SCAMMERS
SCAMMERS, AVOID AT ALL COST
I recently rented a car from this company, and my experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Despite already having insurance, we were forced to purchase their expensive insurance. This extra cost was unnecessary and felt like a blatant scam.
Additionally, we had to pay a $1000 bond, which was not mentioned beforehand. Our offer to pay the bond in cash was rejected, and instead, we were coerced into paying for their useless insurance for the entire rental period. When we proposed to get the insurance for a few days and return to pay the bond for the remaining rental period, they declined and forced us again to pay for the insurance.
Throughout this process, both my friend and I tried to be flexible, but it was clear they were determined to squeeze every possible dollar out of us. They did not inform us about the necessary steps to take in case of an accident. Reading through other reviews, it's apparent that this company relies on deceptive practices and hidden clauses to take advantage of customers. For example, failing to call the local police after an accident means you're not insured, and the tires aren't covered even though the insurance costs a fortune.
Overall, I felt scammed and mistreated. Save yourself the hassle and avoid this rental company at all costs!
Scam! addCar (by Aurum Cars...which belongs to CHECK24!) will not return my deposit!
addCar by Aurum Cars (which belongs to CHECK24!!!) will NOT return your deposit (1450,- €)...most horrible experience after your holidays!
If you want to enjoy your holidays and relax and have no hassle afterwards DO NOT RENT FROM addCar!
I rented a car by the end of March... it's end of May and no signs of getting my money back any time soon!
Kyle Baldacchino from addCar in Malta is a criminal!
This is the worst company ever
This is the worst company ever. Don't book with them. The rental company in Sofia is a scam. They say your credit card is not valid and you should take a more expensive insurance with them in order to charge you more. The tariff per day is higher than the one mention in the contract, an there explanation is because they can't use the credit card. What they do is using paying devices which don't work with credit cards, or slight move the card before the end of the transition and you get a message "The transaction failed" They also offers you to make a new reservation with them on the spot for much higher price. It's a full scam! CARJET which is the Father company where we made the reservation doesn't offer any refund, even though they recognized that we were scamed
Sadly we had a really really bad…
Sadly we had a really really bad experience. The car company didn’t pay us back our deposit saying they already transferred it. So be careful because they take a lot of money from you!
Addcar scam company ever
Addcar scam company ever, first of all forget about your deposit plus get ready to pay extra for anything as like car wash fee, empty gas tank fee, They did not return my $1100 deposit for nothing and now I hired a lawyer for to continue to process legally, I highly suggest to anyone who couldn’t get back to their deposit they should contact with a lawyer who take care tourist cases. If you can not find a lawyer I can share my lawyer information.

I rented a cat at ADDCAR/OC RENTAL
I rented a car through VIP Card Booking # xxxx. Supplier Reference: xxxxx. Upon getting to the airport the free shuttle never showed up to Terminal B in Orlando after waiting 1 hour and I was with a 3-year-old. We had to get a taxi to the rental location and incur a $25 taxi fee making us over 2 hours late. They kept saying the shuttle was coming but it never showed up. Arriving at the location I was supposed to rent my car through Add Car but they directed me to OC Car rental. They said they owned Add Car, JR Car rentals and OC Car rentals. All of which I discovered have a F Better Business Bureau rating. The price according to my receipt was supposed to pay was: 173.25 My receipt said I would pay: $173.25 Grand total of INCLUSIVE of all taxes and fees. They said I owed $199.35 more. However, when we got to the car rental there was a extra charges for voucher fees. I also had my own car insurance that was supposed to waive rental coverage, but they forced me to pay an extra $10 a day. They also would not allow me to use my own EZ pass and said if I went through any tolls it would be $25 for each tolls. This was more than the original cost of the rental. They also advised, if I paid cash, I wouldn’t incur a credit card fee of $12.60. I waited on line as well at the rental place for nearly 1 hour and they didn’t even have the car I wanted, a Toyota RAV 4 and gave me a larger KIA Telluride. The receipt said I picked up on time. I waited 1 hour there. However, I needed a car and had no recourse because I was with my family. I pleaded with them to charge what my contract said, and they said no. I also encountered a huge language barrier with broken English/Spanish. I had no choice but to take the car. I also called them and was placed on hold, I was hung up on and never received a call back. When I returned the rental car they said I was an hour late. I said I was waiting in your lobby, and no one was here, and you made me wait a hour upon pick up. I asked for a receipt at drop off and was denied a receipt. I also wrote after my trip on Instagram on social media and they said to fight them, and I would lose. This is false advertising. As my original receipt said $173.25 was INCLUSIVE of all taxes and fees. OC car rental, Addcar and JR car rental must be reported for falsifying information and then taking reservations.
