Booked a Peugeot car as I need lots of…

Booked a Peugeot car as I need lots of leg room as I am 6 foot 3 tall. was offered a small Japanese car which was to small for me then offered another small japanese car which was to small to get into, I then was offered the last one, which yes you guessed was another small Japanese car a Nissan Micra I complained and was told I would fit if the seat was lowered all the way to the floor. The car was full of dents and was dirty inside, I was then told that the tyres needed inflating, at this point I almost lost my temper, I said that’s not my job so the staff member reluctantly took it to the garage to inflate the tyres. I was not happy but I was almost told take it or leave it. The car was not what I expected so I drove it to our destinations and didn’t use it for the two weeks we had it. Also was charged €40 for breakdown cover !!!!!!
I will never use CARJET or ABBYCAR again. Should have read the reviews as they are spot on . Buyer beware!!!!!!!!!!!

Conn artists

One star for autoeurope and abbcar based out of Rhodes airport. The adverts are misleading about it being a short shuttle to collect the car. We waited the first 50 minutes of our holiday waiting for the shuttle. It is a 5km drive from the airport. Despite paying autoeurope upfrong for damage waiver, the sting started before the keys were handed over with the agent wanting to pre charge my credit card with 1600 euros. Never again... will be using the more expensive well known brands in the future rather than these cowboys and conn artists.

They cannot tell the difference in the size of cars

I booked a Peugeot 308 (or similar) with AbbeyCars through AutoEurope. When I arrived I was offered a Nissan Micra, and as I had not other options I had to accept it.

Despite the obvious difference in dimensions and classification by the car industry, AbbeyCar insist they are the same category

The worst car rental company ever

The worst car rental company ever, got the Hotel bus from Orlando Airport to rental desk that we got to at 19:45 hrs, no one on the desk & no info, had to get the Hotel reception to call them twice before they arrived an hour later at 20:45 hrs, then tried to rip us off for Toll transponder and extra insurance, then found out we can't take car out of Florida, so we had to leave the car with the money we had paid and get a $95 taxi to our Hotel, we also had last check in at our Hotel at 22:00 hrs but got there at 22:15 hrs and to wait for someone to come back and help us, HIRE COMPANY IS A CHEAP JOKE, Went to Thrifty in the end on 192 and for the same price had full insurance and go anywhere, PLEASE PLEASE go to another rental company and read the rest of the reviews they have got up tell now

Avoid Abbycar

Avoid Abbycar. Rented a car in Podgorica, Montenegro... I had to pay £200 charge just because I didn't have a credit card. It's been almost two weeks and still haven't received £600 deposit back. They even charged me £50 additional for an 'extra day' when I was very clear about my drop off time at the airport.

The worst car hire experience

The worst car hire experience. AbbyCar Thessaloniki hired us a car. They wouldn't take Amex so I had to pay extra insurance, they charged for a change of driver name. They told me it took unleaded when it was a diesel car, causing me to have to leave the car at the gas station on return. They demanded I pay for the extra fuel despite admitting that it was their error in telling me it took petrol. They were rude and accused me of not being careful, when it was clearly what they had told me. During a heatwave the air conditioning stopped working on the first day, pumping hot air. They then denied this was the case. I emailed them during the hire period to try and solve it and my email was ignored.

Abbycar in Rhodes.

Abbycar in Rhodes.. just avoid them, it is a scam. Never book a car from them online, neither aggregators or Abbycar.com (it is not even belongs to abbycar). No transparency of the fees you will need to pay, they will find for what to chare you more, and if not then be prepared to loose your deposit.

I so regret because I didn’t read all…

I so regret because I didn’t read all this reviews before booking! Long story short:
They left us at night on Belgrade airport with 4 months old baby after 10000km trip. No car- no pick up phone
Noone never heard about them on airport
Be safe, stay away from them, keep your mental health and money!

Avoid Abby Car if you can

Avoid Abby Car if you can! Our car was definitely below the standard which we ordered and paid for. The car itself was in bad state. The gearbox was broken, almost impossible to change the gear. The Abby Car knew it and still they were not ashamed to offer the car for renting. They also make a little business through credit cards. They request unproportioned amount of money to be kept on the credit card for the low standard car you get. If you do not place this amount, they charge you for extra daily rent like you would pay for a limousine!

Absolute Robbery

Absolute Robbery.

If I could give this place a 0 rating I would. After my experience, I can confirm all the reviews are correct!

We booked direct on Abby Car’s official website, we paid 112.50 euros for a Peugeot 208 or similar for 5 day rental. Their website clearly shows they accept various cards including Amex, although when I arrived to collect the car, we were seen by a very rude female member of staff who told us abruptly that they DO NOT accept Amex for deposits and we therefore need to pay an additional 125 euros for advanced insurance (WHICH IS NON REFUNDABLE) and the 100 euros deposit from my debit card (refundable).

I explained that when I booked, the official Abby car rental had Amex listed as a card they accept and doesn’t mention specifics around accepted cards and fees before booking and she began raising her voice and getting frustrated. She was so rude I asked to speak to another member of staff and he ignored us for the first 5 minutes whilst he proceeded to clean his desk and she laugh at us from her desk.

In the end we had to pay the 125 euros extra for this insurance as we didn’t have the right card but I will NEVER use these people again they are rude, unprofessional and clearly use this as a way to make additional money from unbeknownst tourists.

