Received a roofing proposal/quote with…
Received a roofing proposal/quote with signature execution request. Wife and I executed proposal and salesperson failed to honor the quote provided because "not in the practice of accepting unsolicited contracts." Hungh? This person sent us a proposal, was not like we send an agreement written on notebook paper in an attempt to extort roofing work! It appears the salesperson sends out a quote to "rope you in," then wishes to discuss services and of course there is most likely a higher price that quoted. A lot of double talk and fast talk. Ended with sales person (Tony Tomaino) stating "maybe we aren't the company for you," (after attempting to argue that the proposal/contract sent was an "executable contract" but is was unsolicited... (see below)???? Be warned.
(From sales person): "That's an executable contract but there's a little bit more to it than just sending paperwork. There's permit documents that need to be signed and an HOA application that needs to be submitted. Further, I need to prepare you for what's to come and make sure you understand the contract. There is also an option for insulation that we haven't discussed. The good news is we don't have an air condition to deal with, but it's still a re-roof in warrants. A little bit more communication than a paperwork shuffle. I assume I know what's on your roof but I've never been on, and we need a core test to see how thick the roof covering is and if there's multiple layers on it. So I need to do that before we sign a contract. I'll call you shortly to discuss in more detail."
