Great support, clear and consistent communication

We engaged with Matt Greenham at Chancellors' Didcot office to support our search for a first home in Didcot. He was clear and consistent in communication, executed follow-up steps, and proactively identified properties that met our specific requirements. This contrasted with other agencies and personnel we were engaging with. Generally found the Chancellors communication style, coordination and website user friendly and of a good quality

Highly recommend

I called up Chancellors to enquire about a property in Dorchester. Matthew was extremely knowledgable and positive. He persuaded me to view the house that same day. I had dozens of questions as its a very unique build. All were answered well or relayed later thet evening. The reception was warm and a straight forward, honest attitude made me confident making an offer the very next day.

We recently had a valuation completed…

We recently had a valuation completed on our property. We were extremely impressed with the entire experience Abbie had given us. From start to finish, the service was professional, knowledgeable and incredibly thorough. Abbie took time to explain every step of the process, answered all of our questions clearly and provided a detailed valuation that gave us full confidence moving forward.
We would highly recommend Abbie’s service to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy estate agent. Absolutely outstanding service.

Untruthful & neglectful. Poor from start to finish.

Our experience with chancellors has been poor since the start due to their misrepresentation of the property. Transparency and honesty leaves much to be desired as they haven’t been truthful since the start.
Key details provided during the viewing and negotiation stages were inaccurate, and the actual condition and terms differed from what was stated.

They advised us that the tenancy would be long-term, adding that the landlord has no intention to sell (after I raised that particular concern with them prior to signing a contract). 6 months later they send a section 21, telling us the landlord is selling and that we need to be out within 2 months.

Chancellors knew that we needed a property for the long-term due to our baby being due on 31st October. On 29th October they sent us a section 21 via email with a distinct lack of empathy towards our situation. They did not call to explain the situation or to offer any support or guidance.

This experience has undermined my trust in their professionalism. I would strongly recommend that future tenants verify all claims in writing before proceeding with any tenancy agreement through this agency.

Don’t let them manage the property as you will end up doing their property management job yourself.
It took over 6 months to get repairs booked. Living 6 months with a faulty shower pump wasn’t fun. The property was in a pretty poor state when we moved in with a broken window, damaged window seals, mould, rotten kitchen units, untidy/unkept garden, door handles falling off doors, and a bad, rotten smell in the house. There were issues with hot water too leaving us scolded on multiple occasions.
Communication is extremely poor and we had to persistently chase them for responses.
They are neglectful, untruthful and and all round shambles.

A deep clean was agreed before the tenancy start date but the house was still very dirty when we moved in.
We spent 4 weeks chasing them to book a chimney sweep due to a blocked chimney / wood burner which is a considerable health & safety risk. It is a legal requirement to ensure the chimney is safe to use and certificates need to be in place prior to a tenancy starting. In the end I had to find and book a sweep myself as they lacked the competence to book it themselves.

Unfortunately, my experience with Chancellors wasn’t good. The property was not as described, and some important information wasn’t made clear until after I’d committed. When I tried to resolve the issue, communication was poor and accountability was lacking. I wouldn’t recommend based on my experience — transparency and honesty need considerable improvement.

Won’t be renting through them again..

I am letting my house through the Chancellors

I am letting my house through the Chancellors. Recently my house had some repair work needed following the report from the tenants. Hollie Callaghan has been handling this from the side of Chancellors. I am very happy with the service: the communication was clear and the actions were taken timely.

Great Western Park Flat Rental

An unexpected issue with the property

We had an unexpected issue with our drains today. I called Mia Hallam our property manager and she quickly contacted our landlord and arranged for a drain specialist to come, assess and deal with issue. She also kindly passed on that there was a dog on the property who was at risk if he digested what was coming out.
The issue was all delt with and fixed within 2 hours.

Can’t recommend.

Can’t recommend unfortunately.
Poor communication and they don’t care about the state of disrepair to properties being let out by them.
We have complained about cleanliness and disrepair for more than 8 weeks and only now trades are coming out to “take a look”. Only 1 item on a list of around 100 items has been fixed so far and we have been in for more than 2 months.

All round our experience with Chancellors has been incredibly poor which is really disappointing when paying so much money to rent.
A certain level of customer service is expected from the agent but Chancellors leave much to be desired to say the least.

While some team members, like Luca and Megan, provide great communication and support, others seem more focused on collecting personal information and can be slow in progressing tasks.
