**Extremely Disappointing Experience…

**Extremely Disappointing Experience with Salesforce Sales, Billing, and Management – Buyers Beware!**

I have had one of the worst experiences dealing with Salesforce, particularly with its Regional VP of Sales, Steven Wright. What started as a positive experience with an excellent sales representative turned into an incredibly frustrating ordeal involving misleading contract terms, questionable billing practices, poor communication, and an account being sent to collections despite my explicit request to cancel.

My initial experience with Benjamin, my original sales representative, was excellent. He was professional, attentive, respectful, and genuinely listened to my business needs. He provided competitive pricing and contract terms that worked for my company. Unfortunately, when Steven Wright became involved, the experience took a complete turn for the worse.

**First, Steven refused to honor the pricing originally quoted by Benjamin and instead quoted me nearly DOUBLE the price.** After considerable back-and-forth negotiations, I eventually agreed to move forward, specifically requesting the same monthly billing arrangement I had previously discussed. Despite my clear instructions, Steven issued an annual contract instead of the monthly arrangement I requested and had previously under Benjamin.

After repeated frustrations and what I considered a complete lack of attention to my instructions, I explicitly requested cancellation during a recorded phone conversation. I made it clear that I no longer wanted to proceed with Salesforce.

**What happened next was even more concerning.**

Despite my cancellation request, I continued receiving invoices. Concerned that my account might still be active, I attempted to log in solely to verify whether Salesforce had actually canceled my services. I was unable to access the platform. Astonishingly, Steven subsequently claimed that my attempted login constituted usage of Salesforce's services. I strongly dispute that characterization. Attempting to verify an account's cancellation is NOT the same as actively using a service.

I have documentation, including emails and a recorded call transcript, supporting my account of the cancellation request. Rather than addressing my concerns and resolving the billing dispute, Steven proceeded with having the disputed account referred to collections.

To make matters worse, I specifically requested to speak with someone above Steven in management. Not a single person from upper management contacted me to discuss my concerns, review my documentation, or attempt to resolve the situation. Instead, the matter was escalated to collections.

As a business owner and CEO, I understand the importance of contracts, transparency, accountability, and customer service. I would never expect a company of Salesforce's size and reputation to handle a customer dispute in this manner.

What concerns me most is not simply the pricing disagreement. It is the apparent disregard for a customer's explicit instructions, the failure to properly address a documented cancellation request, and the decision to pursue collections without providing the management escalation I requested.

My advice to any business considering Salesforce: PROCEED WITH EXTREME CAUTION.

Keep copies of every email, text message, pricing quote, contract revision, and cancellation request. Document your conversations and, where legally permitted, record your calls. Carefully review every contract before signing, particularly whether the agreement is monthly or annual.

While Benjamin demonstrated professionalism and excellent customer service, my experience with Steven Wright, Regional VP of Sales, was the complete opposite.

I am extremely disappointed that Salesforce allowed this situation to escalate rather than having someone in senior management step in to resolve it.

Salesforce needs to do better. Customers deserve transparency, accountability, and contracts that accurately reflect what was agreed upon—not disputed invoices and collection actions after requesting cancellation.

I would not recommend Salesforce based on this experience.

Terrible - Do Not Use

Tableau is ok but overpriced for what you get, and Salesforce are terrible from an account management point of view. They will overcharge you and then hide behind their T's and C's, refusing to enter into any commercial conversation. Avoid at all costs.

Non-existent customer support

Non-existent customer support. When you speak to them, everything is "perfect" or "excellent". Sadly they're not capable or even the simplest of tasks. I've got an ongoing query with them. I raised it 2 weeks ago and have had to chase 5 times and I've still not made any progress. The platform itself is very average so I have no trouble cancelling my account. They clearly don't care though.

Starts great, gets worse if you don't plan on expanding licenses

Starts great through contracting and then once you are up and running all they care about is being paid. We went to use our account as we have been pushing off our contract renewals as our company has not really been growing by headcount, just by products. We are exploring other efficiencies versus project software as using salesforce now feels like using Adobe. Any feature you want to try is an adder. You have to sign up to try it,or implement it yourself to try it but you only get say 72 hours. Well implementation will take at least 2 business days because the original system you built, now runs partially through the lightning platform however this new tool only works through lightning pages, however lightning pages does not pull all the features from your original build out so you now have to build that out all over to use this new feature that on other platforms is free. The have built and redone their systems so much that it makes more sense to go elsewhere at this point because other apps have better features for less.

