Vimeo is a frustrating platform. Its layout and menus change frequently. The analytics are useless: completely inaccurate. The video quality is good, I will grant that. But mostly it's overpriced and... See more

Aggressive sales tactics, account suspended mid-negotiation, resolved only after formal complaint
We've been Vimeo customers for years, using it to host video for a couple of small client websites. Usage has always been light and consistent, no live-streaming, nothing unusual. We occasionally went slightly over the 2TB monthly bandwidth threshold (by roughly 300GB in two individual months), and this triggered a genuinely alarming experience.
Our account was suspended without meaningful warning, taking down a live client website. When we engaged to resolve it, we were pushed hard by our assigned Account Executive to sign a 12-month "Custom" contract jumping from £240/year to $7,500/year, later "discounted" to $5,000/year, a 15-25x increase, to cover an occasional, modest overage.
Worse, reactivation was made conditional on agreeing to that price, despite earlier written confirmation that reactivation only required signing a contract by an agreed deadline. We were then given same-day deadlines to sign, and directly threatened with permanent suspension if we didn't. Requests to escalate to a manager or Director were ignored multiple times, and when finally addressed, we were told escalation is "only available on Enterprise plans", conveniently the plan we were being pressured into buying.
We only got a fair resolution by raising a formal complaint with Vimeo Support directly. To their credit, Support confirmed in writing that we could remain on our existing Pro plan with no obligation to sign anything, as long as our usage stayed under the 2TB threshold, and that Sales would not contact us further.
Remarkably, even after Support had confirmed this in writing and closed the matter, our Sales contact emailed again insisting we still needed to upgrade to the Custom plan, directly contradicting what his own company's Support team had just told us. It took forwarding Support's written confirmation back to him, copying Vimeo Support, before he stopped.
If you're a small business on a legacy Pro plan, be aware that a minor, occasional bandwidth overage can trigger disproportionate and persistent sales pressure, even after the matter has been formally resolved. Be prepared to escalate to Support directly, and keep everything in writing.

The ad-free video player provides a neat presentation when embedding clips into web pages. I had a slight delay with email verification during initial setup, but everything functioned smoothly afterward. It is a practical tool for hosting clean video content without unwanted pop-ups.

They do not treat their long-term customers well. Perhaps the company is not doing well. 18 years and every year they try and change the plans, they give you 30 days to adjust. For some of us with 6000 videos, this isn't easy to do. After 18 years, I finally said forget it, i will figure out an alternative. Deleted 7TB of videos. They either didn't care to lose me or didn't have the authority or power to keep me. All in all, find a different solution like Youtube.
Very expensive
Very expensive. The price now is x4 compared with last year for the same service.
TOO EXPENSIVE. There's only one feature keeping me here.
The site and service have become enormously cumbersome to use. The price is astronomical for the service. The only reason I haven't deleted my account is because of Vimeo's feature of having a private PASSWORD PROTECTED link. As soon as I can find a host that offers that feature, I plan on deleting my account.
Thanks for ruining our reputation
Thanks for ruining our reputation. It has been a year since Vimeo failed to resolve its payment issues for Indian customers.
Leaves all the clutter and drama behind
Leaves all the clutter and drama associated with youtube and allows me to have a professional appearance. Utilities are well designed to simplify my task of documenting my software utilities.
I'm trying to get work done
I'm trying to get work done, and Vimeo insists on giving me multiple pop ups, including this one to leave a review. When did this become about them and not the customer? I don't have time for this.
I just love everything about Vimeo
I just love everything about Vimeo. The look, the feel, the design, and how things functions. Very high quality. Thank you to all the teams who makes this platform possible. Keep up the great work.

I've used vimeo for almost 15 years and countless projects. It's a fantastic platform - very client friendly.
The interface is a mess
The interface is a mess. Libraries are indecipherable, logins don't automate to the right button on completion, the location of buttons is inconsistent and the terms like Team Library vs Library are silly.
Vimeo hands down must for professionals
Vimeo is hands down a must for any standard user, content creator, or professional. I find it's built-in toolset way more intuitive and user friendly, and it's ability to swap out videos without changing the link is a MUST HAVE. I can make changes to client videos, replace the file, and still keep the same link. Great when you use web embedding or are working with clients or other collaborators. 10x better than YouTube for these reasons alone.
vimeo gets enshittyfied
vimeo gets more expensive, more hard to use, more trouble everytime i touch it, for the last 15 years. definitely leaving asap
