PERFECT!!
I really wanted a ceramic bowl that i could only find online but i was dubious about ordering breakables online. In the end, Harts of Stur seemed like the best option and i was proven correct. The delivery arrived much sooner than anticipated and it came wonderfully packaged - i recon it would have survived even if the delivery driver played volleyball with it. My bowl came wonderfully packaged, the service was excellent and i am also confident that had it arrived broken, customer service would have been wonderful.

All items sold by Harts of Stur are brand new and are supplied to us directly by the manufacturer or their official UK distributor.
After checking our system, I can confirm that the item you received had not previously been used and was received from the manufacturer on 14 July 2026.
We have also reviewed the history of this particular picnic knife and can confirm that Harts of Stur has never received a return for this item. Therefore, the most likely explanation for the fingerprint is that it occurred during the manufacturing process or as part of a quality control inspection carried out by the manufacturer.

Mixed results …
Sea salt dress was great and James Martin knife really sharp but 100% cotton bedding set was not- it was 50% cotton 50% polyester so listing was incorrect- disappointing.

We bought a very expensive dinner…
We bought a very expensive dinner service from them and after 9 months the glaze began to show many small black marks, we contacted them and have had absolutely no joy in remedying the issue.
Their "customer service" team are unhelpful and refuse to address the problem, suggesting I go to the manufacturer, we were houng to buy from John Lewis but Harts were recommended, our mistake.

After reviewing your order in more detail, we can see that you contacted our Customer Service team regarding marks that became visible on your plates after approximately eight months of use.
The images you provided were carefully assessed, and no fault with the plates was identified. The marks appear to be metal transfer from cutlery, which is a normal occurrence with ceramic tableware and can usually be removed with appropriate cleaning.
Please note that ceramic is generally harder than cutlery, so some transfer of material from utensils may occur during normal use.
Our records also show that we contacted the manufacturer to request an independent assessment.
As the plates were not considered faulty based on the information available, and because your further questions related to the chemical composition and long term durability of the material, we advised that these matters would be best addressed directly by the manufacturer, as we are unable to provide technical specifications beyond the information supplied to us as a retailer.
Although we have already provided a detailed explanation, cleaning guidance, and links to article that explain this type of marking in more detail, we remain happy to review your case again should the manufacturer's assessment determine that the plates are faulty.
