What great service I’ve received from Emma and her team over the last week at Ernest jones Middlesbrough, ordered a beautiful ring into store for me to try with no pressure, 100% customer satisfaction, thank you.
I don’t usually leave reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience.
I purchased a pair of diamond earrings from Ernest Jones. This was my first time buying from them, as I usually shop elsewhere — and unfortunately, it turned out to be a big mistake.
A few months after buying them, I decided to finally wear them for a special occasion. On the very first day of wearing them, I noticed one earring had fallen off. Thankfully, I found it in my car. I was very careful putting it back on, making sure it was secure — after all, these are diamond earrings.
Later that same day, while in the restroom, I noticed the earring was loose again and nearly fell off for a second time. I contacted customer service, and they advised me to visit a store and have them checked.
At the store, I explained everything and suggested the earrings might be faulty. I asked if they could be sent for inspection, but the staff member said they don’t do that. Instead, she made a small adjustment herself and told me to try wearing them again.
I did — just last weekend — and sadly, I lost the earring again. This time, it’s completely gone.
I contacted the store again, but was told there’s nothing they can do.
I’m extremely disappointed. I had flagged the issue before it happened again and was hoping for proper support or at least a professional check. These earrings lasted only two days of actual wear.
Lesson learned: stick with jewellery shops you know and trust — the ones that sell reliable quality and stand behind their products if something goes wrong.

You could see they were all there to genuinely help people and it as not just a job!
We were that happy I said to my husband they really did that extra mile so dropped off some biscuits as a thank you!

We bought a bridal set that was originally priced at £4150, but spend over £3000 and get 30% off.
This brought the price down go £3150!
However when we went in to store paid and collected the ring - only to go on the website the same day to see the same ring priced at £2250!!!
I immediately called and complained and agreed to take a voucher for the difference as we opted for the Intest free credit and it meant cancelling that and starting again! Customer services was blamed for this as I originally ordered online but then cancelled as my size had changed and opted to go to store.
Upon collecting the gift card I was offered a matching ring to the set that was priced at £1750 but reduced to £1100.
I had a bad feeling so collected the gift card and left.
Upon checking the ring I had been offered on the website was actually priced at £1100 and in the sale for £550!
In essence I took ages to choose this set and I feel like EJ was happy to overcharge not once but tried twice! It all felt very dishonest and I was prompted in store to leave a review.
I like to give a little time incase something goes wrong.
I took my gift card to the metro centre store, I found them much more professional and update with their prices.
In my view EJ’d head office need to investigate this store in Middlesbrough

Just returned from Earnest Jones shop in Middlesbrough, had meeting with the manager Paul. My wife had taken her watch in for a service, which had to be sent to Raymond Weil factory and had been lost or stolen in transit, this watch had great sentimental value to my wife. This had to be a very unenviable job for Paul to deal with , but we would just like to say, Paul was excellent, professional and had great empathy for my wife's loss, he more than went the extra mile. many thanks Liz H.

We went to the Middlesbrough store, Manager (Paul) and a female member of staff helped us to choose the correct size and arranged the delivery to store. Excellent service by both the manager and the female member of staff. Very grateful for their support.
Staff couldn't have been more helpful, in particular, the manager who was excellent.
Having bought my fiancé’s ring for the wedding online, we then had to take it back to store.... it was way too small for him (my own fault).
Took it back to the Middlesborough store, and honestly what a great experience. Extremely helpful, efficient, friendly, and clean.
