The wait time is ridiculous

The wait time is ridiculous. Then the contractor that they have once the driver arrives he can't speak good English neither can he understand English. I called to speak with a supervisor and while explaining my situation to her in the middle of me explaining to her she said let me call you right back which was rude and she never called back

March 6

March 6, 2026, 6:25 AM,A tire on my car blew out on the Turpike South at mile marker 13. I immediately requested service from AAA, of which I have been a member since 2015. Five hours later, the tow truck still hadn't arrived, which is unacceptable, despite receiving text messages about the service being expected. I was served by another towing company, for which I had to pay $200.00 in expenses. This is an expense I wouldn't have incurred as an AAA member, whose membership is always paid on time. The corporation has lost all sense of shame and professional ethics.

Horrible

Horrible, horrible service! Happened 3/7/26 when my husband car got disabled in the cloverleaf interchange between Kearney and Jersey City. The man who came from a night shift work got stuck in a dangerous area where you cannot give triple A the exact address. We just depend on the photo he took and send to the dispatcher. We called several times and they keep promising somebody will be there in 15 minutes. Help is on the way. We called also 911 for highway patrol assistance but to no avail. I called early at 6:45a.m. And he just got home at 11:30 a.m. exhausted and frustrated. What’s the use of membership if there is inconsistent service quality, poor dispatcher communication and a looooong wait. Poor! Poor! Poor!

We waited 4 hours and they still did not show up. My friend an elderly person had a flat tire and needed a change. She was at a medical office that closed at 5:00. I stayed with her and ended up calling a friend to help her at 6:30.

Travel info terrible, roadside okay

Okay for roadside assistance although wait times can be long. For travel I give them zero stars. They used have good info for trips, but since they went digital, a lot of the good info is gone. If you want attractions for a long rural route then don't bother with AAA. So sad when they used to be so good.

Getting a tow truck

Firstly, i want to say that i called for a tow truck around 10:46pm, and have been waiting for 3 hours and 22 minutes. The time is now 2:28am and i have called several times, for trying to get the right and better ETA for the tow truck. I have been rerouted several times within my wait time for a tow truck. Overall, not impressed with Triple AAA and how it works at night.

Absolutely unacceptable

I’ve been a customer now for 13 years and most of the time, it’s pretty OK maybe a 45 minute wait. usually less. But I have had my car waiting to get towed now for four days. And every single time I called they’re like oh my God that’s so crazy. Let me put you on a quick hold to see if I can get a driver. And they allegedly get a driver and then they say the driver will call you back shortly. It was until today where I said this is enough, and I explained that I will not be put on hold, and I will not wait for a call back, put me through the dispatch so that I can sort this out without you guys messing anything up. And then finally, I get a hold of somebody. And she was very nice and very understanding and frankly furious that everybody else had failed to do their job. I need the entire AAA team to do a much better job. It’s really not that hard. Connect me with a towing company company and send them my way.

AAA Insurance — A Masterclass in How NOT to Treat Your Customers

I was in a collision on 12/30/2025 — 100% the other driver's fault — and my car was totaled. Great start to the new year. What followed was nearly 3 months of bureaucratic chaos, broken promises, and getting nickel-and-dimed out of almost $5,000 for an accident I didn't cause.
I have AAA with gap insurance. Should be simple, right? Wrong.
First, they told me they wouldn't pay out sales tax and registration fees — even though I bought a replacement vehicle within the 30-day window required by law. After fighting them on it, they agreed... then quietly backtracked and rolled those amounts into the settlement instead of paying me directly. Cute trick.
Meanwhile, the clock kept ticking on my loan. Two months of payments I had to keep making. Interest piling up. And now, after gap coverage, I still owe money on a car I don't have.

The system is broken and AAA is happy to exploit every gap (pun intended) in it. I've been a loyal customer and this is how they treat people in their most stressful moments. Absolutely disgraceful. Do better.

I have been a customer for 13 years and…

I have been a customer for 13 years and only used them twice in that time. I called today after my car died on the side of the parkway to be towed to a garage for repair. First I was told I had to be with the car at the time of towing. I had already left the car so needed a ride and called back. Then I was told the car was in Queens so it didn't qualify for a tow. It was in Nassau nowhere near the border of Queens; then I was transferred again to another guy that agreed it was not in Queens. As we made the arrangements for a pickup he told me it was on a piece of road that AAA couldn't go on. Really why didn't the first 2 people tell me that?! Queens?! They just didn't want to tow it, then say so. Horrible customer service and too many transfers! No more AAA for me.

