Misleading Promotions, Broken Promises, and Poor Customer Service

I had a promotional rate with Acanac that I was promised would renew for an additional two years at the same price. This promise was clearly communicated during my interaction and, as I understand, is recorded on their end.
When I noticed my bill increased far beyond what I was promised, I initially called to resolve it. I admit I got frustrated and hung up during that call—it was upsetting to be misled again. Since then, however, I have remained factual and professional in all communications.
Despite acknowledging that misleading information was provided, Acanac made no effort to correct it or take accountability. Their responses have been scripted and policy-focused, showing little regard for customer experience. This is not the first time I’ve experienced this type of issue with the company, and it reflects a pattern that is not customer-focused.
I have since moved on to another provider, but I am sharing this experience, including on social media, so others can make informed decisions. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Acanac to anyone who expects honest communication or reliable customer service.

Acanac is a scam

Acanac is a scam. The give fake promos for 2 years or a year. They hope that you will forget about them and the will keep billing $82 a month for a service worth between 35-40 with other companies.

Stay away from them it's a scam. Just ask Gemini to help you find the cheaper internet service provider in Montreal. There are plenty.

Been with this acanac for 2 years for research purposes. They increase your monthly bill as they feel. My payment was $45. Verbal agreement, this company does not keep promises. It was increased to 57 then 85 all with 4 months. I made many calls try to clarify it but they are trained to lie, scam and thief our money. Stay way

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!

Just called in to troubleshoot my intermittent internet connection. Rep aggravated me and refused to transfer me to her manager. These people should all be fired.

Never seen a company this mismanaged and just actively bad, get a call "we are upgrading you free of charge" sounds great. It's been a year, multiple attempts to get someone out. And now they are saying I can't use the service unless I upgrade. No screw you, I tried, multiple times, and you messed up, of that means keeping old infrastructure at heavy cost that's on you idiots, I tried to upgrade, I'm just going to switch, they evidently don't want to keep customers,

Great rates but worlds worst customer support and interaction

They have great Internet rates but interacting with them poses issues especially if you are English. Technical support once I reached it was good but all other customer interactions were near impossible, like getting access to their billing site with a changed email. I just got hung up on time and time again by a guy who said he could not do anything.

Acanac? Think again.

I have been a loyal Acanac residential internet service subscriber for about 10 years. Last 4 months I have seen, on regular basis, my payments reversed, that is, the money was returmed to my bank account, usually about a week after I paid them. All my payments were made through their online portal. I was threatened with mails and phone calls.
I also spoke to multiple agents about the issue, as well as a manager.
Their customer service is located in Cairo, Egypt. I am recommending to all rational people to stay away.

Run.

I bitterly regretted the contract after 3 months. Everything was poor: support, speed, and hidden costs.

I would give a zero if I could

I assumed they would cancel my account when I changed credit cards. My bad, I know. But, after they canceled, they wanted the whole year's payment for three months of non use. Then, they tell me I can't reestablish the number for the remaining 9 months, but I still have to pay the full year or it goes to collections. F-You Acanac.

This Company is totally froud

This Company is totally froud. They will change there prices without notification to customer.
When you call them, they will blame you and say that you did not check the portal. So if you don't check there portal, they can take any amount from your account and generate invoice. When you call them, they will NOT give you any credit, as they will say that the invoice has been created and they can not do anything.

This is totally illegal, since they have your pre authorization payment, they can take any amount from your account without giving you any notification.

Please be careful of them. I was already scamed by them.

Unprofessional and Incompetency

The ‘internet’ light turn red modem from Acanac while the power and dsl is green I called Acanac support service. They send me a Bell technician, when he came: he told told me that their Bell line is working and maybe that modem not working. I called back Acanac and Acanac send me a new on. The newly received modem is showing the same result as the old one. Bell technician came again and he told me there is no problem with the Bell line. After 10 days of waiting and rebooting their modem dozen of time. The worst is that their support technique assured me that their 'side' is working!!! (I worked in computer field since 1986). I canceled Acanac and subscribe to Virgil Plus. After 4 days the technician from Virgil came and he gave a new modem. It worked immediately at the first run. I hope this comment may help you to choose wisely your ISP

Worst shit ever

Worst shit ever. No customer service. They have no idea what they are doing. Cant even get the phone number right. Tried to subscribe online many time, cant even get a log in from them. They made so many appointments never show up or send email to cancel. They said they left many voicemail. I asked for the number they have and its the wrong one. But i have to use my phone number to access the account when i call them. They are supposed to change for fibre but our credit doesn't allow it? What is that? They are able to charge our credit card but the internet goes with our credit score? The service account and the person living at the adress arent even the same person. Incompetence waste of time. Internet is slow, cutting all the time.

Horrid customer service

Was told I needed a new modem to fix the intermittent outages. Upgraded and now the internet crashes daily. Called customer support, waited an hour to be told I need to speak to tech services. Agent blind transfers me and the call disconnects. I finally get to a tech support agent and they need me to remote into the modem to get logs. After all of that BS the response was it’s Roger’s fault and we need to escalate to them and I can’t get an answer till the end of the week.
