Used for over 15 years as my cat had an ongoing problem, I used to recommend them to friends and family!. Usually no problem with pay out however since the change in the last 2-3 months their customer service is diabolical and sent my claim money elsewhere in error and refuse to pay me until it’s been returned to them, disgusting and disappointing after giving them £1000s over the years, also refusing my last ongoing claim! Just after I told them I didn’t want to renew at £86 a month ridiculous price for a non pedigree cat! Avoid avoid avoid.

The insurance company basically doesn’t work. I paid for two years, and when my horse got sick, I didn’t get any reimbursement and they stopped replying to my messages. When I cancelled and explained why, nobody responded or offered anything. I was paying £73 a month for nothing — I would’ve been better off saving that money myself. I really don’t recommend this company.

Greedy and Lack of compassion

APPALLING COMPANY
NEVER, NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. They don’t pay out for claims and increase your premiums by extortionate amounts (65%in one year!!!) There are much better companies out there to insure your pet with.

I had a terrible experience with E&L When my dog needed urgent surgery, I trusted that my insurance would cover the costs as promised. Unfortunately, they refused to pay, citing ridiculous technicalities that were never mentioned when I signed up.
I have been paying my premiums on time, expecting support when it truly mattered—but instead, I was left with a huge bill and no help at all. Their customer service was unhelpful and dismissive, showing no compassion for my pet’s health.

If I could give zero stars, I would! Bast Insurance is an absolute scam, and I strongly advise everyone to stay away from them. They are nothing but a group of thieves, taking your money and then refusing to provide any real service when you need it.
Their customer service is beyond terrible – unhelpful, rude, and always trying to find an excuse not to pay out claims. They will happily take your premiums, but when it comes to actually helping you, they will do everything in their power to avoid responsibility.
Dealing with them has been a nightmare, full of endless delays, excuses, and outright lies. They will drain your patience and your wallet. Save yourself the stress and find a trustworthy insurance provider because Bast Insurance is a complete disaster.

Avoid at all costs. Paid into this for 12 years. Put one claim in this month for heart xrays and was declined as they said was a condition from 2022 I hadn't informed them of. I didn't think was necessary as at time he didn't need treatment. Absolutely disgusting service I've paid them thousands and they couldn't even pay out a few hundred pounds

I have been with this company for over 15yrs! First with my cat...never made a claim, then with my dog, when I did make a claim, for a leg injury,( no conclusive diagnosis)! Then an eye infection,( no conclusive diagnosis)!
They excluded the eye infection, despite, no further issues!
My cat became ill and was euthanised, this year, costing £161, they refused to pay anything!
They don't have any moral ethics and should not be allowed to insure any animal!

Do not ever use this company.
They make every single claim beyond difficult. You jump through hoop after hoop until in the end you give up.
Our vets are seasoned professionals and they have a lot of practices. We have been with them for decades, and after multiple battles with this company we all agreed they are the worse the vet has ever come across.
Do not go anywhere near them ever. In fact I am going to take them to the ombudsman.

Do not use this company to insure your pet! They will do anything to not pay up, the excess looks small but they take 35% of the total vets bills which adds up. Hugely disappointed I stayed with them for 8 years to be burned when my dog needed a tumor removed.