Lie to and ripped off

So I purchased a membership because they had a discount and it also you could add a family member. That’s how you get the discount so I was told my miles would be 100. So when I needed a toad, I was told I can only be told for 3 miles and then it was seven dollars after that so then I called up to find out what was going on and I spoke to a woman who was nasty talking about this South Carolina only told for 3 miles so then she transferred me to another department and I told the woman I said I don’t wanna renew my membership. You know she was nice about it so then I waited and then I called back to talk to a supervisor. I spoke to a supervisor, and I told him that I was upset for the fact that you know I was told that I had 100 miles but I had to share it with a family member that I added on he said well no you only get 3 miles and so I asked them if I could have my money back because that’s not what I was told when I first purchased it and he told me I couldn’t get my money back and I said well who would pay for a policy to get tow for 3 miles he said well I can look around and see if there’s a car car garage or whatever where you can have your car towed to be fixed and I said I’m not gonna just go to any kind of Mechanic and have them work on my car and then charge me. I’m in a lake for It and I let him know that I was in my 60s and he said oh I can’t really do anything basically that’s what he was saying so now I’m 60 years old stuck because I only can get told for three blocks and AAA don’t care he had the nerve audacity to tell me I could upgrade my policy for more money like why would I do that? You’re already ripped me off for the policy I have now so why would I pay you more money besides the fact that that’s what you do you lied to people you tell them what they wanna hear until the time comes and then tell them that it’s seven dollars a mile after that don’t get this policy. You’re better off just going through your insurance company and they should get rid AAA

I have been a loyal customer for over twenty years. I'm done... So disappointed with their roadside assistance. First you get a quote that your tow truck will be there within thirty to forty minutes. Then I get another text saying, it will be three hours. That's around the average time i've waited the last three times I used their services falcon towing is the worst...

AAA Extra Fees and Failed Promises

AAA advertised a discount for paying my homeowner's insurance in full. They later claimed to have received may payment late and then tacked on $232.05 in extra charges and fees!

I visited the Portage, Michigan, branch of the insurance company, each time having to explain my story as no records appear to be kept. I had several calls with Rebecca Laing-Austin, the manager of the site. According to her last phone call, I should owe nothing additional. However, I have a month later received a notice that my insurance is about to be canceled for non-payment.

AAA used to be a reputable company. It's necessary to now find a successor for reasonable auto and home insurance.

Over 6 HOUR WAIT FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE!!!!!!

AAA Carolinas needs to SERIOUSLY improve its poor management of its network of service providers I just waited in a cold car for over 6 hours because of a completely flat tire and 3 very low tires because there were no service providers available. I was not in a remote location. I was 5 minutes from dowtown Durham and Duke University. Additionally, I have a Premier membership, and it makes me question the value of it at this point. All of the customer service representatives went over and beyond to regularly check on me and my safety and were compassionate and apologetic as AAA choice to pull availablity of providers from 11pm to 7am is a corporate problem not the reps. I was not able to sleep of course and thank goodness the area I was in was fairly safe. OVER 6 HOURS...TOTALLY INEXCUSEABLE!!!!!!!!! And this is not the first time I have had an rediculously long wait time with a previous time being an early weekday afternoon.

They don't deserve any stars

They don't deserve any stars. I've been broke down since 7pm and it's now 12:30am with no tow in site. Automated text keep saying they'll keep me updated as soon as they here from dispatch. The thing about it, this has happened several times with this service. Definitely will not be renewing!

The tow that never came..

Requested for a tow cause my transmission locked on me while driving. There was no shoulder to pull to so I was on the road still. Requested for tow at 12:02am, they called me every hour to check up on me and to tell me they’re still working on finding a tow truck. At 3am, they called me back to check up on my safety. I told them I’m still on the road and the car will not move. They told me to either wait until 9:30am for a tow truck to come out, or call someone else to come tow it and I “might” be eligible for reimbursement. I got tired of waiting so I called another tow company. The other tow truck got to me in 35min. What happen to 24/7 roadside assistance?

A frustrated premium member..
