1to1 Flooring: Second to None!

1to1 Flooring in St Albans delivered first class service from beginning to end as we replaced all of the floor coverings throughout our house following a most unwelcome surprise at Christmas (a burst pipe).

In our experience we found all the people, the products (Westex carpet and Amtico tiling), the price … and the process were all of the highest standard. This was a big and complex job carried out in a remarkably smooth operation by people, who without exception, went the extra mile.

I should like to compliment all the key people that worked together to transform our house. Starting with Wayne, in the St Albans showroom, who using his knowledge, advanced technology (with a large AI visualizer) and samples, helped us to decide what to choose. Then there was the estimator, Mark, who was very experienced and it showed in the wealth of information and advice he gave. The arrangement for the fitting dates were adeptly adjusted by Tracy and Millie to suit us. And finally, to the fitting itself. Matt and Rhys (laying the Amtico) and Carl (fitting the Westex carpet) each did a wonderful piece of work and deserve special credit. And finally, finally, Dave who came to efficiently ease the doors and plynths.

I was so so impressed by Jenny Copson at 1to1 in Berkhamsted. I had popped in to review samples and she couldnt have been lmore informative and just giving us space to decide if they had an option that suited us or not.

When it came to ordering Jenny went out of her way to expedite our order as we had an expectedly ahort timeframe to work with.

The whole experience was what I regularly hope i’ll get, but it rarely achieved with most companies.

Jenny is a superstar and I will definitely be ysing 1to1 again in the future.

Paul and all the staff at the St Albans showroom were extremely helpful and customer focused- from the estimator to the fitters. Highly recommend!

Wayne and Paul were very knowledgeable and helpful in the process of choosing our flooring and carpet. Mark did the measurements at the house and was very professional to deal with. Would definitely recommend.

We first visited Dee at the showroom in Shefford who was helpful and friendly along with giving advice on the different types of LVT flooring. We were allowed to pay a deposit and take some samples home and this was so worth doing as in your own homes they can look different and we chose a different colour by doing this. Luke came and measured who was friendly polite and knowledgable. The fitter Kieran has done an amazing job and was very efficient and thorough. We couldn't believe the LVT came in small strips. The quality and finish is first class and actually looks like real wood. We have already recommended 1 to 1 and will be coming back this year for some more LVT and carpets. Keep up the good work. Really smooth and flexible floor laying service from Tom and Callum. Hard working to a really high spec. I am delighted with the result. The Amtico is spectacular. All the joins and edges are fantastic. The bars are first class. Solid job.

We had the carpet on 2 flights of stairs and landings replaced recently.

We recently had Vinyl floor covering laid in our bathroom and prior to this had concerns about it being laid in one piece without joins or gaps round the base of the bath, hand basin and WC. However, thanks to the skilful workmanship of Matt the fitter, we need not have been worried as the Vinyl was laid to perfection and better than we could have possibly hoped for. Great job

a bad experience and stressful. i ordered quick step flooring off the luton showroom. 23square meters. of 8mm laminate supplied and fitted paid for it over the phone. just a few days later i wanted to upgrade my order to 12mm laminate. and was happy to pay the extra cost but i was hit with a £185 restocking charge for charging to 12 mm which i disputed so i was left with no option but to cancel my whole order and the shop manger then said they would keep my order£750 deposit i had paid. so after numerous Emails. and weeks of stress. they finally returned my deposit minus £125 so i would not advise anyone to buy flooring here if you want a stress free and hassle free purchase

The whole process from enquiry to choosing to fitting was excellent. The branch in Shefford is local to me and it was great to be able to support a local business. They have an extensive range and the expertise to provide a great service. The fitter was efficient and left everything tidy and looking fabulous.

I've visited 1-to-1 several times over the past year or so - Matt has always been nothing but helpful and polite. The expertise he has on all his products shines through, and he is generous with both his time and lending samples, which made all the difference to our final decision. I felt at ease browsing the showroom at length, despite returning multiple times and bringing samples to compare against etc - a pleasure to visit somewhere and not feel under any pressure.

5 stars reflected in the fact I’ve lost count of how many projects I’ve worked with 1to1 on. Delighted with the service for over 10 years now. Had both herringbone style floor and carpet from them.

I went to this retailer as they had the type of carpeting I was looking for, whilst the service and advice was first class I was not informed that my carpet was made in India and that I would have to wait such a long time for it to arrive in the uk. I ordered the carpet in mid February and was told I had to pay a 50% deposit up front of £3,000.00 which I did , the carpet didn’t arrive into the Uk until the 31st July and was finally fitted the first week of August.What I object to is the company holding my deposit for five months, then when it arrived in the county I had to complete the purchase before seeing the carpet or approving the final fit.I think if I had known the lead time would have taken so long I would have taken my custom else where.However , the fitters were first class and the carpet looks great so it’s a difficult one.I think a five month lead time when you have not been given that information up front and the company having my substantial deposit for all of that time a hard pill to swallow but maybe I’m naive.

We recently bought and had fitted a living room carpet from 1to1 Flooring in Barnet. We were extremely happy with the service provided, from the team in the showroom through to the fitters. Carl (the fitter) and his assistant were very polite and respectful of our property, and we are really happy with the finished result (and have had several complimentary comments from visitors!). The pricing was competitive, and communication was excellent. We would definitely use this company again in the future.

Very disappointed with the poor coordination and back-office mismanagement at 1to1 Flooring. I had agreed on a specific felt underlay for my landing and stairs, but during fitting, a completely different underlay was used without any prior discussion. The fitters were innocent in this—they simply installed what they were given. When I raised the issue, the team first insisted this was the original plan. Now, today, they're giving a different reason, saying they changed it “for levelling the floor.” None of this was communicated to me in advance, and I was never given a choice. This lack of transparency and last-minute decision-making is unprofessional. I expected better for a paid service