My car rental went from €112.50 for 5 days to €237.50 euros. On returning the car I also overheard other tourists being caught in this same trap.

We hired a car to collect from Rhodes

We hired a car to collect from just outside Rhodes airport and never again will we use this company nor recommend. My dad was the main driver and when we came to pay they wouldn’t accept our credit card as it had my mums initial but had the same surname. They requested that we had to pay 400 euros otherwise lose the booking. We contacted the booking people who said they could change the name but Abby car refused to help/alter. We had no choice but to pay the money for what can only be described as a below standard vehicle. We had bits hanging from the ceiling, the seal around the door fell over multiple times and finally a warning light/beeping regarding the vehicle being in neutral even thou we were moving. We were also reminded about the vehicle being returned in a clean state but upon receiving the vehicle it was both dirty inside and out. Please avoid this company at all costs

I had a very bad experience with Abby…

I had a very bad experience with Abby Car Rentals in Chania airport. I have booked the car in advance, paid it. When we arrived, they said it was a problem that the card was not on the same name as the main driver. But this thing was not written when I booked the car. They also ask for your credit card for 1000€ deposit. Please don’t choose this car rental company because they are crooks.

SCAM!!!

SCAM!!!! Made me take premium package when they stated they couldn’t take visa or Amex and just Mastercard. I didn’t have Mastercard so they scammed me to take this package out.
Said I had to leave and walk to the airport if I didn’t take it. Was left with no other choice. DO NOT USE, IT IS A TOTAL SCAM!!!! Dangerous

Close to the airport value for money

Close to the airport, unfortunately not the Peugeot I choose but a Toyota Yaris. The engine was not the prefect fit for the hills(I had to switch the gear into 1 to climb some hills).

The car was a little bit older but the price was low. No difficulties when returning the car.

THE COMPANY IS A SCAM. Needs shutting down ASAP!

Where to start… first the company like to make you pay £1000 for a deposit? However we really needed this hire car for our holiday and had already paid for the hire car we were willing to do this but they explained we are not allowed to pay this with debit and had to be credit. We do not have credit so luckily we thought we have paid for PREMIUM INSURANCE so we can cancel and get a refund but no they were not willing to give us this as apparently it has to be 48/24 hours notice( i say 24/48 as the times kept changing everytime we spoke to someone ) however this is not wrote in the insurance document we received. Please please do not use this company mainly so your holiday does not get ruined but also the receptionist we dealt with all thought this was hilarious so I really hope with all these bad reviews it will get this place shut down and she will be without a job. This company is a scam I very much doubt you will get your £1000 back even if you pay it. We have spoke to several taxi company’s and hire car companies and there is no wonder this place has such bad reputation. They are dirty liars, we have noticed on over peoples reviews they do accept debit if you pay for premium insurance but we already had this??!? This company is a joke and so is everyone who works for it. Avoid at all costs!
Also we got given a piece of paper with a phone number on the receptionist only gave us another customers details page with all their personal information on. Talk about data protection act???

AVOID AVOID AVOID, I can’t say this enough - please if you read any review, read this one. This company is scamming people by the hundreds! On collection of the car we were asked to leave a security deposit which they stated in the email was to be made by credit card, and explained that it was a block on the account and not actually a debit on account. This has since been seen not to be true, as they took the money from the account. Also, when checking the car on collection he asked if we had taken photos, which I did, mainly of the damage he stated as that was what he was encouraging us to do, I made an overall video as well.
On returning the vehicle, the lady came out of the office to greet us and the first thing she said was “have you got photos” which I thought was strange, she then walked directly to the front of the car and looked at the passenger side front underskirt, and said “there are fresh scratches here” she didn’t even have the damage check form on her at this point. You would have to be lying on the ground to see it or to take a photo, but she went straight to it, we had no incidents on our travels, she said, ‘It’s ok as you’ve got the full damage cover.’ I stated that this wasn’t the point, I had not damaged the car, and that I was not going to enter into a false claim of insurance. In the end of several conversations they agreed to refund the deposit which they did with the card I provided at the start, but although I have a receipt for the refund, there has been no refund appeared on my account. I strongly believe they are not pointing out hard to see damage that has already occurred to then blame the next customer, PLEASE PLEASE don’t use this company, they are scamming people out of money on a daily basis, I’ll say it again AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!

Disgusting service

Disgusting service. Please read this before renting anything from them.

My friend and I booked a car FROM ABBY CAR WEBSITE for 10 days. Our flight was delayed by over 2 hours due to bad weather so we couldn't pick up the car on time. We called them and they said they had already given the car to someone else. We thought, okay, fine. Let's ignore the fact that we paid the FULL AMOUNT for 10 days and they could have just kept the car waiting for us for 10 freaking days. Won't blame them for trying to maximize their profit... But -here's the rub- they didn't refund us anything. Not-a-single-penny. After we made dozens of expensive calls to get a response from them. They’d rather secure the money we paid up front in their pockets and double the amount on some last minute customer.

Sure, you might think, “These guys got unlucky, but it’s never going to happen to me.” But, what if your flight is delayed? Are you willing to take the risk and lose your money?

If you want advice from someone who’s been there, I don’t think it’s worth it.

I used abby car in Chania airport and eveything went very well. I had to pay a 35e fee due to ryan airflight delay but apart from that their staff was helpful and also their online support was very fast in replying. will recommend for others to use.
