Avoid like the plague
Poorly written notes. Pathetic tutors. Material is out of date and useless. But so is the actuarial qualification so hey what’s new!? I wouldn’t bother getting Acted notes. You can buy them in India on the cheap, not that they are even worth a couple of rupees. I would discourage any student thinking to become an actuary. The profession is in decline, they have lied about massive growth in the profession, they’ve just recruited thousands of Indians, most of whom never qualify. British membership is in decline. This is because the job is boring and the claims of high salaries for doing nothing cannot be sustained. Acted have poor complaints management, their online resources are so poor and a severe let down during your crucial study time which you have to somehow find on top of a full time job. One learning package just stopped working at random times during each webinar and you had to start all over again. With a mountain of study material and things to go through, it was highly frustrating and the support received was atrociously bad. The worst service is however their Acted Forum. Students go on their for advice from fellow members. What you will however find, is the Acted managing director, Darrell Chainey grooming innocent, inexperienced young students and trying to entice them to join the profession using fake usernames and pretending to be someone he is not.
