The team at Acclimbatize provided a fun filled day for 22 12 year olds on a visiting rugby tour. They spent the morning Rock climbing and Abseiling followed by an afternoon of caving. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the day. The communication in advance made the day very relaxed and all activities were arranged close to our accommodation in Eyam. If you are looking to arrange group activities in the are we would highly recommend.

We had such a good time with the team at Acclimbatize, training for more advanced caving techniques. The staff were experienced, knowledgeable, patient, and kept the pace of the weekend perfect for our group. This was our second time using Acclimbatize for caving training, having done an initial course with them last year, and we're very happy we came back.

We took our teenaged grandchildren, and one of their mum’s, for a day with Sam and the team. They went canoeing climbing and abseiling. They all had a great day and we were very impressed with the whole set up. Everyone was very friendly, helpful, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and very professional. They knew their stuff and made it fun whilst also keeping a close eye on safety. We highly recommend and would definitely go again.

Daryl and his team are the shining examples of professionalism within this industry.
I cannot recommend him and his company enough. They provided myself and my team with an outstanding course for their cave and mine leader training. The course admin was taken care of, there was absolutely no stress whatsoever, meaning we could be confident in the course.
The course itself as stated was outstanding, easy going, professional, informative, fun, engaging, absolute value for money, I will be rebooking again for as many courses as I possibly can.

Had a fantastic time. The instructor was great with the younger teens and the adults. Made the whole experience fun and we learned a few things along the way. Definitely recommend! This is the second time we have booked activities with this team and will continue to do so each year! Thanks guys!!

This is was the first time since COVID that we had all our staff from across the UK together and felt it was a great opportunity to give everyone the chance to have some fun and get to know each other but also underpin it with team building.

We had an absolutely brilliant day – all your staff were amazing, helpful, supportive and encouraging and fed back some brilliant learning points too. The balance of team sessions, rock scrambling and abseiling worked very well.

Acclimbatize are a great company for family climbing. This was our second climbing session with them. The first was a half day climbing and abseiling whereas this was a full day climbing and top-roping tuition for my family. The instructor was brilliant (as was the instructor on our previous trip). His instructions were clear, he kept things simple but at all times we felt completely safe. In particular his interaction with my children was brilliant, leaving them to find their own way up the rocks only adding tips and hints where required. Admin was very easy and communication great.

We booked an afternoon of orienteering, rock scrambling, rock climbing with ropes and abseiling for our family of five, including three boys aged 13, 12 and 6. We had a wonderful few hours, all guided by Sam, who was very calm, encouraging and patient (it was more or less new to us and there were a few wobbles along the way!) We felt challenged but also very safe at all times. Highly recommended for a fun family time together.

Excellent experience. We booked relatively last minute and it was just the two of us. The comms with Sam before were great, clear and detailed. We met Chris at their base to kit up and then drove out to the site. Kit was clearly well looked after, in good condition and of good quality.
Chris was super friendly and extremely knowledgable which made for such an interesting caving experience.

We started with an abseil down a mine shaft before exploring the mine below. Felt incredibly safe at all times and will 100% be booking again in the future.

Booked ½day rock climbing & loved it! Mixed family group - teenage to 50s. Instructor, Chris, supported each of us brilliantly.

We were very inexperienced but his wise coaching tailored to what we each needed to build our confidence and reach the top of Harborough Rocks - you can sometimes see Snowdon. I felt safe but the instructor got us trusting our own judgement quickly.
We learned lots about the landscape, history and saw a cave with fossils

The thing I loved most was engaging with the rock and puzzling your way up.

I'd recommend doing a full day - I would love to have carried on. I'd worried in case anyone didn't like it/got tired, but you take turns climbing and belaying so your body gets rest time and I am sure that the instructor was judging our fitness and ability as he went along to make sure we had a bit of challenge, but not too much.

The company also do lots of other things that I hope to come back and try some time. It is a beautiful area with so many great areas to explore and doing things like this means you get to know it much better.

Tips for others - when they say 'wear warm clothes' they really mean it - it wasn't cold in the village where we were staying but it was windy and chillier up on the rocks. They provide harnesses & helmets, obivously, but also climbing shoes that you can change into to do the actual climbing. We forgot to bring water, which was daft but didn't matter too much in October - in summer you'd definitely need it!

As grandparents we booked a days beginners rock climbing course for our two teenage grandchildren (14 & 17yrs).. They throughly enjoyed it and it made our holiday with them.

‘Learn to Lead’ Course, expertly provided by Daryl and Hannes: we learnt a lot and gained a lot of confidence over 2 days. Both instructors were very encouraging and shared their expertise gained over many years with our safety at mind at all times but encouraging progression. In short: a brilliant experience thoroughly enjoyed by my 13 year old son Ben and me, his dad! A very big thank you!

We had a great time and learnt some interesting things about the mining heritage of Derbyshire.

My partner and I had an amazing time on this canoeing course! Chris was so patient and we learnt so much. I would highly recommend!

Half day climbing on Harborough Rocks with Sam for my two teenage children. They really enjoyed the session. He tailored the session to their abilities and they progressed in skills and confidence as well as having a great time.

We had the best time canoeing with Chris on the river Derwent. A first for all of us and though a little apprehensive beforehand, we felt so safe due to his amazing guidance. Our worries soon gave way to lots of squealing and giggling especially when we came across the faster waters which were such fun. Highly highly recommended. Already planning our next trip. Thank you to Chris. We loved it.
