Excellant service

Moving can be hectic, but Dulcie made it so simple with her support, prompt communication, and quick responses from the first viewing in Cullompton right through to the day I collected the keys. She was professional, reassuring, and always ready to help.
The team I met on key‑collection day was amazing — friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful.
Overall, a fantastic experience. Highly recommended.

Hunters estate agents York the worst I’ve come across

What a lousy estate agents the York branch is, I went to see a house but not all the keys were brought to the viewing the lady called Jenna wanted to rush me around she insisted we had to leave early. This lady was very rude. I sent a list of questions I wanted answering three weeks ago I also requested a second viewing and the keys for full access but my emails and telephone calls went unanswered. I suggest that Hunters should get out of the business of selling houses because they are a clueless bunch of people and I recommend you don’t buy or sell a house from Hunters. No wonder they get 1 stars it seems everybody else has had a bad experience with them.

My experience with Hunters was deeply…

My experience with Hunters was deeply disappointing.

Repeated administrative errors relating to notices and tenancy handling caused unnecessary delays, additional time, and avoidable stress during possession proceedings. When I recently contacted the branch again regarding future instructions, I was informed in a dismissive manner that they no longer wished to work with me due to previous disputes — disputes which arose from their own handling failures.

Professionalism, accountability, and respectful communication appear seriously lacking based on my experience!

Avoid this agency at all costs.

I paid a £135 holding deposit to secure a room with an agreed move‑in date. The moment they took my money, they changed the date and told me I could only move in several days later. Because of their change, I could no longer proceed and asked for a refund — which they refused.

Every part of the process felt unprofessional. They changed key terms after taking payment, ignored the written agreement, and then tried to keep the deposit even though the change was entirely on their side. I had to escalate the issue to the Property Ombudsman because they simply would not do the right thing.

This experience caused unnecessary stress, wasted time, and disrupted my housing plans. Based on how they handled this situation, I would strongly advise others to be extremely cautious before handing over any money.

Placed an offer of the full asking…

Placed an offer of the full asking price on a property in Sutton Coldfield. It was a one bedroom 1st floor flat in Wylde Green and I fell in love with it. The Agent said she had already had an offer in the morning. Despite the property being on the market for several weeks. She indicated that my offer was higher and she would put it to the vendor. Later that day she came back to me to say that the vendor had accepted the lower offer as the vendor stated that the buyer that visited in the morning of the same day was paying cash and that the vendor felt it was a more reliable offer as one sale had already fell through. I offered to take the full asking price around to the local branch in cash and asked if that would prove to the vendor that I was an honorable buyer. No reply from Hunters. Therefore this furthers my reluctance to use any of the “reputable” estate agents to ever sell any of my properties. Absolutely disgusting. I put my money where my mouth is and it was ignored. Don’t touch them if you’re a vendor !!!! You might get less than you expected for your property. I sometimes think it’s the estate agent who decides who’s buying the property and not the vendor.

Enquired about a property. Travelled a round trip of 10 hours to view said property.

Landlord accepted application but needed to contact freeholder to seek permission to let.

Original chap I was dealing with was superb, but he went on leave.

Hunters then left me sat for a week without communication, and let to someone else during that period.

Absolutely infuriating waste of time and effort and an appalling way to treat a potential customer. Don't go near them.

Disappointed

Disappointed, we learned our house purchase had fallen through at the point of us being ready to exchange on our property. We found out that the office had known about it and left it to the agent, who had been looking after us, to tell us after she came back from annual leave! We never got a reason for the purchase to fall through and they even tried delaying us putting an offer in on another property. Luckily this was with another agent and we trusted our gut as the trust with Hunters had gone. 7 weeks later we were in our new home. Felt let down and disappointed with Hunters. This was our first and last time dealing with them.

Bone idol

Bone idol. Lost a sale because of their lazy attitude. Tried another local company house sold in a week.Just don't bother. The estate agent who sold my house said that hunters are just sweeping up local businesses in a big takeover move. All fur coat and no knickers. Dealing with a 16-year-old sales agent isn't a pleasant. experience. Wetherby branch. If you also check online they say they use Google reviews which they don't.

I had an exceptional experience working…

I had an exceptional experience working with Julie Decraene throughout my house purchase. From start to finish before passing onto the next agent for the further process of buying my house, her service was nothing short of outstanding. She made what can often be a stressful and complicated process feel smooth, straightforward, and incredibly efficient.

Julie was always professional, approachable, and highly responsive. Any questions or concerns I had were addressed promptly and clearly, which gave me a great deal of confidence and peace of mind. Her knowledge and expertise were evident at every stage, and she guided me through the process with ease, ensuring everything moved forward quickly without any unnecessary delays.

What truly stood out was how seamless she made the entire experience. The process of buying a house can be overwhelming, but Julie handled everything with such organisation and attention to detail that it felt effortless on my part. Her dedication and commitment to providing excellent service really shone through.

I am genuinely grateful for her support and would highly recommend Julie Decraene to anyone looking for a reliable, efficient, and professional service. She has made a significant milestone in my life an incredibly positive and stress-free experience.

Hunters are not interested

Hunters let the house adjacent to ours. There have been multiple pipe leaks around the bathroom causing flooding which in turn is causing damp smells on our side due to the length of time taken to address the issues. It's been repaired after four weeks now within hours water is currently coming through the ceiling next door soaking our party wall and they have told the tennant it's livable no problem.
Hopefully they won't charge them for a wet room!!!

5 star Estate Agents

We had issues with another local Estate Agent . Max at Hunters went above and beyond to prove good, in fact great , Trustworthy Estate Agents exist. Max went above and beyond to deliver an exceptional first class service, made everything easy to follow in laymans terms, and was a pleasure to interact with. Very efficient, superb service and exceeded our expectations. Hunters secured a buyer for our flat within 11 days and to exact Market Value they recommended.

I had an outstanding experience working…

I had an outstanding experience working with Gary as my estate agent. From the very beginning, he was professional, approachable, and incredibly knowledgeable about the market. He took the time to understand my needs and guided me through every step of the process with clarity and patience.
What really stood out was Gary's communication - he kept me informed at all times, promptly answered questions and made what could have been a stressful experience feel smooth and manageable.

Damaged our house, and we're not even their clients!

Hunters hung a "for sale" sign on our property, which was a surprise to us, since we were neither selling nor letting the property. When asked to take it down, four visible holes have been left in the wall of our home. It has been six and a half weeks, and the holes are still there. In a couple of weeks, we're going to need to escalate this to the ombudsman.

Frankly, I'd be happy with getting the cost of some filler from them and doing it myself. Companies need to be held responsible for damage - they cannot be let off with an "oopsie, my bad".

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters auction. House was listed on website and tenanted for a fixed amount of rent which I was told by the auction agent called Robert. Also house was in bad state but got told tenants don’t care so why do you. Only to find out later on that tenants have never paid anywhere near that amount and it’s so much lower. So was lied to first of all and then later to meet the tenants and for them to tell us all the work they was promised and they wanted the house fixing top to bottom. What an absolute joke and waste of time and money. Keep your money and go elsewhere they will tell you anything just to sell a house that is overpriced