In regards to service, it is jut bad. If you have a payment issue, don't think about working for 2 days. If your processing does not work, rather than give you a grace period with access, they lock you out for 120 days with no access to anything. The only way to regain access is calling and making a payment. Well, once you do that, they then tell you that it may take 12 to 24 hours for your account to be live again. In no world should enabling access take 12 to 24 hours when i am literally on the platform working at night to avoid downtime for my teams, and access is instantly cut off at 12AM Pacific Time.

Find another company or build your own software. There is a very big reason why most complanies have left the Salesforce platform.

Would not Recommend!

I honestly cannot understand how Salesforce can call this a reliable system when my experience has been anything but. I have had repeated problems getting Salesforce to work, and on several occasions I have had to go into the office in my own time simply to get the system working again. The latest problem took 10 DAYS to fix — and even after waiting that long, the computer app still does not work at all. I cannot use the app. Instead, every single time I need to do my work, I have to go to the Salesforce webpage, wait for it to load, go through the login process and then go through the verification process again and again and again before I can even access what I need. This is incredibly frustrating when you have already spent an entire day working back-to-back shifts and then need to complete your notes. The last thing you need is to spend your own time battling with a system that should simply work. And getting help is another nightmare. It is difficult to actually speak to someone, and when you finally do, you seem to get handballed from one person to another rather than having someone take responsibility for fixing the problem.
I have wasted far too much of my own time dealing with Salesforce technical issues. Ten days to resolve the latest problem, only to still have the app completely unusable, is simply not good enough.
A system used by people to perform essential work should be dependable and straightforward. Instead, Salesforce has made completing a basic task unnecessarily difficult and incredibly frustrating. I would absolutely NOT recommend Salesforce. Based on my experience, it is unreliable, time-consuming and an absolute headache to use. If you are considering Salesforce, be prepared to spend a ridiculous amount of time just trying to get the damn thing working.

Seriously broken mandatory "Security"

Seriously broken mandatory "Security enhancements" introduced this summer.

Users being prompted for cumbersome mandatory Admin-user-level authentication procedures even though they are not privileged users and support admits it shouldn't be happening. Support team loves demanding additional video footage/evidence that you have already provided even though nothing has changed. And the Admin-user level strong authentication is so half baked that you don't have the ability to create a second backup physical token, so you can easily get locked out because they don't let you create two physical security tokens as a fallback.

Salesforce is a complete waste

Salesforce is poorly designed, extremely difficult to use and a complete waste of money. We jumped into using Salesforce with the idea that could help sales people easily follow up on leads and not have customers falling through the cracks. The reality is that users spent more time trying learn it than any amount of time it saved. After multiple frustrations with the user experience, we decided to cancel and go a different route. That opened up a whole new can of worms. Tried cancelling from the website. Nope, can't do that. Tried calling the service number. Nope, they won't cancel your contract either. No legit business makes it that difficult to terminate services. As far as I'm concerned Salesforce is just a scam to grab your business' money, but not provide any useful service. Stay far, far away!

Horrible experience. signed contract for 5.08 and they charged me 5.54 per user and are sending my bill to collections. no one will reply to my case or emails

My experience with Salesforce billing has been unbelievably frustrating. We signed an agreement that clearly listed our Slack Pro rate at $5.08 per user and even specifically identified the active-user usage rate as $5.08, yet when billing questions arose, I was bounced around between Billing and our Account Executive with vague explanations about a “renewal uplift” instead of anyone simply explaining the charges against the agreement we signed. Getting a straightforward answer to a straightforward billing question should not require multiple emails, contract reviews, and escalation between departments. For a company the size of Salesforce, the lack of transparency, ownership, and basic customer service is astonishing. It feels like the contract is crystal clear when Salesforce wants to collect money, but suddenly requires interpretation when the customer questions the bill. Extremely disappointing experience and a great example of how not to handle a long-term customer relationship.

Impossible to cancel

Impossible to cancel. Customer Service is unresponsive. They still charged our card after several emails and phone calls to cancel within the contractual period, and continue to ignore us.

Utterly frustrating and time consuming…

Utterly frustrating and time consuming software to use! Our workflow and efficiency dramatically decreased after salesforce was introduced into our organisation.
The interface is counter-intuitive and very annoying.
I wish we never started using this completely irrelevant software package and I can only advise other organisations not to make the same mistake.

If only I could give less

If only I could give less. The slowest, most backwards ancient solution there is. The marketing cloud is decades behind its competitors. Any changes made to one place will require changing everything connected, dynamic content only works after a LONG wait from data cloud, forms cannot be made multi language, and again everything is SO EXTREMELY SLOW. Every move needs its own automation. There are no upsides. If you want to pay this much, give yourself a break and go hubspot. The only good thing they have is a stellar sales team, capable of fooling CEOs into it.
