Had horrible experience, scam for sure, can't get in the account to cancel it. Horrible.

Scam scam scam and worst of all I have not even set up the account
Please cancel thr subscription that wasn't set up by me. My details have been taken and used and I found today I have had over £191 taken from my bank account. This has since been blocked and reported as a fraud payment from my account. No further payments will be allowed.

Please cancel with immediate effect.

WHAT A HORRIBLE WEBSITE!!! I have been sending email after email asking them to cancel my subscription & delete my account & still nothing. this site is a huge scam! dont sign up on it

This site a a scam. I have tried to contact them multiple times to say I never even signed up to the account and requested proof that I did. They have been sending threatening emails from E collect saying I owe them money. I have explained they are refusing to engage with me regarding the account discrepancy. This company is awful.

Terrible terrible service…. I have cancelled the account after one month and now get an email from ecollect wanting more money for something I e cancelled long ago. Also what a joke of a website. Claim to have academic singles yet it’s all a lie.

Terrible and horrible online thieves! They advertised that 1 month membership is R49, when you select the R49 option it takes you to a payment page where they bill R196. The R196 put me off, I felt deceived so I didn't process the payment, but they processed it automatically. I'm enraged. I want my money back. And then cancel with immediate effect. Their website should be banned and blacklisted.

I tried cancelling after joining and somehow I don't have an option to cancel. Then I got alarmed and started looking for reviews. And my fears are confirmed I'm just going to block my account and we'll see where there'll get the money from.

Tinder is 1000 times better. The nonsense that is this site!

These guys have totally not cancelled my membership and continue to take money. When I send emails to customer service to have the membership cancel I get nothing. I have tried and tried to follow internal complaint process but still nothing for the past 4 months. DO NOT USE THIS SITE!

AS continue to bully me for payment of an account closed within hours of payment when it became immediately obvious that the messages I thought were waiting in my inbox were all from fake AS accounts, ie autobots. They have instructed a debt collection firm, with additional costs, none of which I have funds to pay in any case and I have told them this. They reply to my reviews on Trustpilot advising me to contact their customer service then ignore me entirely. Absolutely terrible site, avoid, avoid, avoid!!

I am trying to cancel my registration and renewal. I have sent the printed-and-signed form to the email indicated on the web. I haven't received any email confirming my cancellation. It is a really bad service and it seems to me a strangely faked web.
So disappointed.

Their service is horrible few hours after mistakenly signing up and being charged an amount not advertised im unable to cancel the subscription at least, forget the refund that I'm sure won't be paid I just want an immediate cancelation

This site is a scam, I registered for R197 then was later deducted R900 after cancellation which I don't know what was it for, I demanded a refund and a cancellation email but never got it.

I have been asked by academic singles to update the below review.

Unfortunately there response to me was inaccurate.

I made an email typo on the 16/82021 and alerted academic singles that my account and profile were not attached to my email address.
They only corrected it (after many many messages) on the 14/10/2021.

I was charged for 2 months of service I did not receive and I was completely unable to close the account during this time.

They have never apologised, admitted fault or refunded me.

I was then hounded daily from be2 collections from 16/10/2021 until the 29/10/2021 for payment for a 3rd month and no access to the account from 16/10/2021

Thankfully they seem to have let that one go but not without causing me considerable distress. AND STILL NO APOLOGY IR RECOGNITION OF FAULT.

I joined academic Singles in good faith on the 16/8/2021.
There was a typo in the email address and my account and profile disappeared.

I immediately alerted customer services who seemed unable to help me.

Being aware of how contracts just roll over month to month I then sent further emails with request for assistance - no joy.

It wasnt until I was charged for a 2nd month - an amount of R999!!! (Which I never would have agreed to for a dating site) and started to send reviews that the service providers switched my account to my correct email address (almost 3 months later).

This abrupt correction of my email address coincided with me stopping my bank card so they could not deduct any further money!!!

Since then I have had an abundance of correspondence !!!! demanding money.

I had about a week of access to the date site when they switched my email address and then it was blocked. (By now I had already been billed for 2 months of no access)

And they are claiming that I'm breaching contract.

This despite explaining
1. that I did not receive the service and customer services had done nothing to correct the problem.
2. That I could not stop the account as it was not attached to my email

Now I am being harrassed and accused while Academic singles has refused to take any accountability for their poor services; have refused to give me any guidance around how to refute this; and continue to ignore my explanations

Worst place you can join. Not really much of serious contacts, I got suspiceous that half of the socalled matches doesnt even exist. You can only choose "automatic silent renewal" of your membership which you can only stop by mailing them and wait for their accept. What a dirty way to make business hustling hopeful people. They should be ashamed of their setup. Its a hustle, nothing else!

Scam. They make the process to cancel the subscription too difficult(I still trying it). The support doesn't answer. They have many www domains for every country but are the same company with a different name.

DO. NOT. SIGN. UP.

Brutally bad dating site. Really, really dire.

Tinder is infinitely better, trust me.

But the main purpose of this pretense of a dating site is to milk you for cash by whatever borderline legal means their aggressive legal team of scumbags can manage.

An online company that insists on cancellation in writing. If you do not comply they will either continue to help themselves to your money or add a pile of 'administrative' charges and threaten you.

You've been warned. Don't do it.

Total scam. I write them email to cancel, no answer. They take money automatically even after unsubscribe request. Deliberately the unsubscription proces is difficult. I think that we must unite the forces and put lawyers on them!!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

This company is to be avoided. By far my worst experience of dealing with anyone online.

The site itself is bad but the nasty aspect is that YOU CANNOT CANCEL ONLINE.

They then threaten and harrass you with collection agencies for further fees.

Total scam. They won’t let me cancel my membership and charged an extra R1000 without my consent.
