Romans - Lower Earley Reviews 

The most unprofessional and disrespectful estate agency I've ever encountered! I traveled 1.5 hours from London to Reading for my 4:00 PM viewing appointment. When no one showed up at the scheduled time, I called them, and they shamelessly told me, 'Sorry, the property has been sold.' They couldn't even be bothered to send a text, email, or call to inform me beforehand. I wasted 3 hours of my day on the road, burned fuel, and was treated with utter disrespect. Do not do business with a company that has zero respect for people's time!

As a tenant, I have had a very positive experience working with Jessica Phillips. She has been incredibly helpful and responsive, always quick to address any queries or concerns that arise.
What stands out most is her efficiency and commitment to seeing things through - issues are not just acknowledged but followed up and resolved promptly. Her communication is clear and professional, which makes the whole process smooth and reassuring as a tenant.

We engaged Romans, as having read a number of reviews on local estate agents they came highly recommended. The whole team Adam, Josh, Izzy & Antra provided an exceptional service from the initial point of contact. They assisted with a new mortgage provided a professional service when marketing our property including being on site to show prospective buyers around the property, and kept us fully informed with feedback from a buyer's visit (positive & negative). All the members of the team are really approachable, easy to talk too, articulate and provide simple explanations on the more complex aspects of the sale which really helps. Would highly recommend if you were looking to see your property.

I rented a property from Romans Lower Early and I particularly want to thank Dhruv for his great professionalism and help as the whole process and experience was smooth, quick and enjoyable. He was caring and understanding my needs and constraints, and he even stayed over time in the office to let me come collect the property keys as I was late. Again thank you Dhruv and Romans.

Adam & Joshua in particular have been amazing through this very tumultuous journey over the last 13 months. Can’t forget Ollie in the earlier days and Izzy for a while too - all of whom helped us navigate a very difficult sale.
We really appreciate all the hard work and effort they put in to selling our property and I’m sure are just as glad as we are to have finally exchanged contracts!
As much as I enjoyed working with them, I’m equally glad that this will soon be over!!

Lower Earley branch - We cannot fault Joshua for his professionalism and expertise once we had found our next family home. He was consistent in his approach and explained the process and next steps well. He was on the ball when marketing our property too and remained polite and courteous throughout. Unfortunately things didn’t work out as our personal circumstances meant we had to withdraw early on in the process but we were impressed with the way Joshua dealt with it all. He really is a breath of fresh air and we are grateful.

I was invited by Romans on three separate occasions to write a review…

I am the executor of my father’s estate and there was also a Trustee.
It took Romans several weeks to get the property on the market, this was due to Romans insisting on a third party company for legal documentation who wanted us to download an app. I chose not to deal with the third party company, nor would I download the app, as my mobile was an old one plus I didn’t feel it fair to force the Trustee to do the same. Instead I asked to deliver documents to Romans electronically. Romans refused to accept this proposal. All went quiet for several weeks, Parkers (Joint agency) were working hard on getting the property sold, so I wasn’t too fussed. In the end Romans accepted electronic documentation!

Second annoyance, I didn’t request or seek Romans opinion on Parkers, my business with Parkers was very good. Yet Romans felt obligated to give me a bad appraisal on Parkers, saying how shocking they were and they had given me bad advice. I can honestly say Parkers treated us well.

Final annoyance, the slow progression of the eventual sale by Romans, next to no updates and no sense of urgency to complete.

In the event however, Romans did successfully sell the house for us

Olly has been very helpful and informative. He's answered all my questions and gone above and beyond to ensure we are happy with everything throughout the process.

Romans was our rental agent. Received absolutely terrible service from the property manager. The boiler thermostat and circuit board gave up just as winter started. After numerous back and forth with Romans and the plumber and 3 weeks of cold water eventually it was repaired. Romans had absolutely zero empathy for us entering winter without heating and hot water. The property agent did not even get proper feedback from the plumber that initially a temporary fix was put in. No apologies and in general a terrible customer service ethic. As tenants that paid the rent on time every month we were treated very poorly. I would not under any circumstances recommend Romans Lower Early branch.

Romans rented a property to a large family with over 7-8 cars when the property only has parking for 3 cars. These cars are being parked on the road without any consideration to other the other residents causing risks to other road users. Despite following the Romans complaints process, no real action has been taken.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Joshua Mann. In my search for a property Joshua was so helpful, polite and could not wish for a fabulous advisor.

Thanks Adam and Joshua for all your support and for getting our home sold for a great and fair price. You managed to quickly sell the house for a second and third time after prior offers fell through (for reasons out of your control). You’ve been great to work with and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to a friend in the area!
