Shady sales tactics...I ordered and they tricked me into doubling my order by making it unclear what I was agreeing to. They billed me for more than what I wanted then realized there is no support number and no one replied to my request for help.

Fantastic response time, a very dedicated team filled to the brim with kindness and resourcefulness. Highly recommend their product. Big thumbs up.

I ordered a xl for my son. Paid extra to get it in 5 days for my son. Well 10 days later no package. Just a message showing I wouldn't get it till the next year. I sent an email to ask to be refunded. No reply. This is a garbage company. I had to do a charge back with my bank. So I guess it is the 23rd of December . Now I have to hustle to get my child a gift. Thanks scammers

I couldn't track my parcel, so i contacted them. Jack replied to me the following day, and was very efficient. The problem was coming from the courrier. I can't wait for my son to have it at Xmas. I think it will be a good experience and fun for him and us. I highly recommend it.

Over 2 weeks, haven't received the product...

It was a blast putting the console together. The video was excellent, to the point, and extremely accurate. I had a bit of a problem using my Mac in the programming phase but the support was right there to help every inch of the way. After the last nut was tightened - I turned the power switch "on" and there it was.... WOW! Games I can remember from way back when... Now on to programming....

I have nothing to say other than the support is phenomenal, the build is simple to follow the video is clear on what to do. The part I loved was as soon as I was through building it I was ready for the programming part. I hit a small snag on loading a cool game from arduboy site and the support was more than willing to help in solving why it wouldn’t display properly. With all their help I have learned so much and would not hesitate to recommend this project for anyone that like spending time with their kids and learning a new skill. Thank you very much.

I purchased 2 8bitCADE XL's and the toolkit box for my 13 year old son and I to build together. It was an absolute blast! We both have learned a ton from this process and it is a great and fun way to get introduced to electronic components, soldering and programming. Sadly, we both had issues with our completed kits (due to our own mistakes). Not to fear! We have received amazing support from the creator of this project Jack Daly. He handled our situation with a lot of grace and has been incredibly helpful and informative not to mention he was very quick to respond (typically within the day). I highly recommend the 8bitCADE XL to anyone and I hope the creator obtains his deserved success!

The process of building our 8BitCADE XL was great for me and my 11-year-old son, and we highly recommend it for anyone who's interested in building a game console, either with a child or on their own.

The instructions are clear and available in PDF and video format. As long as you're comfortable with soldering, the project is completely doable.

The company's support was helpful and quick wrt identifying issues and troubleshooting. For example, after building our project and charging its battery, the screen wasn't working. We sent photos to 8BitCADE and they were able to help diagnose the situation, and what we should try to get the console's screen to display. We followed that guidance and now the unit is working flawlessly (we had a bad solder joint connecting the screen to the board).

The process of building, troubleshooting and now playing with the console we constructed has been really enjoyable.

There are some really good games included. The ones we've spent the most time with so far are Virus, Castle Boy and Adventure.

We really like that the console allows us to upload additional Arduboy games, and while we haven't tried the game-building guides yet but knowing that they're available and an option for the console in the future is really great - it's a project we can keep building with.

The Console it self is great. The assembly was easy and clear. The pre installed games are nice. Just the shipment was a bit longer as usual, but that was maybe due covid 19. I would recommend everyone to build one yourself. I would appreciate if the new 8bitcade will be something like a nes or similir. Where you have to build your own controller and the system itself. Like a self build pc.
