A positive experience.

It was a very collegial group of women with a common goal. They were easy to travel with.

The tour felt a bit experimental- we were the first ones.

I think too much time was spent in buses on bumpy roads, covering too much territory. This limited the time spent with local women's groups, so the mini projects were not completed and it felt rushed.
I really liked any interaction with the local women. That's what I went for.

The accommodation ranged from 5 star (and probably not necessary) to basic cabins (which were fine).

The bus was reasonably comfortable. Big clean windows matter!

The guides were local and we got their world view. I learnt more in Tajikistan from Davron than I did in Kyrgyzstan. If they had some visuals and/or used a mini whiteboard to write key names/ locations, I would have retained more information. Providing links for important information could have been helpful too.

There was a lot of time focused on food. I know others appreciated the breaks for lunch and coffee, but I liked having the alternative of walking and exploring during this time. Having fruit and water in the bus was very good. Overall, there was too much food at evening meals. Most people don't need 4 courses.

A planned evening walk option is suggested for future trips.

Having a paper map of different areas is suggested. I love real maps!

Overall, I'm pleased to have been in this trip with these women.

My Uzbekistan holiday with Aahilya

My Uzbekistan holiday was better than expected. The organisation of the tour was excellent and from the sites we saw, the hotels we stayed in, the places we ate and the workshops that were organised and if necessary were flexible about the itinerary. Our local guide Kurshid was knowledgeable about the history, architecture and craftsmen we met and he had a sense of humour.
We were shown a beautiful country with an amazing history.

Very special trip to Uzbekistan with Aahilya…

Holiday to Uzbekistan with Aahilya Holidays was exceptional. The hotels were beautiful and perfectly located, offering both comfort and character.
Especially loved the hands-on textile and cultural workshops, which made the experience feel immersive. The expert guides brought every place to life with real insight and enthusiasm.
It’s hard to pick a single highlight—the trip offered such a rich and varied taste of Uzbekistan throughout. A wonderfully curated and memorable journey.

A Textile and Architecture Journey of Uzbekistan

The itinerary was very well planned but had flexibility for change according to timings and the group’s interests. Our guide was very knowledgeable and told us legends that were associated with the monuments. We not only saw all the sights but we also enjoyed craft and cooking workshops. We were very well looked after with good hotels, tasty meals and reliable transport By the end of the trip we came away with a good understanding of the history and culture of Uzbekistan. It was an amazing and enjoyable trip.

A textile & Architecture journey of Uzbekistan with Wendy Dolan

It was an amazing trip to Uzbekistan, so well planned that we were able to see the main areas of the country, mountains, desserts and so many historical landmarks. We travelled by trains, plane, 4x4 cars and coach. Our guide was so knowledgeable we had a real insight into the country, and their cultures. We had pottery, block printing and stitch workshops. This is the third time I have travelled with Aahilya Holidays and once again they have organised an amazing, varied programme. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them if you want to go off the normal tourist route safely.

Aahilya holidays are exceptional!

Aahilya holidays are exceptionally well organised and executed. On my recent visit to Uzbekistan, we visited all aspects of the country, with adequate and efficient transport. Every detail was considered, no request was refused and questions were carefully and fully answered by both owner/director Isha and our extremely knowledgeable, friendly and informative guide Khurshid.
We took part in a few workshops, Suzani embroidery , ceramic painting, block printing, though a few more interactive crafts during the trip would have been an improvement.
Everyone was made welcome, all needs met and accommodations were superb.
All in all, I highly recommend this company.

This trip to Uzbekistan in March 2026 Noreen

This trip to Uzbekistan in March 2026 was meticulously planned and carried out to perfection. The hotels were very comfortable, clean and efficient. The food was delicious and we experienced great adventures when we participated in cookery demonstration with host families. Khurshid, the guide was professional, hugely knowledgeable, and very helpful with the many question we had for him. Isha was the best hostess, very profession, with a warm & welcoming personality. Helen was great fun, encouraging, providing us with ideas & direction, and organising daily photo shots. I was a lone traveller but felt very welcomed and included .

The most amazing trip of a lifetime!

My first trip to India and it couldn’t have been any better thanks to Richa and the Aahilya team.
The communication and support leading up to the flight was exceptional, with nothing being too much trouble.
The trip was organised as textile and crafting exploration in Jaipur, with site seeing in Agra. Our tour guides were so knowledgeable and shared the history with pride. Answering any questions we had in our group.
The food was a worry for me, as I’m quite fussy, but honestly needn’t have worried. I thoroughly enjoyed the meals and variety of eating places.
We all had a fabulous time, very full agenda, with lots of experiences throughout the 9 days. I would never do this kind of trip without trip organisers and Aahilya would be my choice after this trip.
Richa kept us safe, well organised and laughing for the whole 9 days. Thank you

My third trip with Aahilya

My third trip with Aahilya, this time to Morocco. As previously it lived up to expectations and didn’t disappoint.
I expected to see a touristy Morocco but we were taken far beyond this. I loved the busy hubs of Fez, Rabat and Marrakech but particularly enjoyed the drive to the desert and on through the mountains. The views from the coach were memorable. I stayed extra nights in Casablanca which gave me time to explore here.
Everything had been meticulously planned but things were tweaked and adjusted along the way to make it even better. A visit to typical village was a highlight.
Workshops were interesting and varied, providing further memories for us to take home.
The team trio of Kim, Isha and Rashid was exceptional. They were constantly checking that everything was going smoothly.
Rashid was an enthusiastic and well informed guide who shared his knowledge and passion for his country. His sense of humour had us giggling.
I would highly recommend Aahilya Holidays. If you have doubts about travelling solo you will find compatible friends on any of the holidays as your love of art / textiles / architecture will be shared by others on the trip.
Hopefully I’ll be back for an adventure somewhere else.

Istanbul and Morocco with Aahilya

Travelling with Aahilya to Istanbul and Morocco have been such amazing life experiences for me. Because Isha and her
Team know their clients, they tailor the trip to include so many arts, craft and textiles opportunities. It’s wonderful to be able to participate in workshops with local practising artisans and learn techniques from the experts. We laughed continuously for the length of the trip and shared so many wonderful encounters that will remain in my heart always. I will be back for more!

See creative tour

I travelled to India with a group of likeminded ladies all interested in art crafts and fabric related hobbies. I cannot recommend Aahilya holidays more. The whole trip was a magical unforgettable experience which I am so grateful to have been able to have participated in..
Aahilya holidays and Richa (our group guide) expertly guided me through the whole wonderful experience from helping with visa enquiries to adding other experiences not on the schedule, answering questions, keeping us safe and giving me such an individualised tour. We visited so many hands on craft places and saw parts of India that wouldn’t have been possible to do on our own. It was a trip I will never forget. Our local guides were also absolutely fantastic and their knowledge and expertise was amazing.
