Superb Bike Tour in North Korea!
I took part in the bike tour in North Korea in October, and the trip was probably the greatest experience of my life so far. Although that the country, the experiences there and the nature surely did their own part in making this trip unforgettable, but Above Borders took it to the next level.
You can easily feel a bit anxious when you travel to a place like North Korea, but Above Borders was amazing at communicating information all the way up to departure, and as soon as we touched down at our meeting point in China, it was a great feeling to be able to just let go of the responsibility and know we were in good hands.
Our guide Jonas was in one word perfect to bridge the gap between us, the foreigners who where there to learn and experience, and the locals and the north korean guides. It feels like he is extremely well liked among the north korean guides as well, and he is great at getting the door open with his personality. On top of that was he extremely knowledgeable, and was great at creating a constructive dialogue with our north korean guides and north korean locals, so we could get answers to as many as our questions as possible.
If you want to experience unique destinations with a competent team, Above Borders is the way to go, and I don't think it's the last time I travel with them!
