I raised a formal complaint on 19 May regarding duplicate charges, incorrect payment processing, third-party payment cards being linked to my membership, and the conduct of staff. As of 3 July, I still haven’t received a final response despite repeatedly chasing for answers.
During my membership I experienced duplicate charges where payments were taken via Apple Pay and then again from the card registered to my membership. After my friend bought us a milkshake using her Apple Pay, her card somehow became linked to my membership and £229 for my monthly membership was later taken from her card without her permission. I was also charged no-show and standby fees despite attending the club or waiting on standby because there was no space available in a class.
I was later told that a £29 refund had been processed, but I have never received it. It appears the refund was issued to a card that is not mine. Given my experience, I found this extremely concerning and it has left me with little confidence in the payment system. I would encourage members to regularly check their bank statements for unexpected charges, duplicate payments and refunds.
The instructors are absolutely fantastic and are the reason I joined. Unfortunately, my experience with management was the complete opposite. I found the manager at Oxford Circus rude, the front-of-house team at St John’s Wood unhelpful, and senior management dismissive and passive-aggressive in their responses. Rather than taking accountability, providing clear explanations or resolving my complaint, I felt my concerns were repeatedly dismissed.
During the complaints process I was unable to use my membership. Instead of properly investigating the issues, I was informed that I was banned. My friend, whose card had been linked to my membership and charged £229 without her permission, was later stopped at the Chelsea studio, asked for ID and told she could no longer use ClassPass.
I expected accountability, transparency, an apology and a resolution. Instead, my complaint remains unresolved, I have received no final response, and both my friend and I have been excluded rather than the issues being addressed. This has been an extremely disappointing customer experience.
From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave the vibe is incredible. The front of house staff are lovely and really helpful. The trainers are incredible and the programming for classes is on point. I am fully addicted. If you are thinking about booking in you won't regret it.

I have always signed up to 1Rebel because I liked the classes, the instructors and the friendliness of the staff. However, recently I had the worst experience of my life. I signed up for the 6 month membership, which I wasn’t able to complete because I was living the country earlier than expected. As a student, housing in london is full of challenges and it is really stressful. So, I asked to cancel my membership earlier. I sent my student ID, a letter from my Landlord, my flight ticket. However, I was accused of using AI tools, and all this, because they didn’t want to believe my relocation outside of London, outside of the UK.
I am very disappointed and frustrated by these companies. I have love every class at 1Rebel, but recent events and extraordinary high prices, and cancellation fees that other gyms do not apply offering the same services, if not better, really left me wondering if it is ever worth signing up to 1Rebel.

My friend and I regularly go to 1Rebel in Victoria. We really love it there, the classes are amazing and the staff are lovely. Particularly Alex and Jacob who have helped my friend and I with various issues. Recently my friend had some issues with her card and they were super happy to help and rectify it. She is also epileptic and struggles with strobe lighting and the staff were again more than happy to accommodate a change in the class so she could safely enjoy! We regularly attend Abdallah’s bring a buddy ride session and he is amazing! We love his classes and always feel very comfortable and welcome there and we will continue to visit!!

The classes are great. However, in the last month I have been mistakenly charged a £10 no show fee 3 times, for classes which I attended.
The staff refunded me. However, there was no apology and, had I not sported the charges, I'd be £30 out of pocket.

Great reformer classes and good vibes. Special thanks to Cherine at reception for always being so welcoming and helpful!

Never go there ! The worst place in the entire wellness clubs scene . Extremely unprofessional.. rude and quite illegitimate.. A total disgrace

classes are good enough so made the big decision to join as a member on a six month contract. In my first week I didn't make a class (I arrived late because of personal reasons I didn't want to divulge). Anyway lost my credit and was charged £10. No first warning which I think was a little mean.
Person I spoke to said they had discretion to remove this charge but they wouldn't be on this occasion.
I missed the class because something awful happened. £10 isn't even a huge amount of money. It's the way I was treated that upset me, especially after a bad day. We pay extortionate membership fees for gyms like rebel one because we want a higher quality of service. When I've been a member at Barry's, psycle, third space, I'd only need to quietly explain that something awful had happened and I'd be refunded. Obviously not repeatedly, but for a one off.
Save your money and just join puregym

I have generally had a bad experience with staff who were very rude and the policies that were very predatory/inflexible. Their cancellation policy is very rigid and at times unfair. I lost a credit one time because i cancelled for being sick and another time for arriving less than 1 min past the start time. Also, if you ask for a couple of days extension on your credit, they charge an extra fee. Feels this is a very predatory organistaion and won't be coming back

Great energy from the trainers and friendly front desk. Space is well kept - clean and equipment well maintained. Amenities (shower and post shower products), towels, and cool towel all very nice 😊

I had a pleasant experience each time I visited 1Rebel. The reception staff are pleasant and helpful. The Reformer classes I took were upbeat and challenging in a great way. The instructors are knowledgeable and provide modifications as needed. I highly recommend 1Rebel.

Great classes , structured well - allowing for all abilities.
Sparkling showers and great changing facilities making a pre work workout easy.
Staff were friendly and helpful .

The amount of people in a classroom makes the experience overwhelming. The music and lights doesn’t allow the instructor to see and provide any corrections to the form during the practice.
