Review of Wren Kitchens

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

MFI was never this bad... I suggest looking elsewhere for a kitchen.

Wren don't publish the unit options that available to purchase, or how much each unit costs. This makes the 'design' process very one sided, as you have to take what ever the shop want to offer you.. Some of the items are ridiculously overpriced (ie. worktops, wine racks).

There was no flexibility over the delivery date. The delivery came including a number of units without doors... Doors then randomly arrived over the following few weeks.

We ordered a Linda Barker kitchen. On arrival the paint was peeling off from one door and was chipped on most cabinet fronts. The pan drawers are really poorly designed; they don't operate smoothly and the alignment has minimal adjustment.

I always wondered why most of the kitchens displayed in their showroom were covered up with brown paper... I suspect because the doors/drawers were falling apart.

Why did we buy from Wren?? We wanted a matt black shaker style kitchen - and didn't see one elsewhere. We knew Wren would be the risky option (compared to Homebase, Wickes, Ikea etc) - but we didn't expect it to be this bad.

Update 27.9.14:

Dear Wren

I note your response below. However, you have not rectified any of the defects. We have a door front with peeled paint, numerous chips and a broken pan draw that I fixed myself.

You did send a new decorative panel to replace one that had only been painted around one end... However, the replacement has the same defect..

Please at least get your responses to complaints correct...

Update 15.10.14

Dear Wren

This appears to be the only way to usefully communicate with your company.

Please find below the email I sent to your team. I am still awaiting a response.

In addition another pan draw has failed with the runner falling off.............

This is completely unacceptable on a new "premium priced" kitchen......

Not only do I expect you to replace the defective door panels but I expect a refund in the region of £1500. The kitchen you have provided is worth no more than £1500 (and that is after I have fixed all the broken bits myself)....

Dear Wren

You must have the wrong mobile number.
I have previously sent pictures and we have also had a visit from your staff who also took pictures. If you also need to visit then early am on a Thursday is best, otherwise Tuesdays pm.

Please let me know

Update 10.1.15

Dear Wren

Your store staff have been helpful over the last few weeks and I have had 3 door fronts replaced. Unfortunately the underlying quality of the product is as poor as ever. The paint has cracked on a new front within 3 weeks of fitting... This is wholly unacceptable and as previously outlined I demand a refund for receiving a fault kitchen...

Your store has been unable to assist me with this request, so I would be grateful it you take it take forward without further delays.

The store has been sent a picture of the latest defect and offered, yet again, to replace the defective part. However, until your company learns to make products to salable quality, this will continue to be an inane process. Consequently, I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE PURCHASES A WREN LINDA BARKER KITCHEN at any price.

Update 24.3.15

Dear Wren

I remain dissatisfied with your product and service. As outlined in my prior posts - the Linda Barker kitchen you supplied is of poor quality.

The goods are not fit for purpose and in-line with the sales of goods act you should have either rectified all the faults or provided appropriate compensation. However you have done neither...

I still have a white line and numerous scattered paint chips.. You have blankly refused any kind of refund, however did promised to send "touch up paint", which would at least allow a DIY repair job...

Alas, the touch up paint has also failed to materialise...

I am fed up with chasing your company and would be grateful if you could resolve this without further delay or inconvenience.....

Good morning,
We have had a look into this.
On the order summary that you are given with the sale of your kitchen all the units are listed with their individual pricing and we design the kitchen however we allow changes to be made upto 21 days before the delivery and you are able to change the design up to that point as many times as you like to find a kitchen that works for you.

Of course some unit options will always be more costly than others so we work within a budget for you.

In our customer charter it states that any changes need to be made before 21 days otherwise your kitchen will be starting production and we provide a week commencing date and then a week before an actual date of delivery is provided to you.

Wren apologise if this was not clearly highlighted to you. I have been advised by the store that you have a completed installation as all the defected items have been replaced for you.

29/09 - Dear DW, I will speak to your designer about this and make sure everything is completed for you.

16/10 - Dear DW, we are extremely sorry for the lack of contact you are receiving from the Guildford branch and we will ensure that we get these issues addressed.

We have spoken to the store and we are ensuring that they get in touch today to finalise the issue with the pan drawer and any other stock required so we can get them on order asap.

Please provide them adequate information to be able to order the products you require without delay.

Once again we apologise that you are experiencing faults and will rectify this right away.

Kind Regards
