Usually I love Green Motion but my last experience was awful. The first car offered had a problem with the steering column and so a second was then given - this may have caused the issue! On returning the car and signed off as ok I awaited the return of the £1,500 holding deposit. This is usually returned in 7-10 days. This time it took a month which is just not acceptable - although it wasn’t a charge on my card it effectively blocked £1,500 of credit.
I always receive great service and get refunded everytime. Bongani from Sandton is amazing and I am definitely a repeat customer.
Never again, horrible experience. There's no impartiality in the criteria. Never again, not even recommended.
Staff were helpful when picking up and dropping off the vehicle. I needed assistance to get to the checking ounter and they dropped us off at the terminal. And it was done with a smile.
Quick meet up upon arrival, all formalities completed in 5 minutes, all the time in contact with office if needed assistance.
Very disappointing experience – €890 unfairly deducted from my €900 deposit!
I am genuinely saddened and disappointed to have to write this review. I have always tried to act honestly and responsibly, which makes the way this situation has been handled particularly upsetting.
From 17 to 24 September, my wife, F. de With, rented a Fiat Panda from this company. We drove to a campsite approximately 250 kilometres away from the rental location.
Upon arrival, we noticed that something was scraping underneath the car while driving along a bumpy road. It turned out to be the plastic undertray protecting the engine. My wife immediately contacted the rental company to report the problem because we wanted to be honest and prevent further damage.
We were told to bring the car back and exchange it for another one, which would have meant driving 250 kilometres there and another 250 kilometres back. To avoid further damage, we instead visited a garage just 3 kilometres away, where the loose undertray was secured.
The garage owner told us that the undertray had been loose for quite some time and that the damage indicated the problem had existed for several weeks. According to his assessment, this was not something we had caused during our rental period. He also estimated that replacing the entire undertray would cost a maximum of approximately €120, including labour.
When I returned the car, I explained everything and provided the garage's written statement. Despite this evidence, the rental company still charged me for the damage.
Out of my €900 deposit, €890 was withheld!
I find this completely disproportionate and deeply unfair. The garage estimated the replacement cost at around €120, yet almost my entire deposit was taken. I genuinely cannot understand how the company justified such a large deduction.
What hurts me most is that I did the right thing. We reported the problem immediately, tried to prevent further damage and provided supporting evidence. I could have said nothing, but I chose to be honest. Now I feel as though my honesty has worked against me.
I am not only angry about the money; I am genuinely sad and disappointed by the way I have been treated. I expected the company to investigate the situation fairly and take into account the garage's findings before charging me such a substantial amount.
This experience has completely destroyed my trust in this company. It is upsetting that I now find myself wondering whether it is even worth reporting a problem honestly in the future. Customers should be able to trust that doing the right thing will be met with fairness and respect.
I consider this treatment extremely unfair, and I am genuinely saddened by the entire experience. My advice to anyone renting from this company is to photograph the car thoroughly before driving away and keep all evidence and correspondence.
I tried to handle this situation honestly and responsibly, yet I feel seriously let down. This is an experience I will not forget, and I would never rent a car from this company again.
The guys there are always super friendly, great cars. Very easy to work with them and the prices are very competitive. I’ve been using them for about 3 years now. Highly recommend
Nothing went wrong, only you had no cars available on date I was looking for.
Yes the service was great ,except they forgot to put the Carpets in the car but over and above they where great
Last time I rented a car here, the service was excellent, just like the time before. Professional and very helpful. I'd be happy to rent from you again. Thank you
Great and trustworthy rental company. The process went smoothly, we received the car quite quickly, and the car provided in good and clean condition. Staff were helpful
1.the woman gave me a car with a lot of km.she left me the car with out explanation about it.evan how to turn on the light.
2.i wanted a car with multimedia screen-no answer was given.
3.why i have to call to pick me at the a/p .it must be frequent
I only gave it a 3 because of the good work of the staff member we dealt with. Booked the car weeks in advance, got there, no car! Then wouldnt release the car without me paying more as my credit card, which they happily accepted upon booking, had 3 months till expiry, another issue. And to cap it all they tried to charge me £100 for a parking offence that occurred in the car whilst i was 30000 feet in the air above England! Needless to say i will never book again
