We booked this five star hotel in…

We booked this five star hotel in Copenhagen for a three night stay. We found that the location of the hotel was very amenable to the necessities such as the train station and great bars and restaurants. It was very easy to travel around The City. Upon arriving at the hotel staff were very friendly. This unfortunately changed throughout the duration of our stay.

We booked the hotel to use its spa facilities however on check-in were told that the spa was not available to use. I booked the holiday through loveholidays and throughout the process of my booking there was no mention of the spa not being in use which affected our stay in Copenhagen and itinerary greatly. The hotel’s website showed pictures and illustrated the spa.

The ambience and decor of the hotel is lovely. Our room was clean but quite dusty which caused an allergic reaction. It appeared that the shower hadn’t been used for a while and there was a very strong and awful odour when we first used it. This was rectified as we ran the hot water for a few minutes, however cleaning your own bathroom in a five star hotel is not something we expected to do!

The bar and restaurant staff were great and probably some of the best service I have ever received! However, during our last day, I suffered from food poisoning.

The mini bar is extortionately expensive! There is also very little to no storage for luggage and/or personal belongings. There were three of us in a queen room and using the sofa for our luggage wasn’t ideal!

Upon checkout, we asked the hotel to keep our bags while we made the most out of our final day in The City following checkout. When we returned to collect our luggage and bags we were told that they were missing. I found that very little effort was made to locate our bags in a timely manner, which had our passports in. We had to wait around 25 minutes for our bags to be located while we panicked about missing our flight. Our personal belongings were finally located and we were told that they were taken up to a different room by mistake. We receive an apology from the bellboy only. A complimentary drink in the bar wouldn’t have gone amiss! When we left the hotel, there was no greeting which we found a bit odd considering the reception received on the first day.
