Great people, very supportive and always willing to guide you in the right direction. Will answer any question, and it's very enjoyable to do the course and encourage to get this course done
Id recommend Paul as your teacher, was very helpful and explained everything in detail.
Currently enrolled on the plumbing level 2 course, being new to the plumbing industry our instructor and mentor Paul has been brilliant and even with abbreviations and acronyms of different stuff, he is very patient and extremely knowledgeable with actual real life situations of certain situations of the stuff we are learning about!
I was lucky enough to have Paul Kelly as a trainer throughout the plumbing course, he has been brilliant. Paul is extremely knowledgeable, patient and professional, he has a great way of explaining things clearly and making sure everyone understands before moving on.
He's always happy to answer questions, share his experience and give practical advice, which has made a huge difference & understanding of the trade. The quality of the training has been excellent. He's a fantastic trainer and an absolute credit to the company.
I would like to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to Access Training for such a fantastic experience. I am genuinely very happy with the training I received, and I could not recommend Access Training highly enough.
I would especially like to say a very big thank you to John. John is honestly an absolutely wonderful teacher and a fantastic person. From the very first day, he was incredibly friendly, polite, calm, patient and supportive. He creates such a comfortable atmosphere that you never feel embarrassed to ask questions.
What I appreciate most about John is the way he teaches. He explains everything carefully, clearly and step by step, with plenty of detail. If you don’t understand something the first time, he will patiently explain it again and again until everything becomes clear. He never rushes you and always makes sure you are confident before moving on.
I did my practical training with John and I am extremely happy and grateful for all his help, patience and knowledge. He genuinely cares about his students and wants them to succeed. That makes such a big difference.
John, you are absolutely brilliant! 👏 You are not only a fantastic teacher but also a genuinely lovely person. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your time, patience, kindness and support.
Access Training is very lucky to have someone like John as part of their team. 💪
If you are thinking about doing training with Access Training, I highly recommend them without hesitation. And if you get the opportunity to train with John — you are in very good hands!
Absolutely 5 stars from Darius! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Fantastic training, fantastic support and an absolutely fantastic teacher!
Very easy going and helped with any questions I had.
Speaking with Sarka helped me a lot today she’s great help! Even though I was confused she explained it to me in a very simple was and it all made sense.
I have just started doing my plumbing assessments this week in Manchester. I felt extremely nervous not knowing what to expect but Ian and Ned are the best! They are so professional and welcoming, VERY NICE people! Their knowledge and support is priceless. Even when I doubt myself they are there to support me. Such a good experience!
Potential students — please be aware before enrolling
I feel it’s important to share my experience because, had I known all of this beforehand, I would have seriously reconsidered enrolling on the course.
Although you are led to believe that you can progress through the different stages and complete the course within a reasonable timeframe, the reality can be very different. The biggest issue is the extremely long delays between each stage.
For example, after completing the theory exams, it can take anywhere from 6 weeks to 5 months before you are able to start your practical training at the same centre. Then, after completing the practical training, you can face a similar wait of anywhere from 6 weeks to 5 months before being able to book your practical assessment.
This means that even if you are motivated, available and ready to progress, you can end up waiting months simply because there are no suitable dates available. What should feel like a clear progression through the course instead becomes a drawn-out process with long periods of uncertainty.
I have to be honest — I feel extremely disappointed and, at times, misled by the whole experience. When you pay a significant amount of money for a course, you expect to be given a realistic pathway to completing it, not to find yourself waiting months between stages. Had the true timescales been made clear from the beginning, I would have approached the decision very differently.
Another issue that has added to my frustration is the free toolbox that was included as part of what I was promised when I enrolled. This is not something that was simply mentioned verbally. I have an email from my course advisor, included with my course quote, which clearly states “free toolbox upon starting practical training.” I have now completed my three weeks of practical training, yet the toolbox has still not been provided.
It’s not simply about the toolbox itself — it’s the fact that this was clearly stated in writing as part of my course quote, and I am still waiting for it after completing the practical training.
And honestly, I feel sorry for anyone who is trying to complete both plumbing and gas within 3 years under these circumstances. When you factor in the waiting times between each stage, that target starts to feel incredibly unrealistic, regardless of how committed or hardworking you are.
I’m sharing this because I believe potential students deserve to know the realistic timescales and what they can actually expect before committing a significant amount of money.
Please don’t just ask how long the course can take — ask how long students are actually waiting to move from theory, to practical training, and then to the practical assessment. Also, make sure that anything you are promised as part of the course is clearly confirmed in writing, and keep copies of any emails or documents that contain those promises.
I genuinely wish I had known all of this before I enrolled.
Just completed week 1 for my plumbing practicals in leeds. Had Kev for my tutor and he was brilliant, plenty of knowledge any question I had he had the answer, feel a lot more confident in my practical skills now.
I had a couple questions I was confused on and Sarka cleared them up very well and it was a massive help for me, I am now all set looking forward for the course to begin
Offer great teaching sessions, Andrew who is our instructor is so fantastic, very nice, patient and helpful. Help me go through all the parts step by step.
Drew was brilliant on my 2 weeks of practical.
Immense knowledge delivered in an expert way!
The review is split between the tutors and the behind the scene logistics operators at Access Training.
I found Access Training after searching online and Keith called me on the phone number I left on the enquiry submission.
Thank you to the professional trade teachers on the Premium Plumbing course. Callum and Gus, who taught me pipework fabrication in the workshops, and Paul and Andy, who did the webinars for plumbing and gas, were all fully engaged to get me to understand everything I needed to know to get my qualifications. The tutors at Access teach with consideration for the students without compromising the must-know details which get us over the line.
The reason this review is only four stars, not five, is due to the communication errors of the course coordinators. The Gas course changed awarding bodies midway through my cohort’s theory exam stage meaning the exams were on subjects different to the taught-material. Some students turned up to exams without even being told about the change. I understand that remunerations may have been paid to students who had to pay for resits and further travel expenses.
During a period of five months Access did not answer my phone calls to neither the plumbing nor gas departments so the information of the changes I only received from outraged students on my course. Whilst the change in the gas engineering course is possibly for the benefit of students in the long-run, with a better qualification at the end with some more learning involved, and with a quicker path to becoming Gas Safe, the handling of the transition between awarding bodies was poor and seemed almost careless (especially with the lack of communication from the head office). After finally managing to reach the plumbing department phone lines, I was told by a new phone agent that there had been a system error. Perhaps that was true but it could not be an excuse for ignoring many customer phone calls.
Now, I have passed my L2 Diploma in Plumbing and Heating with Access in the Edenbridge workshop with the support of Calum and Gus. I anticipate the next stages of my courses will be smoother and equally supported.
Thank you!

I done the plumbing it was very good. All the staff are very helpful.
Thank you
Great trainer really built confidence during week
I did my level 3 NVQ electrical training at Edenbridge with Dr Charles. An absolutely brilliant teacher with an exceptional knowledge of the subject that goes far beyond the course itself. The course was challenging, but his teaching made it incredibly rewarding, and I learned a great deal from him.
The training at Edenbridge for the NVQ Level 3 Electrical course was really good. It was really useful to learn the process of installation of different systems as well as embedding the learning from the core electrics. Charles was really helpful and took time to help all of us improve and I feel like I’ve really improved my knowledge and skills under him.
I was rushed into a sale for an electrical course and within 48 hours I wanted to reverse my decision and straight away encountered lack of response, delays and no refund even though it my legal right before the 14 day cool of any contract, these are cowboys and are clearly not making enough money to refund genunine requests.
Avoid if you want professionalism and integrity.
