Absolutely appalling booking system and customer service. A huge disappointment for a long-time visitor.

As a huge fan of space and astronomy, I have been visiting the National Space Centre with my daughter for years. We have enjoyed coming here on numerous occasions, and it has always been somewhere I loved taking her to share my passion for space and science.

Unfortunately, over the years, the experience has deteriorated drastically, particularly when it comes to the booking system. What should be a simple and enjoyable family day out has become an unnecessarily frustrating experience.

I purchased an annual pass dated 4 January 2026, yet when trying to book a visit for myself and my daughter for Sunday 25 October, the website repeatedly tells me that my membership number is invalid.

I have been trying since Saturday to resolve this, without success.

What makes this even more ridiculous is that the National Space Centre welcomes visitors at weekends, yet its customer service department only operates Monday to Friday. So when your booking system fails on a weekend, there is apparently nobody available to help.

What exactly is the point of paying for an annual pass if you cannot reliably use it?

Families plan their days out in advance, especially when children are involved. It is incredibly frustrating to have those plans potentially ruined by a faulty booking system and a complete lack of weekend support.

For an attraction dedicated to science, technology and innovation, it is rather ironic that something as basic as an online booking system appears to be such a challenge.

And for an attraction of this size and reputation, having no customer support available during the very days when families are most likely to visit is simply unacceptable.

What disappoints me most is that I genuinely love this place. I have supported it for years, brought my daughter here repeatedly, and wanted to continue doing so. But the deterioration in the visitor experience, particularly the booking process, is becoming increasingly difficult to justify.

An annual pass should provide convenient access, not become an obstacle to visiting.

The National Space Centre should seriously reconsider how it manages bookings and supports paying customers, particularly annual pass holders.

Extremely disappointing, especially coming from someone who has genuinely loved visiting this place for years.