Additionally, Upon receiving an alert on my credit card I was also charged an extra $103.50 without my permission on March 14th 2024. I called AMEX and they immediately gave me credit.
I am looking for OC car rental to credit my account $199.35 + $103.50=$302.85
Thank you
Scam rental car false advertising…
Scam rental car false advertising ,hidden fees, inflated prices ,shaddy location, back in a corner of warehouse district!! Orlando location!!There is great stuff at the airport!!
Two-hour wait to return the car and charge an additional day
I arrived waiting almost two hours to return the car. There is no one at the airport and no one here in the office. We call the person in charge “Razvan” doesn't even know that we have to return the car or the time or anything.
Also he cut me off on the phone when we called. Then they call back saying insults. What kind of service is that?
In the contract it is marked that the return of the car is at 6am at the airport. We went there, no one, we called, no one in the office and on top of that no one treated us badly. You should understand that we have a flight and we can't walk around "waiting for 9am because the person in charge is busy".
A
shame
AVOID SIBIU Scheme Scammers

SCAMMERS!!!
AVOID! AVOID ! AVOID!!!!
Thieves!!!!
Scammers!!!
If only I could give a negative star…nonetheless even infinite negative stars wouldn’t be enough to rate the brilliant SCAM service of Addcar Rental. Let’s start from the very beginning. We booked with Addcar through Easycar.com. As it’s a legit website, we didn’t check or read any of the reviews online.
Our pick up was from Marrakech airport. They don’t have an office so you have to keep looking for the guys doing paperworks in the airport parking lot. When we reached there, we’d selected to collect the car at 9.30 am however when we reached the parking we found that there was only one guy dealing with the customers. There were three / four more customers in front of us waiting for their turn. So we had to wait in the scorching heat as there were no shades around! When finally our turn came probably after an hour, we were told our credit cards cannot be used because of security reasons. We tried twice but apparently it failed so they asked us to use our debit card. With the debit card, the appeal is that you only pay EUR 500 for the deposit. We also paid EUR 120 for 3 days car insurance which they said is full excess and would cover everything (if you have bought an insurance online it won’t be valid (according to them) so you will have to buy here). After this everything went well and we left after two hours with the car after doing the paperworks.
Upon our return, they mentioned some of the scratches that were already there before we took the car and we had pictures as proofs (the agent was telling us that we’d not need to take any photos as we had full insurance). We also argued that even if we scratched it we have full insurance so it should cover. There were two agents on that day so the guy who had originally given us the car told the second guy to issue the full refund. He then took my card and issued a FAKE refund. I didn’t have internet at the time but he basically was trying to charge me rather than give me the deposit back. As I didn’t have enough cash in that account, they couldn’t take additional money. However, I have now found that they took the full deposit money on that day as the deposit was on pending before that instead of returning my deposit. The guy asked me to sign a damage report paper where he had not selected or written any damage and asked me to put my email and phone number; as the report was empty I didn’t think much of it and did as he said. He also told us we could call on one of the numbers on the invoice if we don’t get refunds within 3-4 working days.
I didn’t receive the refund in 4 days but I decided to wait few more days. In two weeks time, I called them on WhatsApp and they said there was an accident so I won’t get my deposit back. I then explained that we didn’t cause any damage and even if we did we had the full insurance. They denied it was a comprehensive insurance and said it was only excess reduce like wth?! So the guy or the company scammed us! Also that guy charged MAD 100 as a tip from my car of which I only got to know after he took it.
