I put down a £250, fully refundable deposit to reserve a car I wanted to view. After deciding not to go with that vehicle, I asked for the deposit to be refunded. More than a month later, I have still not received the refund. I was told, on multiple occasions by the sales team that it was being processed straight away, but this was obviously untrue. Avoid, even if they seem good when you are looking to spend money with them.

I bought a Landrover Defender from Lookers Land Rover Buckinghamshire. The car had consistent issues since purchase. After the third issue (less than 4 months after purchase), it became clear that owning the vehicle was a burden, not a privilege and so I requested my money back. I have been totally ignored and palmed off by the dealership for 3 months now! I have complained to Lookers via their official complaints procedure as well as to the dealership directly to absolutely no avail. The car has been at the dealership for 3 months as I refuse to collect it!! I am now in the process of going through the motor ombudsman as well as a personally funded solicitor. I will absolutely never buy a car from Lookers ever again!!

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Lookers Land Rover Buckinghamshire.
I purchased an “approved used” vehicle, expecting a high standard of quality and reliability. However, within just 3 months, multiple faults began to appear. The same issue was reported repeatedly and occurred at least four times before the dealership finally identified the root cause.
Over nearly 2 years of ownership, the car has been in and out of the dealership with one problem after another. This has caused significant inconvenience, loss of trust, and ongoing frustration.
What is most concerning is that a vehicle sold as “approved” should not have persistent and recurring faults like this. The repeated failure to diagnose and fix the issue properly only made the situation worse.
I escalated the case to the Motor Ombudsman, which itself has taken an unreasonably long time due to the volume of similar complaints.
Overall, this has been the worst car ownership and customer service experience I have ever had. I would strongly advise others to be cautious when purchasing from this dealership.

Three vehicle health checks and an MOT completely missed badly corroded brake pipes that eventually failed and brake fluid ran out and onto the road.
One vehicle health check revealed a dangerous rear tyre, but despite asking for it to be swapped over, they still sent my wife home in an unsafe car. The subsequent health check also missed the dangerous tyre.

I recently purchased a Land Rover Discovery and the service I received was excellent. Unfortunately, when I collected the vehicle there was a minor fault with the locking system. However, Chris Thompson dealt with it swiftly and professionally—he set me up with a courtesy car and had the issue resolved by the next morning.
These things happen, but it’s how they’re handled that really matters, and this team couldn’t have done any more. The Branch Director, Kirk, and Sales Manager, Dan, also took the time to introduce themselves, which was a great touch. Most importantly, Chris, who managed my purchase from start to finish, was superb.
So many dealerships—especially within JLR—fall short, but this team (especially Chris) exceeded expectations. I’ll definitely be using them again in the future. Thank you!

Title: Poor Experience with Finance – Unprofessional and Misleading
I bought a Land Rover Discovery Sport in March 2022 and never missed a single payment in over 3.5 years. Recently, I saw a Range Rover Velar I was interested in upgrading to. However, I was told by Colin, the finance manager, that I had been refused finance – which didn’t make sense given my spotless payment history.
To double-check, I called the finance company myself. They confirmed there was no reason I shouldn’t be approved and advised that an appeal should be submitted. After a few days of no update, I rang Colin back and was bluntly told, “it’s a no and that’s it.”
I contacted the finance company again and spoke with an underwriter who confirmed that no appeal had ever been made. I later received an email – with no name or real explanation – just a couple of vague lines saying the finance was refused.
It became clear that Colin either couldn’t be bothered to go through the appeal process or didn’t know how. Less than a week later, I was approved for finance within 10 minutes at a different garage, with no issues whatsoever.
Really disappointing experience. If I’d taken their word for it, I would’ve missed out. Won’t be returning or recommending based on this unprofessional and lazy approach.
