As our dog had suddenly collapsed we were obviously very distressed arriving at your practice at 10pm. However, the calm friendly welcome we received was much appreciated posted. The nurse was so kin... See more

About Vets Now
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Staff and service were amazing from me ringing Sunday morning , arriving at the vets and their kindness , communication and treatment of our dog throughout the day . They were brilliant . Absolutely recommend them .

Blown away by the emergency op and service received at the Peterborough branch over the bank Holiday, whilst my own vets was closed. Such a lovely team that reassured me through the tough moments and I was just thrilled to have met such great people that were caring for our lab.

The Vet i saw was a definite 5star my main concern is the price to be seen in an emergency. You expect to pay more when your own Vets are closed but £302:50 is a trifle expensive.
Emergency Service
The service was excellent especially in an emergency situation like ours the process was explained every step of the way and the treatment immediately administered very happy customer

I was able to get Ace treated promptly on 30/8/26
Arrived at 11.30 pm ….. wait 2.5 hours
Arrived at 11.30 pm
Receptionist saw us and we weighed our dog!
Then waited for 2.5 hours (eventually found a switch to open to external doors as we were locked in!) having shouted through lots of doors to ask why we hadn’t been seen. Nobody around at all!!!!!!
Thinking that obviously they had an emergency.
Once we were able to get out the building we pressed the buzzer … seen promptly but were told the vets had no idea we were there. Saw our dog and treated her. So the actual vet side was amazing. The 2.5 hour wait was unacceptable and to be still charged £612 was in my opinion unfair! In this instance waiving some of the emergency call fee would have made things a little better.

Fantastic service for my little dog as an emergency
I brought my 13 year old cocker spaniel…
I brought my 13 year old cocker spaniel in due to breathing and coughing issues. I was dealt with compassion as i was blubbing like a baby. They thoroughly checked over my girl and went through all options available, even ringing my husband to inform him of options. They didnt rush me in making a decision. They showed immense compassion, care and love and advised of next steps if no improvement. All the staff were kind and caring.
Poor claims admin
The actual service we received for our dog's bronchitis was good. However, I paid the additional fee for Vets Now to administer the claim. Over four weeks later and I am still phoning the Claims Dept chasing them to submit the claim to my insurance company. Always promised it will be done, but never is. Meanwhile, I remain out of pocket for a not inconsiderable amount of money.
Excellent service
All staff from the lady who answered my initial call, to the receptionist and vet were friendly, helpful and polite. Totally transparent about cost involved . Quick appointment and treatment.

The staff were so friendly and reassuring , from first point of contact to after treatment . Would be recommending to family and friends .
Such a caring and calm team...
Such a caring and calm team, we were seen really quickly, explained everything very clearly and answered all our questions. Looked after our dog so well during an overnight stay. Would definitely recommend if you're in the unfortunate position of needing emergency care for your loved 4-legged family member.
excellent care…
Our cavapoo received excellent care over the bank holiday weekend. Vets were extremely professional, diagnosing her condition and starting her on the right treatment. They took time to explain her condition to us which we appreciated greatly. Thank you!
Jury's Out
Fantastic at treating my dog, although quite expensive!
After being told the cost would be recovered through my insurers they treated my dog. After treatment they wanted full payment from me, then accepted part payment, the rest they would sort out through my insurers. That was over 6 weeks ago and they still haven't done it.
Very efficient at treatment, very expensive, not that efficient at finishing the process.

My cat was in an emergency out of office hour, and I was referred to Now Vets. I’ve got a quick booking and my cat was treated. All those happened in no more than two hours time.
Although the vets were good the pricing…
Although the vets were good the pricing was appalling. Charging £78 for something that costs £10 online or £20 at my day vets is daylight robbery. Charging £20 to dispense peg drug is an absolute scam. My vets do not charge this. I understand a call out charge as such but the drug prices were absolutely disgusting. Shameful taking advantage of desperate pet owners
Went to emergency vets
Went to emergency vets, was told on call dyuring the booking that when i go I could use Klarna to pay as prices are extortionate. Only when i get there the receptionist said no u cant, we only take klarna at certain times of day, which is ridiculous. There was a room full of people waiting and they only had 1 vet working
Staff were brilliant
Staff were brilliant, super friendly and weren't afraid of my big dog.
It was an emergency visit so my dog was nervous at the rush to get there an they took time to make sure my dog was comfortable with them.
