Slow and inflexible
The app is very slow - even for a rather small organization like ours (<70 people).
Calendar integration is inflexible - this app is more a burden than a real help, it might still be slightly better than the classical shared Excel file.
There's no planning mode or status - you have to use comments to signify that something is FYI for your team mates or not final.
The filtering is a mess; you can't even create stored filters so that you can reload.
Email notifications for 'approvers' are also terrible - you can confirm or deny from the email, but you can't jump into the app to see the request in context (e.g. overlaps with other absences).

We are very sorry to hear that you do not like our software too much.
The slow loading times can be caused by settings on the machine you are using or the wifi connection - as it should be quite fast for an account with less than 70 users.
And we are sorry that you do not like our calendar integrations - we do provide different ones that work fine for the rest of our customers. If you would like to get more information about integrations, please send us a message to support@absence.io.
As we are a absence management and time tracking tool we currently do not provide typical shift planning. The label function should help with that for companies that need to divide some sort of shifts.
And as the emails should provide all infos needed to approve/decline an absence it should make things easier for you to do it directly in the email. If you prefer to do that in the tool you can always check directly in absence or try for example our slack integration.
