The assisted service was really helpful and very quick. I've used it for a number of years and continue to be satisfied.

Very poor. I tried to use this for a simple self-assessment return. I have three partnerships - it only offered me the forms for one. Two were non-trading over the past year so I continued. CGT rates changed mid-year and it didn't take that into account - tried to calculate the tax on the highest rate. Completely wrong. I switched to another software provide and their package got to the same answer as me - less than half the figure from 123e-filing. Wouldn't go near them again.

I thought I could do this on my own - as I had done previously - but then got stuck.
You guided me through the procedure very patiently and was pleased to have your input.
I wouldn't have managed otherwise.

Prompt service
I was unable to submit my return due to a problem with my HMRC credentials but they contacted me by email and were able to submit my return. I'd paid for an assisted service and they were very prompt in reviewing my return before I made the changes they advised. My return was successfully submitted.

Submission unsuccessful, No refund
From the beginning I've told them that it's my first time doing this on my own instead of using the accountant. After filling out the data and PAID, the submission to HMRC wasn't successful. The help chat told me my password to the Gateway number was wrong for having a special digit and asked me to change it. I did and received a new Gateway number. The submission still didn't work. It's near the deadline. He then said I needed to activate something which needs a code to be mailed from HMRC to me. It would be very tight with the deadline. I needed to get the accountant to do it after all. They won't refund it. So be warned before you pay!!.I have screenshot the latest conversation with their chat person. You should always do it from the beginning as they disappear to avoid accountability.

This service used to be good - waste of time now
This service used to be good. Now it does not recognise a password no matter how many times it is changed in line with your instructions. It is a total waste of time. It costs me more in lost time than I pay in subscription. 123 reg NEVER recognises a changed password, even when it is right in front of me and there are no errors in the wording. You ask me which day it was a problem! IT'S EVERY DAY

Frustrating experience - beware! 3 attempts = 3 x money taken
Having moved abroad, I have to use one of the HMRC approved online companies to submit my tax return. I had to make a small amend to my bank account name as it did not include the whole name. I contacted their chat to be told I would have to resubmit and pay them £18 again. So I did (albeit not happily!). Same problem again. Then I get told '& is not supported in this box, please enter and instead' but there is no such instruction on their website. Nor was there an error message to say the "&" was not compatible and to use a different format. I had another issue earlier on trying to remove a page - the link they told me to press didn't exist. 5 -6 attempts and it just wasn't there. Then another link they put in the chat is no longer valid - HMRC changed it 3 months ago. So they're not keeping up to date with HMRC website - just happily charging £18 per submission even if the amend is just one letter!!! NEVER AGAIN! Will use one of the others in future.

have used these for years no problem…
have used these for years no problem today they charge me twice, admit to charging me twice but think it is ok to keep it for a credit. now I have to go through a process with PayPal to try and get the Money returned. unacceptable your reply if you check your go to was to hold the money as credit I was returned the money by PayPal as I called them. try being honest not twisting facts
