Recommending Simon Marsh

I had a no-mesh inguinal hernia operation with Simon Marsh yesterday. After doing my own research, decided to opt for no mesh. Mr Marsh was very personable and clear and professional and reassuring, exactly what you would hope for and expect from a senior Harley Street consultant. My operation seems to have gone well, and hopefully will heal successfully. I recommend Mr Marsh.

It seems strange to leave a hugely glowing review when my diagnosis isnt so great but I have to write that 108 Harley Street and particularly Mr Simon Marsh are amazing .
From the minute you go in, there is smiley Mohammed at reception, the team downstairs where you have the various tests and scans to Mr Marsh himself I felt looked after reassured and treated with enormous kindness. I am completely confident that going forward I will be in very safe expert hands and Im so grateful for the care I have received to date.
I genuinely couldn't recommend them more.

I have been going to 108 Harley street…

I have been going to 108 Harley street for many years. My consultant is Mr Simon Marsh who is a charming and kind man. However on the last two occasions that I have been for my routine check-ups I have experienced rudeness when trying to make my appointment on the phone, and when I went for my mammogram the receptionist in the imaging department was cold and offhand. The mammographer was aggressive and unpleasant. I walked out of 108 harley street feeling extremely upset, I will never return again.

Disappointed

Cold, clinical staff. Results impossible to understand, totally unhelpful. Would never return.

Once again, your kindness and help for my wife has been outstanding.
In a matter of afew weeks you have given us answers and conclusions for Samantha to look forward positively regarding her ailment.
If 6 stars were able to be given, that would be an understatement!

I would think carefully before booking…

I would think carefully before booking second opinion for cancer unless you are so rich you don’t mind being mislead on pricing and go through a lot of stress.

I was misdiagnosed with a benign condition by my hospital and it turned out to be cancer that is usually seen on imaging. It wasn’t all taken out. This frightened me and given that was faced with delays in NHS For further treatment. I decided to get the imaging checked to find out if there were other sites of cancer

I rang radiology sept and was told I could not just get scans read but had to see a doctor first —so I scraped up the extra money for that and booked a second opinion

As I couldn’t open the MRI and ultra sound at the appointment and it was the end of the day, I was told to get the hospital to send them direct

I did that immediately and scans were sent promptly the next morning, but when I rang radiology to find out about results they put me though to the office who demanded hundreds of pounds more before doing it

So I ended up paying money I had scraped together only to get a letter saying what I already knew. The doctor was excellent but that is not the point because I didn’t want to be told all about the cancer, I wanted to know what was on the scans.

To add insult to injury the letter from the doctor when it came reminded me to send in the scans sent days before!! Crucially it didn’t say that there would be a fee for it… so I felt mislead bu that invitation.

The fee I had paid for the second opinion did include checking the imaging …mri and uktra sound (and it would have been £100 cheaper to just chat to a doctor)

They should make it clear if you are unable to open the imaging from the hospital and need to have it sent to them via a portal, that it should be done before the appointment It further hefty fees will be charged. They should also tell you to get the hospital to give it to them direct before the appointment to be sure it gets there and can be opened.

The final insult was the admin team telling me that I could have just had the images read if that was what I wanted.

And then a manager ringing and emailing for two days to investigate when I just wanted to be left in peace. And then ringing again this morning to say they would read it free today.

They didn’t. I have spent all day in anxious anticipation of knowing how much micro-invasion and of the original not totally excised lesion is left. But the promised results have not come.

It’s dreadfully upsetting and the last thing you need when you have cancer

So learn from this —if they had told me to get the hospital to send them direct to them, in the first place, none of this would have happened and I would have known a week ago what exactly was happening with my cancer

I’ve spent money couldn’t afford only to be given additional stress waiting for results they won’t give me for almost a week now. Perhaps it would be different if I was paying for private treatment?

That said, I can imagine if you don’t mind not being told that things you are lead to believe you have paid for costs 100% extra and you have plenty of money, I can imagine it’s great because the doctor was excellent and all the reception/admin staff lovely and very flexible in changing my initial appointment when I didn’t get the scans fast enough for the original one.

My Experience at 108 Harley St
I did mammogram and ultra sound and biopsy at the clinic , the nurses and doctors were efficient , later I have seen Mr. Marsh , excellent surgeon ,he explained everything in details what is he is going to do , accompanied me to the secretary to arrange all the details with the hospital , I felt relaxed and comfortable at 108, they know what they are doing , I want to congratulate dr. Mr.Marsh and the young ladies working at the clinic .After the operation Mr. Marsh continued to look after me on weekly basis , when all things were good , he told me , I can travel back to my country ,so I said good- bye to everyone and book a flight back to my country . Londoners are lucky to have such a clinic of high standard and excellent surgeon like Mr.Marsh . I plan to come back in few months for follow up , I recommend 108 Harley St highly 💐
