Avoid Getaround if you value your time.
My identity verification was manually reviewed, and I was told that my documents were invalid.
I submitted the exact same documents again, but instead of properly reviewing them, my account was blocked.
I then contacted support by email, and after another manual review I was told that my residence permit had expired in 2024.
The problem is that the document clearly states an expiry date of 29 September 2026. Anyone can read it in a few seconds.
This means my documents were reviewed at least three separate times, yet no one noticed the obvious difference between 2024 and 2026.
Because of this mistake, I lost my original booking. By the time I could make a new reservation, the price for the same rental period had increased to almost double.
I had to waste my time proving that 2026 is not 2024. This level of incompetence in an identity verification process is extremely disappointing and has cost me both time and money.