We sent a long email to their customer service but they sent us an invoice and damage report and told us to send to our insurance company. We bought the insurance from them!! The empty damaged report which I had signed before I left Marrakech had to my horror been forged, they copied my handwriting from the email address I had written and basically wrote that i damaged the windshield and trunk. So ridiculous! I even have pictures as evidence to show that those damages were already there. Anyways they completely denied our claims and refused to give my deposit back.
I have also read reviews on how they organise a crime and crash into rental cars so that they can claim money from insurance company and as well as charge customers. They should be completely banned. Hope the authorities see all these negative reviews as all the reviews I’ve come across have been negative. Don’t hire from them!
I rented a Vitara from AddCar in Rijeka… WARNING: HORRIBLE, CRIMINAL SCAMMERS!
I rented a Vitara from AddCar in Rijeka airport 21-24 of September, looking aside the most nasty representative and filthiest rental car office I have ever seen, this is what happened when I was robbed 1410 euro:
Upon returning the car I was accused of causing the "damage" (1 cm minor scratch BELOW EVEN visible surface on the driverside, left bumper) I refuse to accept what I was made liable is because of the following reasons
1. Not something I have caused.
2. Impossible to have discovered, I cannot be sure this "damage" was already there when I took out the car.
3. This "damage" is something you would normally consider as normal part of usage, I strongly argue that this in fact is not even a damage, hence the "".
Furthermore I noticed a scratch that according to the renter was not necessary to document, he overly nice and servile behaviour when I picked up the car proved to be a very valid red flag, NOTE! To compare it was far worse than the "damage" I was accused of having caused
I notified airport staff and airport police about the matter and both looked at the damage on site and both just shook their heads.
To summarize, this is outrageous and fraudulent and CRIMINAL behaviour from AddCar rental company and to argue that the bumper must be replaced borders would be just laughable would I not been charged this ridiculous amount, 1410 euro!!!
A bunch of Scammers
A bunch of Scammers. Stay away. Do not rent cars from this company. They will do whatever it takes to steal money from you and charge your card without your permission. In my case, they charged me over 1000$ upon returning the car for no apparent reason. Now, I am talking to them to get the money back otherwise I will get it back through local authorities because they are scammers.
Long story short: Stay Away.
They accused us of causing non existent…
They accused us of causing non existent cosmetic damage and would have to charge us. Eventually they agreed after a very uncomfortable conversation that there was none and would not after all charge us.
Do not hire from addcar
Do not hire from addcar, the company offers cheapest quote to hire the car, but at the end you will pay expensive price as the company will make sure they will find the damage caused by you. I hired the car after arriving to BTS airport, the guy who I collected the car from was friendly enough and there was no issue, except the cigarette smell in the car. I don’t smoke and I was told by addcarr strictly no smoking in the car, however the car stinked of cigarette smoke.
The shock came when I returned the car, I was told I scratched plastic underneath of front bumper. I argued with staff that was already marked on original protocol, but I was told this is the other side. I couldn’t argue, as to be honest, when I was collecting the car, I didn’t lay down on the ground to check the scratches underneath of car. Addcar charged me 200EUR for this “damage”. They also charged me another 100EUR for the scratches on plastic wheel trims. Therefore instead of orginal hire price 98EUR, 4 days car hire cost me 398EUR. I am sure whoever will hire the same car next week will be charged for same damage as I don’t know many people laying down on the ground to check vehicle for damages when collecting the car. Their staff when returning the car was unhelpful, unfriendly and rude. I hire the car several times a year, but I have never had such a bad experience. Avoid at all cost. I have learnt my lesson, addcar are scammers and earning their profit very misleading and dishonest way!
Avoid them whit any price addcar…
Avoid them whit any price addcar Bucharest...they are forcing you to pay very high insurance, pretending your credit card doesn't work...garbage people.
Avoid AddCar at Reijka airport.
I booked a car at AddCar at Reijka airport. Interestingly, they do not mention their company directly on google maps, so hard to review....
When returning the car 2 people started to extremely meticulously check the car and had a hard time but finally identified an extremely minor scratch on the rubber by the wheel and inside of the door. I rented many cars but never experienced such an meticulous check in Croatia or elsewhere. If anything, it is really considered “normal wear and tear” at other companies like Hertz. Unfortunately, I cannot add images here for others to see it.
