in all im very glad i went with Underwood for my solar install. And would defiantly recommend anyone to give them a call for any of there services not just solar. Thanks

Underwood made a great job of our Solar PV & Battery Storage installation, they are clean & tidy workers, polite, very knowledgeable and generally an all round great company. I've recommended them to friends & family and they have completed jobs to the same standard for them. 5 Stars!

I was given advice and information to allow me to make an informed decision about the system I needed. The quotation was supplied along with a scheduled installation date.
I was kept informed of the progress of the order and a firm installation date was supplied and the installation was completed as promised.
The system is working as indicated and Jason has always replied promptly to any queries I have had.
A very professional installation carried out with a minimum of disruption and I am very happy with the outcome.

Every query answered, everything works better than expected. So under promise and over deliver sums our experience up. Decent sunshine obviously helps but the savings are in the region of £3-£4000 pounds (inc fuel for car conservative est) I went from not knowing anything to understanding how it all works all thanks to Underwood Electrical Ltd

Excellent service and installation. Good and very useful advice post installation about getting the most out of our energy use!
