Shocking experience

Shocking experience! I returned a phone for repair under its 5 year warranty and the phone and the sim card were binned without my consent. I was then refunded half the amount i paid with zero communication. It clearly states that CEX will attempt to repair the phone in the first instance and if this fails a replacement phone will be sent out. You are only refunded if neither of these is possible. Somehow i dont believe CEX didnt have another iphone 7 in stock they could have sent me. Total con! Not sure where they get off throwing away working sim cards either. I followed the instructions on how to return very carefully and it does not say anywhere to remove the sim card or to wipe the phone. They also threw away the phone case it was in. Appauling way to deal with peoples property. You had no right to dispose of my things without my permisission. Tried reaching out to discuss this but just got sent round in circles with a ''Soz, its in the bin now so nothing we can do'' Nobody has taken responsibilty for this or offered me an apology or explanation. They dont have a phone number either apparently and can only communicate via email. Dont offer a 5 year warranty if you dont intend to stand by your promises.

Purchased a Istamax camera online but…

Purchased a Istamax camera online but unfortunately I ordered the wrong colour so had to return it. The return process was handled extremely well with CEX fully honouring their return policy which has served to give me great confidence in all my future purchases. A very refreshing experience.

Testers don't know how to test.

Went to sell a nikon 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 af-g lens in their Hastings store.
After 'testing' they said the autofocus doesn't work. I explained the autofocus motor needs to be in the camera, which it true of many lenses. The staff didn't believe me. When I got home I tested it a Nikon D750 with built in autofocus motor. As expected the autofocus worked. I tested it again on a D5300 without a built in autofocus motor and as expected the autofocus didn't work. The 'testers' assume they have more knowledge than the customers, when in fact their knowledgeable is very limited and they are clearly in the wrong job. A waste of time and journey. Avoid.

I was given incorrect memory from what…

I was given incorrect memory from what I ordered (ordered DDR4 Non-ECC, received ECC that won't work with my current setup, only discovered when I got home, but may be able to use the ones I was given in something else at some point, can't be bothered to return it for what was paid, it's too hot to go out.

Wouldn’t recommend buying online

Wouldn’t recommend buying online. No phone line to get in contact with them. Have an urgent issue that needs resolving and can’t get in touch. Emailed them this morning but heard nothing.

Used CEX Kilburn to sell a few items…

Used CEX Kilburn to sell a few items which I no longer use such as games consoles and games which I’ve finished. CEX offers a good price for items and the staff are helpful and the payment has always been processed on the same day so very good service.