Ofcourse everyone will complain, but here is the thing. I have full covered by insurance, including the “own risk” is covered so in the end I will not pay personally.
I am suspecting insurance fraud, which is an economic delict and punishable by local/EU law. I also expressed this feeling to the 2 guys.
The 2 guys of AddCar also let me pay the damage by creditcard, instead of taking it out of the creditcard deposit which is meant for damages.
Also the invoice does not state AddCar but “Auto Za Trece Tisuclejece d.o.o.” Which is located in Split and also was on the license plate, so I assume it provided the car. I speculate the 2 employee’s have made a little deal with this Suzuki dealer. They “identify” damages to be “repaired” by the suzuki dealer. They use their invoice of 440 Euo which also includes a €75 “administration costs”.
Incompetent and a Joke
The car given had clearly been in an accident as many parts of the car were misaligned therefore the safety of the vehicle is very dubious. On returning the vehicle they had asked us to pin the location so as to know where to return. Not only did the pin take us to a field in the middle of nowhere but on looking at the address and using that, it sent us approx 3 miles away. On turning up we were told it was our fault. If you expect limited help and rudeness then this is the place for you.
KEEP OUT OF ADDCAR IN SOFIA (BULGARIA). SCAM AND DANGEROUS!!!!!
We rented a car for 14 days from addCar. The office is in a container outside the airport, and they came to pick us up with a van. They had us waiting outside in the sun at 33ºC on purpose without letting us in. Once inside, they offered us insurance that doubled the rental price. We told them that we already had insurance through the platform and that we weren't interested. Nevertheless, they insisted vehemently, almost to the point of threats, indicating that if we purchased the insurance, we could relax, but if not, we should be prepared for the consequences. Afterward, they took photos of the car and sent them to us via email (148 very low resolution pictures; 9-33 Kb). They also told us that we needed to return the car cleaned so they could easily see its condition, and if we didn't, they would charge us an additional 25 euros.
We returned the car clean and undamaged at the agreed-upon time (11 am). While one person was distracting us by taking numerous photos of the car, looking for damages and scratches like with a microscope, and eventually found a small, almost invisible scratch underneath the front bumper, another person in the office asked us for the PIN of the card to refund our security deposit (2000 levs). Considering that the card terminal was in Bulgarian, we repeatedly asked why we needed to enter the PIN, and each time he told us it was to refund the security deposit to the same card. We did so, and to our surprise, the receipt in Bulgarian an English was not for a refund but for a charge. We had just authorized them to charge us the same amount of the original deposit that were claiming to release (2000 levs=1022.58€). When we inquired about the charge for the damages they claimed existed, they said they didn't know and that the central office needed to assess it, and they would send the report by email within 3 days. We were short on time as we had to catch a flight, which worked to their advantage. At the airport, we attempted to stop the payment and realized that not only had they charged us 2000 levs, but at 8 a.m., even before inspecting the car, they had already charged us an additional 698.41€ on our Visa.
A few days later, we received an email stating that the car had 6 small scratches (1-80 mm) and 1 big scratch (>80mm), valued exactly at 1721€, the same amount they had already charged us previously, in part 3 hours before we even returned the car!!!!
We will file a complaint with the European Union consumer office and bring it to the attention of the authorities. These practices are unacceptable under any circumstances and we have the obligation to stop them to prevent more victims . It is not enough to share our complaints on the internet, it is necessary to act to prevent these scams from continuing.
Unsafe cars. Poor service! Stay away!
The car was very old with 167 000 Km. After, I had a flat tire. I found how bad the rea tire were old and cracked. The spare tire was no better than the original one. I was driving stressed and concerned about my safety.
When returning the car at the Casablanca airport no agent was available at 6:00 am. I had to leave the key in the car in the middle of the parking! I still missed my flight as I was waiting. Very poor service and product. Also, my CC was charged $210 for unknown reasons. I filled up the gas and there was no damage. I purchased extra insurance any way. Please use know companies with higher rating although you may pay a little more to save yourself trouble and stress.
