Five months in with the Handsling A1R0evoG, and I overall am very pleased with the bike.

This is my second Handsling — I bought an A1R0evo two years ago, and part of why I came back is the customer service. It's rare to deal with a brand where a quick email gets an answer within a working day or so. The Handsling team quickly connects my name with the bike I purchased from them including the customisations I made. They are also really knowledgeable about their bikes and sometimes even Handsling’s founder Simon will reply on emails. This level of service you most likely cannot find with bigger brands, and it's a big part of why I trust Handsling enough to buy from them twice.

The bike itself earns its "do it all" reputation. I've raced it in gravel events where it feels sharp and quick but also went on multi-day bikepacking trips. The mounting points are really comprehensive — frame bag, fork mounts, top tube, even the ability to fit mudguards (if you want to).

As with my first Handsling, the full customisation is a highlight. Geometry, build kit, and paint were all mine to choose, and getting a bike 100% built as I wanted (rather than an off-the-shelf one) still feels like a real perk for the price point.

One thing to consider when building the bike is the gearing. If you are using the bike primarily for gravel racing, a more aggressive gearing might make sense but given the bike can also be used for bikepacking, maybe rather go for a 40T (or smaller) chainring at the front. I went for a 42T chainring at the front and I will probably replace this with a 40T at some point.

To summarise it all: five months on, no regrets, and I'd happily buy a third bike from Handsling

I recently invested in the Velocite Wheels UK Carbon Ultra Wheels, and they've truly elevated my cycling experience. The 1299g weight is a game-changer, making acceleration noticeably quicker, and the reduced rotational mass adds a level of agility that I hadn't experienced with my previous wheels.
